물리화학적 처리에 따른 PDMS 특성 조절 (Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic PDMS Sponges Prepared Through Physicochemical Treatments)

  • 다공성 탄성체는 기름유출과 같은 상황에서 적용 가능한 선택적 흡수재로 각광을 받고 있다. 다공성 탄성체의 선택적 흡수효율은 표면 거칠기, 물리화학적 처리기법, 수압안정성 등의 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 PDMS(polydimethylsiloxane), 미소 소금입자 및 계면활성제(silwet L-77)를 이용하여 다공성 PDMS를 제작하는 방법에 대해 설명한 후, 제작과정 중 물리화학적 처리를 통해 상기 다공성 PDMS의 소수성을 강화하거나 혹은 그 특성을 친수성으로 만드는 방법에 대해 기술한다. 물리적 처리방법으로는 소금입자의 크기조절을 통해 공극 크기(혹은 표면 거칠기)를 조절하고 화학적 처리방법으로는 계면활성제의 혼합비를 조절하여 표면 에너지를 변화시킨다. 제작된 다공성 PDMS를 이용하여 접촉각 및 흡수율을 측정함으로써 소금입자의 직경과 계면활성제의 혼합비가 다공성 PDMS의 접촉각과 흡수율에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 측정한다.

Effects of red glasswort as sodium chloride substitute on the physicochemical properties of pork loin ham

  • Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of red glasswort (RG) (Salicornia herbacea L.) curing on the physicochemical, textural and sensory properties of cooked pork loin ham (M. longissimus thoracis et lumborum). Methods: All treatments were cured with different salt and RG powder levels. RG0 treatment was prepared with only 4% NaCl (w/w) as a control, and RG25, 3% NaCl:1% RG (w/w); RG50, 2% NaCl:2% RG (w/w); RG75, 1% NaCl:3% RG (w/w); RG100, 0% NaCl:4% RG (w/w) treatments were prepared sequentially. All samples were individually vacuum packaged in polyethylene bags and stored for 7 d at 3℃±1℃. Results: The results showed that as the rate of RG substitution increased, pH value, redness, myofibrillar protein solubility, and myofibrillar fragmentation index increased (p<0.05), but salt concentration and shear force decreased (p<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in cooking loss and moisture content. In terms of sensory evaluation, RG100 exhibited higher scores in tenderness and juiciness than RG0 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The partial substitution of NaCl by RG could improve the physicochemical properties, textural and sensory characteristics of cooked pork loin. Therefore, it is suggested that RG as a natural salt replacer could be an effective ingredient for developing low-sodium cured hams.

낙동강 중류의 이화학적 환경과 식물성 플랑크톤 군집 (Physicochemical Environments and Phytoplankton Community in the Nakdong River Middle Basin)

  • Physicochemical environments and phytoplankton community in the nakdong river middle basin were investigated during a period of 1 year from Nov. 1993 to Oct. 1994. The ranges of Physicochemical environment factors in the nakdong river middle basin were $3.6~27.4{\circ}C$ for temperature, 7.1~9.3 for pH, $7.1~12.7mg/{\ell}$for DO, $0.7~2.1mg/{\ell}$ for BOD, $31~52mg/{\ell}$ for alkalinity, $2.101~3.3mg/{\ell}$ for T-N, $0.052~0.099mg/{\ell}$ for T-p, $5.4~92.3mg/m^{3}$ for chlorophyll-a. The number of Phytoplankton was lowest in Jan. that is, 244ce11s/ml and that was highest in Sep. 1201 cells/ml. The increase of dominant genera were correlated with the total nomber of phytoplanktons. Bacillariaceae, chlorophyceae, cyanophyceae, and euglenophlrceae were to 74.5%, 20%, 3.5%, and 2.2% respectively. Bacillariaceae were abundant during all the year round except for Jun, Jul, Aug. Chlorophyceae were plentiful in Jun, Jul, Aug. Tase-and odor-causing algae and filter clogging algae were 72% in Nov. and 93.5% in Jun. They were abundant all the year round except for winter, so they influenced on the treatment of tap water system. They belong to the general asterionella, cyclotella, melosira, nitzschia of bacillariaceae and actinastrum, pediastrum of chlorophyceae. Dominace index was low in winter and high in umber. Diversity index and equitability index were low in summer and high in winter. Therefore, the structure of phytoplankton community of the nakdong river middle basin was different form season to season.

