  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present a model for R.N. and nursing students. Methods: Main primary sources were certificates, writings, news and articles. On the basis of them, her life was described over time and analyzed on the secondary sources. Results: Park Myungja faced Korean War as a nursing student and became the military officer of nursing. In 1950s and 1960s she worked hard to improve the operation room nursing. And she devoted herself to improve nursing education and help her students. Park Myungja became a military training teacher in 1972 and included first aid with the military training course. As a researcher of Korean National Open University, she tried to develop a course that R.N.s can receive a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Her last formal career was the head of a middle school, and she established the first nursery facility for the teachers. After the retirement, she devoted herself to the volunteer works, especially such as the hospice care, free clothes making, and Taichi teaching to arthritis patients. Conclusion: Park's life has been that of a R.N and volunteer. She has been very creative to find what she could do and pioneering to accomplish them.

  • Researches on the mechanism of surging and the surge behaviors in the systems of pumps, or fans or compressors, and the effects of flow-paths had been initiated and had made a great progress in Japan in the decades from the nineteen-forties to the nineteen-sixties. In 1947, the essential cause of the surges, i.e., self-excited oscillation nature of the flow-system, was discovered analytically by Professor Sumiji Fujii of Tokyo University, and most of the characteristic behaviors of the phenomena had been explained clearly. Successive studies by many other Japanese researchers continued to prove experimentally the mechanism, to extend the analytical studies, and to attempt preventing surge occurrence, etc. in the following two decades. The historical information on the early surge studies could be helpful to some concerned people. At the same time, the basic and plain ways of discussions and reasoning about the phenomena in the pioneering researches could give us much to be learned even in the present time of high-power computing systems. Regrettably, many of the original research works have been published only in Japanese. The present review introduces very briefly the situations in memories of the pioneering researchers and engineers.

  • Since Goldreich and Julian's pioneering work in 1969, the pulsar magnetosphere theory has been dramatically developed for theorists to possess an elegant axisymmetric, stationary model. Based on this development the black hole magnetosphere theory has also been established in the last 30 years. Such theoretical developments will be reviewd equation by equation in this paper.

  • Firms' utilization of internet is completely changing their business environment. Apparel firms' without exception are using internet as their essential marketing mechanism and as a new media for educating customers. Some apparel firms' at the same time acquire valuable customer information from internet users. These business cases become evident in developed countries. in contrast most domestic appstrl firms' are unable to see the strategic importance of internet. Accordingly their level of internet utilization remains quite low. This paper describes apparel firms' use of internet as electronic commerce mechanism based on cases of pioneering apparel firms' which adopted internet technologies in the first place. We further discuss problems that these

  • A big boom in nanocomposites research has landed also in Japan. As a virtual 'center of excellence' in composites technology there, ACE TeC of ISTA/JAXA has led pioneering portions of nanocomposites research particularly in mechanical properties oriented applications. An overview of research activities based on nano-technologies in ACE TeC/JAXA will be given first and some remarkable results will be introduced briefly.

  • Following the collaborator meetings report towards practical engineering education at universities(June 2010), the Pioneering University Reform Project supported by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) of Japan solicited opinions from industry, professional associations, and academia on the goals of the individual fields, as well as common goals, that could be adaptable and applicable for a broad range of universities and curricula. This paper gives an overview of two surveys that were conducted, as well as a summary of the mechanical engineering goals as an example of the individual fields.

  • In this paper, we introduce the pioneering trigintic functional equation. Moreover, we establish the general solution of the trigintic functional equation and prove the Hyers-Ulam sum and product stabilities of the same equation in multi-Banach spaces by employing the fixed point approach.

  • This study aimed to clarify the multifunctional services and space composition in the process of developing a multifunctional long-term care program in small elderly care facilities in Japan. We collected data about multifunctional long-term care at small facilities from the Community Life Support Center (CLC), a Japanese non-profit corporation, and conducted an interview survey of the members of the CLC's secretariat in 2014. Furthermore, we selected 3 Japanese pioneering care facilities (known as takurosho), and conducted interview surveys and data collection to clarify in detail the space composition and process of development of multifunctional long-term care at small facilities. Four distinct results were found. First, the facilities had gradually increased non-institutional services, including visitation, overnight stays, and long-term stays, to fit the needs of users and their families. Secondly, in the 1990s, they could offer both non-institutional and institutional services at the same facility, but after the long-term care insurance system began in 2000, non-institutional long-term stay services were not allowed. Third, the facilities had built extensions or extra rooms in response to increases in multifunctional services and users. These rooms had common characteristics, with sitting rooms at the center of the facility. Lastly, the maximum number of service users at each of the 3 facilities was limited to 15, to maintain a small scale. However, as the size of facilities was increased through building extensions or remodeling, the overall amount of area available to users increased.
