  • In this paper we propose the communication system model which improve the performance of OFDM based DSRC system by adopting selective pilot overlay channel estimation scheme. Assuming AWGN and fading channel environment, the performance of OFDM system according to IEEE802.11p physical layer being standardized for OFDM based DSRC is obtained, and the performance of proposed OFDM based DSRC system adopting selective pilot overlay channel estimation scheme is compared with the conventional system. from the simulation results, it is shown that proposed system is superior to conventional one due to reducing channel estimation error.

  • IPresented is a small and handy remotely piloted vehicle(RPV) that can be used for military and non-military surveillance operations. The RPV is equipped with an on-board high resolution color camera to transmit the analog video images and on-board electronics to provide real-time flight information to the pilot, thereby enabling him/her to remotely pilot within the range of 5 km radius. This paper describes the RPV system including its design, manufacturing and flight test results which manifest the stability of on-board mission and flight equipment as well as the remote piloting capability. A future plan for necessary improvements identified from the flight tests are also discussed.

  • This paper demonstrates a regional analysis of landslide occurrence potential by applying geographic information system to the Kumi City selected as a pilot study area. The estimate criteria related to natural and humane environmental factors which affect landslides were first established. A slope map and a aspect map were extracted from DEM, which was generated from the contour layers of digital topographic maps, and a NDVI vegetation map and a land cover map were obtained through satellite image processing. After the spatial database was constructed, indexes of landslide occurrence potential were computed and then a few landslide-potential areas were extracted by an overlay method. It was ascertained that there are high landslide-potential at areas of about 30% incline, aspects including either south or east at least, adjacent to water areas or pointed end of the water system, in or near fault zones, covered with medium vegetable. For more synthetic and accurate analysis, soil data, forest data, underground water level data, meteorological data and so on should be added to the spatial database.
