  • Radiation technology is an effective way for regulating polymeric materials to physicochemical and mechanical properties. New polymeric hydrogels based on vinyl ethers have been synthesized by the $\gamma$-initiated polymerization method. In this paper, we have studied the effect of radiation on mechanical and electrochemical properties of new rubber-like polymeric composite materials based on polyvinylether of ethyleneglycol (PVEEG).

  • The machine-vision based structural displacement measurement methods are widely used due to its flexible deployment and non-contact measurement characteristics. The accuracy of vision measurement is directly related to the image resolution. In the field of computer vision, super-resolution reconstruction is an emerging method to improve image resolution. Particularly, the deep-learning based image super-resolution methods have shown great potential for improving image resolution and thus the machine-vision based measurement. In this article, we firstly review the latest progress of several deep learning based super-resolution models, together with the public benchmark datasets and the performance evaluation index. Secondly, we construct a binocular visual measurement platform to measure the distances of the adjacent corners on a chessboard that is universally used as a target when measuring the structure displacement via machine-vision based approaches. And then, several typical deep learning based super resolution algorithms are employed to improve the visual measurement performance. Experimental results show that super-resolution reconstruction technology can improve the accuracy of distance measurement of adjacent corners. According to the experimental results, one can find that the measurement accuracy improvement of the super resolution algorithms is not consistent with the existing quantitative performance evaluation index. Lastly, the current challenges and future trends of super resolution algorithms for visual measurement applications are pointed out.

  • This paper analyzes the four game physics engines in terms of real time techniques. Real time physics is the technology that simplifies the physics-based simulation to apply for the real time applications such as game. Our study includes two commercial physics engines, Havok's Physics SDK and NVIDIA's PhysX SDK, and two open source projects, Open Dynamics Engine and Bullet physics engine. As a result, most of them covers rigid body dynamics and some include either deformable body simulation or fluids simulation, or both. For real time simulation, they adopt the simplified numerical methods, the effective in collision detection/response, and also use the parallel processing hardwares, i.e., multi core CPU, Physics processing unit(PPU), or graphics processing unit(GPU).

  • We have obtained opal-like photonic crystals based on opals and inverted opals exhibiting a shift of the selective reflection band toward longer and shorter wavelengths with respect to the diffraction band of the initial opal consisting of $SiO_2$ spheres. The contribution of frames forming three-dimensional periodic structures and that of fillers to the spectral arrangement of the diffraction bands has been determined.

  • According to the previous studies, the science education departments in the college of education should develop better curricula to teach future secondary school teachers in a more professional way As one example of such curricula developments. one important topics of modem physics was integrated to teach the future high school physics teachers In the physics education departments. The title is "The Physics of Solar Constant Measurement The surrounding core physics for this measurements were pulled together with these important points in minds(1) clear goal of learning In the teachers college physics(2) Clear explanation of physics and visualization of important technologies for the high school students(3) these teachings should encourage for the students to use the knowledge and technologies learned through the class toward the industrial applications Korea will move toward one of the heavily industrialized countries in the world where the physics education can become key player to manufacture physics based products. Therefore developments of physics curricula which relates teachers college, high school, and industry will become more and more Important.

  • Finding poly(amidoxime) (PAO) based adsorbent with better performance in U(VI) extraction from seawater is a hot research topic. By employing plasma treatment, the bi-functionalized adsorbents containing amidoxime and phosphate (labelled as $PO_4/PAO$) were successfully synthesized. The obtained $PO_4/PAO$ was characterized and applied for the potential extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solution. The results show that $-PO_4$ enhanced the hydrophilicity of PAO. $PO_4/PAO$ possesses good selective sorption ability for U(VI) and excellent reusability. The findings is helpful to understand optimizing performance of PAO based adsorbents for uranium extraction from seawater.

  • The recent discovery of diffuse dwarf galaxies that are deficient in dark matter appears to challenge the current paradigm of structure formation in our Universe. We describe the numerical experiments to determine if the so-called dark matter deficient galaxies (DMDGs) could be produced when two gas-rich, dwarf-sized galaxies collide with a high relative velocity of ~ 300km/s. Using idealized high-resolution simulations with both mesh-based and particle-based gravito-hydrodynamics codes, we find that DMDGs can form as high-velocity galaxy collisions separate dark matter from the warm disk gas which subsequently is compressed by shock and tidal interaction to form stars. Then using a large simulated universe ILLUSTRISTNG, we discover a number of high-velocity galaxy collision events in which DMDGs are expected to form. However, we did not find evidence that these types of collisions actually produced DMDGs in the ILLUSTRISTNG100-1 run. We argue that the resolution of the numerical experiment is critical to realize the "collision-induced" DMDG formation scenario. Our results demonstrate one of many routes in which galaxies could form with unconventional dark matter fractions.

  • To operate the ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) antennas in a better heating state and produce relatively low impurities, it is necessary to control the antenna spectrum by changing the antenna phasing. As the electrical length of the antenna feeding transmission lines is changing as a matter of the standing wave pattern at the ceramic supports, 90° elbows, T-connectors and antenna loops, we chose to measure the current at the grounding points of the antenna loops by antenna strap probe. The voltage drops along a small, several millimeter-long paths at the end of the antenna loops give a signal that is proportional to the current in the antenna loop. Through the simulation of the antenna strap probe and the actual measurement of the antenna phasing under vacuum conditions, the reliability of the antenna strap probe based diagnostic system have been successfully proved. Moreover, this system was successfully applied to the ICRH daily experiments in the spring of 2021. In the near future, the active real-time feedback control of the antenna phasing system will be developed based on this diagnostic system in the EAST tokamak.
