PURPOSE: The purpose of this investigation was to conduct a systemic review of studies that examine the effects of strengthening exercise on gait ability and GMFM in children with cerebral palsy and propose a standard for cerebral palsy therapy based on a meta-analysis of the studies. METHODS: An extensive literature search was conducted using databases including the KISS (Korean studies Information Service System), RISS, DBpia, PubMed and ScienceDirect, with the following search terms: 'Strengthening Exercise,' 'Resistance Exercise,' 'Gait ability,' 'GMFM' or 'cerebral palsy'. RESULTS: Eleven studies were included in this review and the duration of the intervention varied from 5 to 24 weeks. The number of application per week was mostly 2-3 times, while 5 intervention per week was adopted in a few cases. The total number of intervention applied varied from 18 to 36 and the respective effect sizes of GMFM on crawling and sitting were very high (1.075 and .881) while those of GMFM on standing and walking were very low(.206 and .125). The effect size was for gait speed was only .221. CONCLUSION: Trunk exercise and lower limb exercise effectively improved GMFM in children with cerebral palsy, resulting in improved outcomes in sitting and crawling. The results of this study will be useful for designing evidencebased cerebral palsy therapy programs.
The objective of this research is not only making the planning guides regarding a small-scale residential remodeling but also examining closely the social roles of the interior design for the poor and the underprivileged class by analyzing the residential remodeling cases. The scope of research includes 40 remodeling houses free of charge which are broadcasted in the TV program 'Love House'. Taking in consideration the characteristics of users like parentless or single-parent families and families with disabled persons, this study uses the spatial approach, user's convenience approach and psychological problem solving approach, in terms of the methodology. In result of the analysis of their interior design, first of all, it is essential solving the problem of limited house space by comparison with the family number. Second, the universal design concept for the family with disabled persons(72.5%), old persons or children is strengthened guaranteeing privacy in small and old interior space. Third, the interior design is focused in increasing communication among family members, because mental and physical obstacle would obstruct accessibility among them. This research shows the importance of the interior design which makes wide social roles contributing to create "welfare society".
Purpose: This study explored the factors influencing the health-related life satisfaction of people with disabilities who engaged in physical activity, by age and gender. Methods: A secondary analysis was conducted of the 2020 Third Disability and Life Dynamics Panel (2021). The participants were 2,796 people who performed regular physical activity at least once a week. The variables selected were disability-related factors (degree of disability, multiple disabilities, and type of disability), sociodemographic factors (age, gender, living alone, and mean monthly family income), and health-related factors (amount of physical activity, self-esteem, depression, chronic disease, subjective health, and health-related life satisfaction). Descriptive statistics, the chi-square test, the t-test, two-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Results: In total, 58.0% of participants were male, and 42.0% were female. For age groups, 14.4% were children/adolescents (0-19 years), 42.6% were adults (20-59 years), and 43.0% were seniors (≥60 years). The mean score for health-related life satisfaction was 5.0±2.15 out of 10. Adults and seniors whose level of physical activity met or exceeded recommendations had higher subjective health. Moreover, men had better subjective health than women in seniors. Health-related life satisfaction was higher among those who had higher self-esteem, were not depressed, did not have chronic diseases, and had better subjective health. Conclusion: Gender significantly influenced health-related life satisfaction in children/ adolescents and seniors. Disability-related factors were significant in adults, and health-related factors were significant in all age groups. Therefore, these factors should be considered when designing interventions to promote subjective health and health-related life satisfaction of people with disabilities.

The purpose of this study was to provide information necessary for development of the applications that could facilitate the prevention and management of obesity in children with intellectual disabilities and to present improvement measure for development of practical applications. Mobile applications for prevention and management of obesity for children with intellectual disabilities need to be configured to enable effective flow of information and services delivered between parents and children with disabilities through applications. This configuration is expected to allow effective obesity control to be derived through parental involvement in the process of motivation.. The composition of contents consists of three parts: nutrition, exercise(physical activity), and lifestyle. It is desirable for each content to be applied in a simple but easy-to-understand method, reflecting the characteristics of an intellectually disabled child. In addition, this study presented the user expansion and their continuous involvement through interface simplification, alert function, reward, voice recognition and subtitle support strategies in consideration of the characteristics of the children with intellectual disabilities.

The purpose of this study was to identify improvement in locomotor skills by physical activity programs. Method of this study indicates that the current literature (2004-2015) were reviewed and the data from 24 studies with 518 disabled children were analyzed by using CMA3 (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis ver.3) program. Analyzing the data of the primary studies included gender, age, type of disabilities, duration of the physical activity program intervention(weeks, session per week, minutes per session), run, gallop, hop, leap, horizontal jump, and slide. For sensitivity analysis, publication bias and outlier were reviewed. Results of analysis indicates that the overall effect size of improvement in locomotor skills by physical activity programs was 1.143. There were large effect size in categorical analyses. Autistic spectrum among type of disabilities was 1.697 and run among 6 of locomotor skills was 1.019. 8~10 aged was 0.920 and the intervention of 100~120minutes(1.261)per session, 3sessions(1.078) per week, 16~20(1.587)weeks was found to be more larger than the others. In conclusion, improvement in locomotor skills by program participation showed that treated group was 37% more effective than control group.

Assessments were conducted before intervention, after 6 weeks and 12 weeks of intervention on gross motor function and performance, static and dynamic balance. Results : Although there was significant difference in the gross motor function and performance after 12 weeks of intervention, the mean scores of the experimental group increased more after 12 weeks of intervention than those of the control group with significant difference between the groups. Although there was significant difference in the static and dynamic balance after 12 weeks of intervention, the mean values of the experimental group decreased more after 12 weeks of intervention than those of the control group with significant difference between the groups.
