우리나라 담배 세균성마름병균(입고병균 : Pseudomonas solanacearum)의 Race와 Biochemical Type (Classification of Pseudomonas solanacearum isolates from tobacco plants in Korea)

  • [ $1980\~1981$ ]년 사이에 전국의 14개 주요 담배 재배지역으로부터 채집, 분리한 담배 세균성마름병균(Pseudomonas solanacearum)의 가지, 토마토, 고추, 감자 및 담배에 대한 병원성반응을 조사한 결과, race 1 및 race 2에 속하였으며 또한 이 균주들의 생리적 특성 15종을 조사한 결과 biochemical type 1과 4로 판명되었다.

  • In July, 1963, a virulent outbreak of late blight in the potato field of Daekwanlyung area was studied and it was known as epidemics. Two stocks are $T_1$ and $T_1$ of Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) De Bary which isolated from Irish Cobbler were inoculated at field and green house respectively by cutted leaves method. Two strains have been distinguished in reactions to leaves: $T_1$: Irish Cobbler (r), Morin No. 1 (r) have shown infectivity of disease and Kennebec ($R_1$), 1512-C(16) ($R_2$), Pentland Ace ($R_3$) and Hokkai No. 17 ($R_4$) have not shown infectivity of disease; $T_1$: Irish Cobbler (r), Norin No. I (r) and Kennebec ($R_1$) have shown infectivity of disease and 1512-C (16) ($R_2$), Pentland Ace ($R_3$) and Hokkai No. 17($R_4$) have not shown infectivity of disease. Both are the first record of race O and race 1 of Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) De Bary in Korea.

Kinetic Approaches to Measuring Peroxiredoxin Reactivity

  • Peroxiredoxins are ubiquitous thiol proteins that catalyse the breakdown of peroxides and regulate redox activity in the cell. Kinetic analysis of their reactions is required in order to identify substrate preferences, to understand how molecular structure affects activity and to establish their physiological functions. Various approaches can be taken, including the measurement of rates of individual steps in the reaction pathway by stopped flow or competitive kinetics, classical enzymatic analysis and measurement of peroxidase activity. Each methodology has its strengths and they can often give complementary information. However, it is important to understand the experimental conditions of the assay so as to interpret correctly what parameter is being measured. This brief review discusses different kinetic approaches and the information that can be obtained from them.

  • The aging society is globally one of biggest issue because it is related with various degenerative brain disease such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebrovascular disease. These diseases are characterized by misfolded-protein aggregation; another pathological trait is "neuroinflammation". In physiological state, the resting microglia cells are activated and it removes abnormal synapses and cell membrane debris to maintain the homeostasis. In pathological state, however, microglia undergo morphological change form 'resting' to 'activated amoeboid phenotype' and the microglia cells are accumulated by neuronal damage, the inflammatory reactions induced nerve metamorphosis with a variety of neurotoxic factors including cytokines, chemokines, and reactive oxygen species. Thus, the activated microglia cell with various receptors (TSPO, COX, CR, P2XR, etc.) was perceived as important biomarkers for imaging the inflammatory progression. In this review, we would like to introduce the current status of the development of radiotracers that can image activated microglia.

열처리가 Lysine 손상에 의한 단백질의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Heat Treatment on Protein Quality as Lysine Damage)