시금치 분말의 품질안정성에 대한 살균처리의 영향 (Quality Stability of Spinach Powder As Influenced by Microbial Decontamination Treatment)

  • 편의식품 제조용으로 사용되는 시금치 분말의 미생물학적 품질개선을 목적으로 ethylene oxide와 감마선 조사의 살균효과 비교와 품질 안정성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 시금치 분말시료의 미생물 혼입도는 $10^{2}{\sim}10^{4}\;cells/g$ 수준으로 내열성포자균, 내산성세균, 곰팡이, 대장균 등이 확인되었다. 상법의 EO 훈증법은 오염미생물의 살균에 불충분하였다. 7 kGy 이하의 감마선은 검사된 미생물을 모두 사멸시켰고 호기성 전세균에 대한 방사선 감수성$(D_{10})$은 2.93kGy로 나타났다. 시금치 분말의 ascorbic acid 및 환원당 함량은 EO 처리에 의해 유의적으로 감소되었으나 10 kGy 이하의 감마선 조사에 대하여 비교적 안정하였고, 살균선량으로 조사된 분말의 색소특성은 관능적 품질에 영향을 미치지 않았다.

  • 기상중합으로 제조된 poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) 박막을 다양한 금속 알콕사이드 졸 용액으로 후처리하여 내용제성, 내스크래치성, 연필경도와 같은 물리화학적 특성을 효과적으로 개선하였다. 기상중합으로 제조된 PEDOT 층위에 금속 알콕사이드의 졸-젤 공정으로부터 유도된 금속 산화막이 형성되어 전기적 특성의 큰 손실 없이 기계적 물성을 증대시킬 수 있었다. 금속 알콕사이드 졸은 다양한 기능기를 가지는 실리콘 및 티타늄계 알콕사이드 화합물을 사용하였다. 이 중에서 tetraethyl orthosilicate를 기반으로 한 금속 알콕사이드 졸을 사용한 경우의 PEDOT-금속산화물 복합 박막이 표면저항, 투과도 및 다양한 물리화학적 물성 관점에서 가장 우수하였다. PEDOT-금속산화물 복합 박막의 전기적, 광학적, 물리화학적 특성 관점에서의 최적화를 위하여 금속 알콕사이드 졸의 함량, 산화제 함량, 후처리 후의 건조온도에 따른 효과를 살펴보았다.

설사증 나환견으로 부터 분리한 Canine Parvovirus의 성상에 관한 연구 (Biological and Physicochemical Properties of Canine Parvovirus lated from the Dogs with Diarrhea)

  • From 1988 to 1989, 8 strains of canine parvovirus-2 (CPV-2) were isolated from the fecal specimens from the dogs that were clinically diagnosed as canine parvoviral enteritis in the veterinary hospitals located in the regions of Taejon and Chungbuk province. Studios on biological and physicochemical properties for the isolates were carried out. The results obtained by experiments are summarized as follows. 1. Among 62 fecal samples collected from the dogs with enteric diseases, 24 (38.7%) showed the haemagglutinating activity against porcine erythrocyte, ranging from 16 to 16, 384 of HA titers. 2. When 8 fecal specimens with high HA titer over 1, 000 were inocultated into CRFX cells, intranuclear inclusion bodies were obseverd in all of eight specimens, of w)lick three specimens showed cytoplasmic inclusions concurrently with the intranuclear inclusion bodies. 3. In study on species-specificity of haemagglutinating activity of the isolates, TJ-89-1 and TJ-89-2, it was found that the isolates revealed the highest haemagglutinating activity with porcine erythrocytes, showing the relatively lower haemagglutination titers with the erythrocytes from cat and rabbit. None of erythrocytes from other animals reacted with the isolates. 4. By the cross-haemagglutination inhibition test of the Isolates with reference viruses and sera, the Isolates were evidently identified as the strains of canine parvovirus-2. 5. In Physicochemical property test, it was evident that the isolates were stable in, lipid solvent, pH and heat treatment at $56^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. and contain DNA genome. 6. When seven puppies were inoculated intraorally with the isolate at HA titer of 8, 192, all of the puppies showed the symptoms of anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea and died at the 5th to 10th days post inoculation(pi). The fecal samples from all of the puppies revealed significantly high HA titers afterward the 5th days pi. Body temperature and the number of total leucocytes were slightly increased at the early stage of infection. but extremely decreased at the stage of collapse. HI titers of the sera started to increase at the 2nd to 3rd days pi reaching 512 to 1, 024 at the 4th to 5th day pi.

