Physical therapists should under stand motor control models and apply various models to evaluation and treatment of neurologically impaired patients. Thus, this paper reviews motor control models and applications in clinical settings. Assumptions and limitations of reflex models, hierarchical models, and systems models are presented. This paper also delineates goals and dissatisfaction of neurologic rehabilitation approaches for neurologically impaired patients. Muscle reeducation approach, neurotherapeutic facilitation approach, and contemporary task-oriented approach are explained.
This study investigated the correlation between the level of consistency in fashion show models' appearance and design concept through a statistical and qualitative analysis of the S/S Paris Collection 2014. The following conclusions have been drawn in this study. First, the percentage of models of color was very low in regards to the physical appearance of models; in addition, there was a higher percentage of Caucasian models for collections with a high level of consistency in models' physical appearance. Collections with a high percentage of models of color indicate more casual design concepts and the promotion of diversity in racial background is considered more effective for street fashion. Second, collections with a high level of consistency in models' physical appearance tend to control various elements that constitute a physical appearance through more detailed planning and stage direction. Third, there is a tendency to reinforce design concepts by creating a consistency in the overall physical appearance of models. This affirms that their physical appearance is determined by brand (i.e. designer) and is used to maximize a design concept delivery. The results of this study suggests that the physical appearance of models must be determined in line with the design concept versus detailed planning that must consider audience perspectives as well as adjust the show's length and the interval between each model appearing on the stage.
This paper is to present linkage parameter to integrate statistical models and physical models for accelerated life test. Statistical models represent the relationship of probability distribution and life. Physical models show the relationship of life and stress. Moreover, this study proposes the four steps for construction of integrated models for accelerated life test using linkage parameter. Finally, this paper develops new integrated models such as extreme value distribution-general Eyring, linearly increasing failure rate function-general Eyring, etc., and estimates various reliability measures.
Background: Muscle undergoes change continuously with aging. Sarcopenia, in which muscle mass decrease with aging, is associated with various diseases, the risk of falling, and the deterioration of quality of life. Obesity and sarcopenia also have a synergy effect on the disease of the older adults. Objects: This study examined the risk factors for sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, and sarcopenia without obesity and developed prediction models. Methods: This machine-learning study used the 2008-2011 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys in the analysis. After data curation, 5,563 older participants were selected, of whom 1,169 had sarcopenia, 538 had sarcopenic obesity, and 631 had sarcopenia without obesity; the remaining 4,394 were normal. Decision tree and random forest models were used to identify risk factors. Results: The risk factors for sarcopenia chosen by both methods were body mass index (BMI) and duration of moderate physical activity; those for sarcopenic obesity were sex, BMI, and duration of moderate physical activity; and those for sarcopenia without obesity were BMI and sex. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves of all prediction models exceeded 0.75. BMI could predict sarcopenia-related disease. Conclusion: Risk factors for sarcopenia-related diseases should be identified and programs for sarcopenia-related disease prevention should be developed. Data-mining research using population data should be conducted to enhance the effectiveness of early treatment for people with sarcopenia-related diseases through predictive models.
This paper is to explore examples of complementary use of digital and physical models. The reason for this is to suggest a method for commercializing architectural design considering high technology. These cases are the practical and educational environment in which design processes based on digital computation technology are performed. Also, in this environment, analog design media (eg, physical models) still being used in the design process using digital computing. Indeed, in this environment, designers are exploiting digital and physical models to address the types of risks that can be discovered when designs are implemented and these risks. By analyzing these cases, we define the roles of digital and physical models to visualize and resolve risks. This paper focuses on one of method as "prototyping", which is used in the field of machinery and is a difficult method to carry out in the conventional design process. In particular, designers look for benefits that encourage designers in utilizing current digital computation technologies (eg, parametric design, simulation, building information models, and digital fabrication). Among the roles of the physical model, roles that can not be replaced by the digital model are explored. It is clear that this case-based study has difficulty in generalizing the design method. However, it helps the designers of today's practical and educational environment to verify and design the actual details of construction and operation when applying and developing unfamiliar materials and methods in the field of architecture.