  • 식품의 가공처리나 저장 중에 단백질에 결합된 아미노산의 side chain이 상호간 또는 식품내 다른 분자들과 화학적으로 반응할 수 있다. 이 반응으로 아미노산의 구조적 파괴, recemization, 단백질의 상호작용들, 또한 환원성 당과, 산화제 및 polyphenol류와의 결합을 들 수 있다. 이들 중 Maillard 반응 (예 ; fructoselysinel과 아미노산 간의 cross-linking(예 ; lysinoalanine)에 의한 반응이 주를 이룬다. 이때 가장 영향을 받는 아미노산이 lysine으로, 이는 lysine이 기능성 유리 ${\varepsilon}-amino$ group을 갖고 있기 때문이다. 일반적으로 아미노산의 derivatives나 polypeptides내 cross-links는 단백질의 체내 이용율과 소화율을 감소시켜 단백질 식품의 품질을 떨어뜨린다. 본 논문에서는 식품낸의 lysinoalanine과 fructoselysine의 형성과 관련된 기술적, 분석적, 영양적 그리고 생리적인 문제들에 관하여 문헌고찰하였다. 결론적으로 식품내 이들의 존재가 여러가지 영향을 체내에서 미칠 수 있으나 정상 성인에게는 전혀 위험한 물질이 아님을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 제한된 formular foods를 주로 먹는 유아에게는 성장에 lysine이 필수적이므로 lysine 손상을 통한 단백질의 질 저하는 대단히 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 따라서 유아식의 가공처리와 저장에 주의를 해야할 필요가 있다고 본다.

멀티모달 실감 경험 I/O 인터랙션 시스템 개발 (Development for Multi-modal Realistic Experience I/O Interaction System)

  • 본 연구는 단순 입력 기반 유니모달 인터랙션의 한계를 극복하고 단순 입력 방식이 아닌 멀티모달 기반 사용자의 행위, 의도, 및 집중도를 활용하여 실감적이고 몰입도를 향상시키는 인터랙션 시스템을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 선행연구에서 기존 문헌연구를 토대로 메타분석방법을 활용하여 인터랙션을 위한 3차원 동작 인식 기술의 정확도를 분석하여 최종적인 센서 기반 인터랙션 방법이 선정되었고, 직관적 제스쳐 인터랙션 요소를 추출하여 본 시스템에 반영하였다. 또한 생리반응을 이용한 집중력 판단 기술을 개발하여 사용자 의도를 판단하는 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템은 3부분으로 나눌 수 있다. 선행연구에서 선정된 인터랙션 요소들을 적용하여 가속도(Accelator) 센서와 연성(Flexible) 센서를 활용하여 손 동작을 인식하는 시스템을 구현하였고, 동공 인터랙션을 통한 안경형 시선 추적기를 구현하여 인터랙션이 가능하게 하였으며, 심혈관 반응과 피부 온열 반응을 측정하여 사용자의 의도를 반영한 시스템을 최종 구현하였다. 실감형 디지털 엔터테인먼트 플랫폼 기술 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Pseudomonas syringae pv. theae에 의한 차나무 갈색마름병 발생 (Occurrence of Brown Blight of Tea Plant Caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. theae in Korea)

  • 2002년 봄, 순천시 비닐 하우스에서 육묘중인 차나무에 세균병이 발견되었다. 초기 병반은 신엽에 작은 수침상 병반이 나타났으며 갈색반점으로 변하였다. 이 병반은 점점 커졌으며, 중륵 또는 엽맥을 따라 신장하였으며 검은색으로 변하였고, 병든 잎은 쉽게 낙엽이 되었다. 병반으로부터 10균주를 분리하여 잎에 접종한 결과 자연 병반과 동일한 병징이 나타났다. 병원세균은 염색반응, 형태적 특성, colony 패턴, 생리적, 생화학적 반응에 따라 Pseudomonas syringae pv. theae로 동정되었다. 국내에서 이 균에 의한 차나무 세균병은 아직 보고되지 않았으므로 병명을 차나무 갈색마름병(brown blight)으로 명명할 것을 제안한다.