Wine Production Using Osmotic Solution from Dried Mango Process

  • This study evaluated the potential of utilizing the osmotic solution from dried mango processing as alternative raw material for mango wine making. Fermentation was carried out using two kinds of yeast strains Saccharomyces bayanus, Lalvin EC-1118 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Lalvin D-47 at 20$^{\circ}C$ for 28 days. Physicochemical analysis during fermentation was performed for each treatment and the resulting wine samples were analyzed for color, volatiles and sensory properties. Results of physicochemical analysis between the two fermenting samples as well as the wine samples show almost similar results regardless of the yeast strains. Wine color of sample wines after storage were not significantly different at p<0.05 and when compared with a commercial mango wine. From the volatile analysis, esters and alcohols constituted majority of the compounds. Production of several esters, alcohols, acids and terpenes were affected by yeast strain used in fermentation. Results of sensory analysis showed that wines fermented by S. bayanus EC-1118 strain was more acceptable although sensory scores between the treatments and the reference wine showed significant differences in all the attributes evaluated, except for bitterness. The utilization of osmotic solution from dried mango process could produce similar properties with existing commercial mango wines although there is still need for further work on the improvement of some sensory attributes of the mango wines.

코코넛 코이어와 피트모스 혼합 모래 토양의 물리·화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Properties of Root Zone Soil Based on Sand Blending with Coconut Coir and Peat Moss)

  • BACKGROUND: Soil amendment was necessary applied for the sand that had been used to root zone of green ground in golf course because of its low water retention power and cation exchangeable capacity. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of the mixed ratio of peat moss and coconut coir as soil amendment materials on the soil physicochemical properties applied to rootzone based on sand. METHODS AND RESULTS: The soil amendments were blended at 0, 3, 5, 7 and 10% by soil volume. The pH in the peat moss treatment was lower than that of control (0% soil amendment), and pH and electrical conductivity (EC) in the coconut coir were higher. The blending ratio of peat moss was negatively correlated with pH of rootzone soil (p<0.01), and that of coconut coir positively with EC (p<0.01). As compared with control, capillary porosity, the physical factors such as air-filled porosity, total porosity, and hydraulic conductivity of rootzone soil were increased by applying peat moss and coconut coir. For correlation coefficients between percentage of soil amendments and soil physical factors, peat moss and coconut coir were positively correlated with porosity and hydraulic conductivity (p<0.01). CONCLUSION(S): These results indicated that the application of peat moss and coconut coir affected on the change of physicochemical properties of rootzone soil, and improved soil porosity and hydraulic conductivity.

열처리 방법과 냉동 저장 기간에 따른 표고의 이화학적 및 영양학적 특성 변화 (Effects of Thermal Treatment and Freezing Storage Period on Physicochemical and Nutritional Characteristics of Shiitake Mushrooms)

  • 본 연구는 표고의 열처리 방법과 냉동 저장 기간에 따른 이화학적 및 영양학적 특성을 분석하였다. 열수 침지 및 과열 증기로 열처리된 시료를 IQF 처리한 후 함기 및 진공 포장으로 24주 동안 서로 다른 온도에서 냉동 저장하면서 시간에 따른 이화학적 특성을 분석하였다. 색도 분석에서는 열수 침지법이 색변화를 감소시켰고, 함기 포장한 시료와 낮은 온도에서 저장한 시료일수록 밝은 색을 유지하였다. 경도와 pH 측정에서는 과열 증기법이 열수 침지법보다 버섯 특성의 변화가 적게 발생하였으며, 영양학적 측면에서도 과열 증기법이 효율적인 방법이라 판단된다.

비포름알데하이드계 수지 가공제 처리한 레이온직물의 물리화학적 특성 변화와 최적 처리 조건에 관한 연구 (Physicochemical Properties of Non-Formaldehyde Resin Finished Rayon Fabric and Their Optimal Treatment Condition)

  • Rayon fabrics were treated with some commercial non-formaldehyde and low-formaldehyde resins, and then their effect on the physicochemical properties of fabrics, including formaldehyde release, tear strength, shrinkage, and wrinkle recovery, were investigated respectively. Rayons treated with non-formaldehyde resin, little formaldehyde release was observed. Considering other factors, the optimal concentration of non-formaldehyde resin was shown to be 11-13%, and curing temperature was $170{\sim}175^{\circ}C$. In case of low-formaldehyde type, 9-11% resin concentration and curing temperature of $170{\sim}180^{\circ}C$ were recommended for optimal finishing condition. The choice and combination of resins and catalysts were also important factors, and preliminary considerations before resin-finishing of rayon are also important to get much better results.
