Pick & Place Module consist of Linear Motor using Cogging Force Reduction Method (코깅힘 저감 방법을 적용한 선형모터로 구성되는 Pick & Place 모듈)

  • The pick & place module is used as a core module in the process equipment for producing and inspecting semiconductor components. The conventional pick & place module has the disadvantage that the precision and durability of the system are reduced and the size and weight of the module are increased by using a conversion device that converts rotary motion into linear motion. In this study, we proposed a pick & place module that implements up-and-down linear motion without a conversion device by improving such disadvantage and employs a linear motor with no limit on average thrust and travel distance. Design parameter values, that can reduce cogging force while maintaining average thrust by selecting parameters for designing a core type linear motor with a large thrust to volume ratio and analyzing the effect of cogging force according to design parameter changes through magnetic analysis, was selected. Average thrust and cogging force were measured for the pick & place module composed of the manufactured linear motor and compared with the design values.

Analysis of Pick-up Mechanism for Automatic Transplanter( I ) (자동 채소 정식기 묘 취출 메커니즘 분석(I))

  • In various crops, seedlings are preferred to seeds for faster and more effective growth, so transplanters are used for them. This 2-row transplanter was developed to promote the mechanization of vegetable transplanting work which depends on human power. and it can automatically supply seedling tray and transport picked up seedling to the planting hopper. Also, we judged performance of transplanter with comparing seedling missing plant ration according to two types of pick-up method. Result of experiment, in finger-type picking up of 265 seedlings, missing plant ratio was 13.7% with 17 failures of pick-up and 15 collapse of bed soil. and In fork-type picking up of 200 seedlings, failure of pick-up was not appeared and missing plant ratio was low as 4% with 6 dropped during transfer. Therefore for 2-row automatic transplanter, fork-type pick-up device was found to be compatible.

  • In this study, we suggested a slim-type actuator that can be controlled in radial direction for compensating coma aberration in high-capacity optical storage devices. To deal successfully with narrow space in slim-type optical pick-up for notebook pc device, additional yokes for tilting motion are integrated into main yoke of the actuator. And the location of tilting coils is determined for mass-b3lancing effect to achieve optimal configuration for high driving sensitivity. We also suggested new concept of lens holder to guarantee excellent stability of control system by enhancing the gain margin at secondary resonant frequency. The concept was realized by forming damping sections in the lens holder, which prevent vibrational energy from transferring to lens. An exclusive measurement system was newly developed for fast and precise measurement of dynamic characteristics of actuators and utilized for the practical use. We hope to make good use of this system also in time to come.

As components are getting much smaller, feeding accuracy of a feeder becomes one of the most important factors for successful component pick-up.   • This paper is concerned about the dynamic analysis of an underwater test miner, which operates on cohesive soil. The test miner consists of tracked vehicles and a pick-up device. The motion of the pick-up device, relative to the vehicle chassis, is controlled by two pairs of hydraulic cylinders. The test miner is modeled by means of commercial software. A terramechanics model of cohesive soft soil is implemented with the software and applied to a dynamic analysis of the test miner model. The dynamic responses of the test miner are studied with respect to four different types of terrain conditions.

  • The study of two-dimensional electron systems with extraordinarily low levels of disorder was, for a long time, the exclusive privilege of the epitaxial thin film research community. However, the successful isolation of graphene by mechanical exfoliation has truly disrupted this field. Furthermore, the assembly of heterostructures consisting of several layers of different 2D materials in arbitrary order by exploiting van der Waals forces has been a game-changer in the field of low-dimensional physics. This technique can be generalized to the large class of strictly 2D materials and offers unprecedented parameters to play with in order to tune electronic and other properties. It has led to a paradigm shift in the field of 2D condensed matter physics with bright prospects. In this review article, we discuss three device fabrication techniques towards high mobility devices: suspended structures, dry transfer, and pick-up transfer methods. We also address state-of-the-art device structures, which are fabricated by the van der Waals pick-up transfer method. Finally, we briefly introduce correlated ground states in the fractional quantum Hall regime.

It consists of a feeder base, an image acquisition system, and a personal computer. The image acquisition system is composed of CCD cameras with lens, LED illumination systems, and a frame grabber inside the PC. This system loads up to six feeders at a time and inspects them automatically and sequentially. The inspection software was implemented using Visual C++on Windows NT with easily usable GUI. Using this system, we can automatically measure and inspect the quality of all feeders in production process by analyzing the measurement results statistically.

  • By adding height compensation to the usual 3 points skew adjustment device, an improved functional skew adjustment device is implemented in this paper. The proposed skew adjustment device is for traverse which will be adapted to BD and HD player system requiring more accuracy. and It can adjust not only R/T skew but also height. The system is composed of personal computer, control box, kinematic mechanism device and bar-code reader device. Application programs are implemented by visual basic.

  • To improve the switching time of active optical bistable devices, we propose an active optical bistable device that consists of a diode laser, a transistor, and a photodetector. By implementing the proposed device we realize the optical bistable device with a 5 nanosecond switching time. This is the fastest switching time among the hybrid type optical bistable devices. It is also experimentally demonstrated that the proposed device may be used in an optical disc pick up.

Development of Chestnut Harvesters for Small Farms (소농을 위한 밤 수확기의 개발)

  • Three prototype chestnut harvesters were constructed and evaluated their chestnut collection ability and field efficiency. Air-lock paddle system successfully picked up all loose material, and pick up efficiency was about 56 kg/h. Power required to operate this system was evaluated to be 8.7 kW with an air flow rate of $32.6\;m^3/min$. A radial blade type blower with 0.41 m impeller diameter was considered to be a minimum size for this system. For the auger system, air was sucked into the cylinder as the hinged flat cover began to be opened by the material pushed by the auger, and the empty burrs flew back to the container through the space between auger flights and collected in the bottom of the container. It was considered to add a device to prevent air from flowing back or to use the back flowing air for separation of burrs and nuts inside the container. The venturi system could not pick up chestnuts, as they only carried part way up to the suction hose. Consideration was given to an idea that the venturi could be used as a cleaning and separation mechanism for containers filled with both empty burrs and good nuts. A minimum vacuum of 129 mm wg was required to pick up chestnuts, and the corresponding inlet air velocity was 19.3 m/s. 104 mm of vacuum, which was about 81 % of that required for nuts, was enough to pick up burrs with nuts inside. Also, empty burrs with higher moisture content recorded the same pressure as for the burrs with nuts.