회생산(回生散) 에탄올 추출물이 비만세포 매개성 염증반응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Hoesaeng-san Ethanol Extract on the Human Mast cell-mediated Inflammatory Responses)

  • Hoesaeng-san is known to be effective for treating diarrhea and vomiting. However the therapeutic mechanism of Hoesaeng-san is still not well understood. The aim of the present study was to demonstrate the effects of Hoesaeng-san ethanol extract (HSSEE) on the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as to elucidate its mechanism of action in the human mast cell line (HMC-1). Mast Cell were stimulated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) plus A23187 in the presence or absence of HSSEE. To study the possible effects of HSSEE, ELISA, RT-PCR, Western blot analysis were used in this study. HSSEE significantly inhibited the PMA plus A23187-induction of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$, interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8. In activated HMC-1 cells, phosphorylation of extra-signal response kinase (ERK) 1/2 and c-jun n-terminal kinase (JNK)1/2 decreased after treatment with HSSEE. Moreover HSSEE inhibited PMA plus A23187-induced nuclear factor (NF)-${\kappa}B$ activation and $I{\kappa}B$ degradation. HSSEE suppressed the expression of TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-6, IL-8 through a decrease in the ERK 1/2 and JNK 1/2, as well as activation of NF-${\kappa}B$. These results indicated that HSSEE exerted a regulatory effect on inflammatory reactions mediated by mast cells.

색조화장품에 적용될 수 있는 17종의 천연한약재가 피부 염증억제에 미치는 임상적 연구 (Effects of Herbal Extracts on the Inflammatory Reactions Which Use the Makeup Preparations)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of herbal extracts on the skin inflammatory reactions which use the makeup preparations. In experiment 1, among the herbal ingredients of herbal extracts, ethanol extracts and 1,3-BG(Butylene Glycol) extracts of Galla Rhois showed potent radical scavenging activity, more than 91% at all concentrations, tested by DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hyrazyl) method. In experiment 2, ethanol extracts of Chrysanthemi Flos, Gardenias Flos, Galla Rhois showed potent inhibitory activity of the lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide(NO) production, more than 87% at $10{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, by the macrophage RAW 246.7 cells. And 1,3-BG extracts of Taraxaci Herbs, Corm Fructus, Galla Rhois showed potent inhibitory activity of nitric oxide production, more than 89% at $10{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. In experiment 3, ethanol extracts of Chrysanthemi Flos, Gardeniae Flos, Galla Rhois showed potent inhibitory effects of cyclooxygenase-II activity, more than 78% at $10{\mu}g/m{\ell}$, by using ELISA kit. And 1,3-BG extracts of Galla Rhois, Carthami Flos, Chrysanthemi Flos, Taraxaci Herba, Corm Fructus showed potent inhibitory effects of cyclooxygenase-II(COX-II) activity, more than 80% at $10{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. Therefore, 1 expect that herbal extracts, especially Galla Rhois may be used as a drug for treatment on skin inflammation and a material of the makeup preparations.

서열환경 하에서의 텐셀소재 의복의 착용감 연구 (A Study on Wear Sensations of Tecel Fabrics in Hot Environments)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of Tencel fabrics on physiological reactions of a human body and thermal comfort under the hot environment. The 3 females subjects in their twenties were selected and a wear sensation test of the subjects was performed with four experimental ensembles made of cotton and Tencel fabrics for the study in the hot environment(3$0^{\circ}C$, 70%RH). The resets of the test were summarized as follows: For the mean skin temperature, Tencel garments showed about 0.2$^{\circ}C$-0.4$^{\circ}C$ lower than that of the cotton garment. The temperature of the rectal was 0.2$^{\circ}C$-0.4$^{\circ}C$ lower for Tencel garments than that for the colon garment. In the form of ensembles, the order of rectal temperature of the subjects for both Tencel and cotton ensembles was 1>IV>III>II. In the body weight loss according to garment materials, Tencel had a lower and more uniform than the cotton Thus, it could concluded that if the perspiration took into account, garments made of Tencel can be more ideal than that of the cotton. The heart rate and oxygen consumption appeared to be proportional to each other. For the heart rate, ensemble TI and TII of Tencel were much lower than ensemble CI and CII. For whole enembles except for TIV, Tencel ensembles showed relatively better thermal sensation and comfort sensation than the cotton ensembles. In the fatigue sensation, the reactions of the subjects were “slightly fatigue” and “fatigue” for the cotton, but “neutral” and “slightly fatigue” for Tencel.
