A simulation on fall detection system for the elders (노인의 낙상 검출 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • According to a survey, more than 50% of the elders fall which is the most frequent daily safety accident of the elders takes place at home. Furthermore, the elders fall is anticipated to increase as more elderly people are expected to live alone since, 67.1% of the elders of 65 or more do not hope to live with their children. This research aims to verify the fall by measuring and analyzing the floor vibration, and the hardware system was also designed was Piezo Film Sensor, Op-Amp, and DAQ. The system is consists of signal processing part for measuring floor vibration and alarm part for identifying the consciousness of the user when the fall occurs. The fall detection by vibration signals verified by k-Nearest Neighbor verification, and the results showed the error rate of 3.8%.

  • 압력센서는 몇 가지 센싱 메카니즘을 가지고 있으므로 종류가 다양하고 크기 변에서도 여러 가지가 이용되고 있다. 최근에는 센싱 부분이 작으며 제어부분도 포함되는 ASIC화된 센서 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 여기에 이용되는 대부분의 탄성물질은 힘을 받았을 때 물질 내부의 벌크에서 저항 값이 변화하는 특성을 갖고 있다. 이러한 특성은 피에조 저항률(piezoresistivity)로 언급되며 스트레인 게이지의 감도에 영향을 주는 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 다이어프램으로 금속대선 세라믹을 사용하면 안정성이 우수한 특정을 가칠 수 있으며, 부식성 가스 류 및 화학성분에 대해서 내성이 강하고 환경변화에 따른 변형과 공정의 단순화 등 우수한 특성을 갖고 있는 것이 큰 장점이다. 센싱부는 산화 루세니움($RuO_2$)을 주 성분으로 하는 분말을 Paste화 하여 다이어프램 위에 스크린 프린팅을 하여 기본성능을 나타내었으며 특히, 상품화에서 중요한 일반성능에서는 온도 특성에 대한 Span 과 Offset 그리고 공정의 단순화에 대해서 고찰을 하였다.

  • In this study, actuator, sensor, guide, power transmission element and control method are considered for ultra-precision positioning apparatus. Through previous process, single plane X-Y stage with ultra-precision positioning is manufactured. Global stage for the purpose of materialization with robust system, is combined by using AC servo motor and ball screw and rolling guide. And ultra-precision positioning system is developed by micro stage with elastic hinge type and piezo element. global servo and micro servo for the purpose of materialization positioning accuracy with nm(nanometer) are controlled simultaneously by using incremental encoder and laser interferometer as displacement measurement sensor. Through previous process, ultra-precision positioning system (100mm stroke and ${\pm}$ 10nm positioning accuracy) with single plane X-Y stage are materialized.

  • This paper presents the vibration control of a glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic achlator. The three types of different controllen which are PID, H$\infty$ , and p-synthesis ontrollcr are employed to achieve vibration suppression in the transient vibration of composite beam. In the H$\infty$ , controller design, 1st and 2nd natural frequencies are considered in the modeling, because robust control theory which has robustness to struchred uncertainty is adopled Lo suppress the vibration. If the controller designed by H$\infty$ , theory does not satisfy control performance, it is improved by $\mu$ -synthesis method with D-K iteration so that the$\mu$-contoller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance Simulations and experiments were carried out with the designed controllers m order to demonstrate the suppression efficiency of each controller.

  • A study on the robust control of a composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic actuator is presented in this paper. $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ natural frequencies are considered in the modeling, because robust control theory which has robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the vibration. If the controllers designed by $H_{\infty}$ theory do not satisfy control performance, it is improved by $\mu$-synthesis method with D-K iteration so that the $\mu$-controller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance. Simulation and experiment were carried out with the designed controller and the verification of the robust control properties was presented by results.

  • Comparative study on the analysis and experiment for the vibration of a rotating cantilever structure was made in this paper. Analysis results were obtained by using the modeling method which was developed in the previous work. The cross-section thickness variation due to the sensor attachment was additionally considered. In order to verify the accuracy of the analysis results, exerimental results were obtained. The analysis and experimental results were found to be in a good agreement. It was also shown that the aerodynamic and cross-section thickness variation effects significantly influenced the dynamic characteristics of the rotating structure.

  • It is well known that a discharge in oil is the source of various physical phenomena. Ultrasonic-wave detection is a useful method to the diagnosis of the transformer-insulation condition. Conventionally, ultrasonic waves are detected by Piezo-electric transducer, and we use optical method that has many advantages. In this paper, we constructed a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with optical fiber and investigated the principle of operation. Test arrangement is based on the needle-plane electrode system in oil and applied AC high voltage. Ultrasonic waves were detected and analyzed with wavelet transform.

  • The sonar sensors can be divided into a piezo type and an electrostatic type according to a principle of an operating system. The electrostatic type of a sonar sensor is used for map building in this paper. If we know the characteristics of sonar sensor, we can derive the ultrasonic pressure equation from an acoustics theory. We, therefore, developed Ultrasonic Pressure Probabilistic Model (UPPM) to consider the sound pressure in the probability updating process. In this paper, we found that the quality of the resulting probability map is considerably improved, through combining the UPPM with the grid-based mapping algorithm.