[Purpose] Many studies have observed a high prevalence of erectile dysfunction among individuals performing physical activity in less leisure-time. However, this relationship in patients with type 2 diabetic patients is not well studied. In exposure outcome studies with ordinal outcome variables, investigators often try to make the outcome variable dichotomous and lose information by collapsing categories. Several statistical models have been developed to make full use of all information in ordinal response data, but they have not been widely used in public health research. In this paper, we discuss the application of two statistical models to determine the association of physical inactivity with erectile dysfunction among patients with type 2 diabetes. [Methods] A total of 204 married men aged 20-60 years with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes at the outpatient unit of the Department of Endocrinology at PSG hospitals during the months of May and June 2019 were studied. We examined the association between physical inactivity and erectile dysfunction using proportional odds ordinal logistic regression models and continuation ratio models. [Results] The proportional odds model revealed that patients with diabetes who perform leisure time physical activity for over 40 minutes per day have reduced odds of erectile dysfunction (odds ratio=0.38) across the severity categories of erectile dysfunction after adjusting for age and duration of diabetes. [Conclusion] The present study suggests that physical inactivity has a negative impact on erectile function. We observed that the simple logistic regression model had only 75% efficiency compared to the proportional odds model used here; hence, more valid estimates were obtained here.
This article reviews the concepts of motor ability and motor skill and the models, theories, and treatment approaches of motor contorl. Reflex, hierarchical, and systems models of motor control are discussed. And muscle reeducation, neurodevelopment, motor relearning program, and contemporary task-oriented approach is also discussed. We consider that the concept of motor control is being changed and the treatment approach also is being changed. There are a number of reasons, the first is traditional trteatment approach has limitation. Second is theories of motor control is contineously developed. Third is new approach is coming to us. therefore, the therapists shoulder strive for acquisition of motor skill and motor ability. This article hope the successful integration of models and treatment approaches and its application in physical therapy practice.

This research is to present experimental materials model of high strength concrete for prediction of fire safety of structural members based on physical properties of materials during heating up to 800$^{circ}C$. The following conclusions are drawn from this study. First of all, between 100 to 200 $^{circ}C$, the physical models of concrete such as specific heat and thermal conductivity, show visible degradation, regardless of concrete strength. Second, between 300 to 600$^{circ}C$, the physical models of the 29MPa and 49MPa concrete show degradation continually at these temperatures. Finally, beyond 600$^{circ}C$, the physical models of 49MPa strength concrete show larger degradation than 29MPa strength concrete due to rise of pore pressure and melting of the interface between aggregate and cement paste.
Our ability to predict hydration behavior is becoming increasingly relevant to the concrete community as modelers begin to link material performance to the dynamics of material properties and chemistry. At early ages, the properties of concrete are changing rapidly due to chemical transformations that affect mechanical, thermal and transport responses of the composite. At later ages, the resulting, nano-, micro-, meso- and macroscopic structure generated by hydration will control the life-cycle performance of the material in the field. Ultimately, creep, shrinkage, chemical and physical durability, and all manner of mechanical response are linked to hydration. As a way to enable the modeling community to better understand hydration, a review of hydration models is presented offering insights into their mathematical origins and relationships one-to-the-other. The quest for a universal model begins in the 1920's and continues to the present, and is marked by a number of critical milestones. Unfortunately, the origins and physical interpretation of many of the most commonly used models have been lost in their overuse and the trail of citations that vaguely lead to the original manuscripts. To help restore some organization, models were sorted into four categories based primarily on their mathematical and theoretical basis: (1) mass continuity-based, (2) nucleation-based, (3) particle ensembles, and (4) complex multi-physical and simulation environments. This review provides a concise catalogue of models and in most cases enough detail to derive their mathematical form. Furthermore, classes of models are unified by linking them to their theoretical origins, thereby making their derivations and physical interpretations more transparent. Models are also used to fit experimental data so that their characteristics and ability to predict hydration calorimetry curves can be compared. A sort of evolutionary tree showing the progression of models is given along with some insights into the nature of future work yet needed to develop the next generation of cement hydration models.

This study investigates the effects of visual texture on color emotion and establishes prediction models for color emotion by both physical color properties and visual texture characteristics. A variety of fabrics including silk, cotton, and flax were colored by digital textile printing according to chromatic hue and tone combinations that are evaluated in terms of color emotion. Subjective visual texture ratings are also obtained for gray-colored same fabrics to those used in color emotion tests. As a result, fabric clusters by visual texture factors showed significant differences in color emotion factors that are primarily affected by physical color properties. Finally prediction models for color emotion factors by both physical color properties and visual texture clusters were established, which has a potential to be used to explain color emotion according to the visual texture characteristics of fabrics.
