  • In recent years, the use of natural fiber as reinforcement in polymer composites to replace synthetic fiber such as glass fiber is receiving increasing attention. Because of increasing usage according to the high demand, the cost of thermoplastic has increased rapidly over the past decades. We used a thermoplastic polymer(polypropylene) as the matrix and a lignocellulosic material(rice-husk flour) as the reinforcement filler to prepare a particle-reinforced composite to examine the possibility of using lignocellulosic material as reinforcement filler and to determine data of test results for physical, mechanical and morphological properties of the composite according to the reinforcement filler content in respect to thermoplastic polymer, In this study, PLA/PP rice-husk fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites that made by the hot press molding method according to appropriate manufacturing process was evaluated as mechanical properties.

  • These tests were conducted to get a device high strength concrete products in factory using admixtures for high strength concrete. The superplasticzer was used to compensate low slump of base concrete keeping its slump up about $6\pm1cm$. To examine the property for strength revelation of concrete using admixtures for high strength concrete, steam and standard curing were compared each other. Test results show that admixtures for high strength concrete is effective in steam curing and compressive strength 500kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is obtained at one day, 650kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 28days as added to concrete at the ratio of 10-15%, and 740kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at the ratio of 30%. Therefore admixtures for high strength concrete is effective in steam curing and make it possible to get high strength concrete using only steam curing not using autoclave curing.

  • An experimental study was carried out for the estimate of the properties of concrete contained an antiwashout admixtures. Properties of antiwashout under water concrete clearly differed from other types of concrete. This paper reports the effects of specific types, dosage of antiwashout admixtures and superplasticizer. The test results have indicated that dosage of antiwashout admixture and superplsticizer to improve the antiwashing property, fluidity and compressive strength will be approximately 2.5kg/$\textrm{m}^3$, 8~10kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ of the weight of concrete each. When cellulous ether type antiwashout admixture is added with a napthalen sulphonate superplasticizer, resulting in reduced whole properties of antiwasout under water concrete.

  • In this study, we compared a plain mortar with the CAS-system shrinkage compensation mortar for Ondol that is Korean traditional heating system. The Ondol mortar is necessary to have properties as non-crack, fine flatness and stability for thermal changes. especially, mortar'crack prevention is to be most important property in Ondol mortar. To develope the stable material on the crack-prevention, we used to calcium-sulfo-aluminate(CSA)system in shrinkage compensation mortar. And so, we confirmed the effects of calcium-sulfo-aluminate(CSA) system for mortar's physical properties such as setting time, compressive strength and expansion ratio for crack prevention. The initial and final setting time of the CSA mortar is faster than plain mortar about 2hours. And, Compressive strength increased about 20% that plain mortar. The crack length per unit area, plain mortar is 0.426∼0.481m/m2. The Results of apartment construction field test, the shrinkage compensation mortar is excellent about the crack-reduce effect.

  • Amount used of admixture fare is increasing for concrete economic efficiency and ability security. Security of economic efficiency and ability can expect by use of this admixture fare but is displaying a lot of problems on early age strength hold by hydrate delay relatively. Specially, in the case of construction site, concrete strength can speak that interrelation is high with mold removal of forms time. Therefore, is economical and need examination of plan that can secure robber within 3 days using admixture fare such as fly ash and blast furnace slage differential speech to secure function. In this study, adding liquid admixture within 1% of a binding agent quantity to examine these problem with physical characteristic after hardening ago specially, strength change at standard and air dry curing of observed change in priority. Air dried and water curing total strength enhancement effects appeared by thing which is in case of add test result liquid admixture by below 1% and strength deputy by passage of age could know is not big.

  • In this study, a FE model tuning method using experimental modal data was suggested after examining all the published conventional methods. The idea of this method is introducing scale factors to maintain both the structural connectivity and the consistency in the corrected stiffness matrix which makes it always possible to interpret the stiffness elements with the corresponding physical configuration of the targeting structure. The scale factors are determined to minimize the objective function of eigen-properties. The proposed method was tested to determine the joint stiffness of a T shaped beam. The test results were also compared with the tuned stiffness obtained from a probed commercial package (SYSTUNE) and found that this method is very accurate and compatible.

  • MEMS structures generally have been fabricated using surface-machining method, but the interface failure between silicon substrate and evaporated thin film frequently takes place due to the residual stress inducing by the applied the various loads. And the very important physical property in the heated environment is the linear coefficient of thermal expansion. Therefore this paper studied the residual stress caused the thermal loads in the thin film and introduced the simple method to measure the trend of the residual stress by the indentation. Specimens were made of materials such as Al, Au and Cu and thermal load was applied repeatedly. The residual stress was measured by nano-indentation using AFM and FEA. The existence of the residual stress due to thermal load was verified by the experimental results. The indentation length of the thermal loaded specimens increased minimum 11.8% comparing with the virgin thin film caused by tensile residual stress. The finite element analysis results are similar to indentation test.

  • Lately, rapid expansion of construction industry and following increment of demand for concrete in the construction created shortage of aggregates in the nation. Supplement of good quality aggregate is an immediate issue for the construction industry to solve. Therefore, this study evaluated a possibility of using coal mine waste collceted from Kwangwon-do region as a source of aggregate in manufacturing polymer concretes which have high strength and high durability. First, aggregates were obtained by crushing coal mine waste and polymer concrete was manufactured using these aggregate. Mechanical property test results for the polymer concrete showed that the coal mine waste aggregates were acceptable to use as a replacement of the aggregate in polymer concrete manufacture.

  • A microcapsule water slurry is a latent heat-storage material having a low melting point. In this study, the thermal properties of a microcapsule water slurry are measured. The physical properties of the test microcapsule water slurry, i.e., thermal conductivity, specific heat, latent heat, and density, are measured, and the results are discussed for the temperature region of solid and liquid phases of the dispersion material (paraffin). It is clarified that Eucken's equation can be applied to the estimation of the thermal conductivity of the microcapsule water slurry. Useful correlation equations of the thermal properties of the microcapsule water slurry are proposed in terms of the temperature and concentration ratio of the microcapsule water slurry constituents.
