The photovoltaic module has the characteristic of changing its output characteristics depending on the amount of radiation and temperature, where the arrays that connect them in series and parallel also have the same characteristics. These characteristics require the MPPT technique to find the maximum power point. Existing P&O and IncCond cannot find the global maximum power point (GMPP) for partial shading. Moreover, in the case of Improved-GMPPT and Enhanced Search-Skip-Judge-GMPPT, GMPP due to partial shading can be found, but the variation in the open voltage during temperature fluctuations will affect the operation of the Skip and will not be able to perform accurate MPPT operation. In this study, we analyzed the correlation between voltage, current, and power under solar module and array conditions. We also proposed a technique to find the maximum power point even for temperature fluctuations using not only the amount of radiation but also the temperature coefficient. The proposed control technique was verified through simulations and experiments by constructing a 2.5 kW single-phase solar power generation system.
Recent global environmental pollution and contamination and depletion of limited fossil energy prices surge as an energy source to replace it depending on wind, fuel cells and solar power and other renewable and pollution free renewable energy is of interest in increase. The photovoltaic systems are pollution-free, unlimited energy source, and easy to install because it is rated as the most valuable renewable energy sector and the prevalence is spreading throughout the world. Photovoltaic systems at one end of the stable development of the role that solar power inverter applications can be the most important. No matter how much power the solar arrays, even if the inverter output in the normally if he's no use. These photovoltaic inverters to evaluate the performance of the inverter efficiency measures that can be called directly. This way of measuring the efficiency of solar inverters in Europe efficiency and CEC efficiency is currently being used. In this paper, until now about how to measure the efficiency of solar power inverter technology and the new Korean Meteorological Solar Insolation data analysis to derive weights based on this inverter efficiency for Korea is to offer.

The number of applications of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in power generation grids has increased in the last decade because of their ability to generate efficient and reliable power in a variety of low installation in domestic applications. Various PV converter topologies have therefore emerged, among which the modular multilevel converter (MMC) is very attractive due to its modularity and transformerless features. The modeling and control of the MMC has become an interesting issue due to the extremely large expansion of PV power plants at the residential scale and due to the power quality requirement of this application. This paper proposes a novel control method of MMC which is used to directly integrate the photovoltaic arrays with the power grid. Traditionally, a closed loop control has been used, although circulating current control and capacitors voltage balancing in each individual leg have remained unsolved problem. In this paper, the integration of model predictive control (MPC) and traditional closed loop control is proposed to control the MMC structure in a PV grid tied mode. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed control model.
In a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system, a PWM inverter is used for the connection between the photovoltaic arrays and the utility. The do current becomes pulsated when the conventional inverter system operates in the continuous current mode and dc current pulsation causes the distortion of the ac current waveform. To reduce pulsation of dc input current, This paper presents a Buck-Boost PWM power inverter and its application for residential photovoltaic system. The PWM power inverter is realized by combining two sets of a high frequency Buck-Boost chopper and by making it operate in the discontinuous conduction mode. In this paper, we show the Buck-Boost PWM power inverter circuit, its equivalent circuit and basic differential equations and the power flow characteristics are clarified when the proposed Inverter is interconnected with the utility lines. In conclusion, the proposed inverter system provides a sinusoidal ac current for domestic loads and the utility line with unity power factor
For the economic management of photovoltaic power plants, it is necessary to regularly monitor the panels within the plants to detect malfunctions. Thermal infrared image cameras are generally used for monitoring, since malfunctioning panels emit higher temperatures compared to those that are functioning. Recently, technologies that observe photovoltaic arrays by mounting thermal infrared cameras on UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) are being developed for the efficient monitoring of large-scale photovoltaic power plants. However, the technologies developed until now have had the shortcomings of having to analyze the images manually to detect malfunctioning panels, which is time-consuming. In this paper, we propose an automatic photovoltaic panel area extraction algorithm for thermal infrared images acquired via a UAV. In the thermal infrared images, panel boundaries are presented as obvious linear features, and the panels are regularly arranged. Therefore, we exaggerate the linear features with a vertical and horizontal filtering algorithm, and apply a modified hierarchical histogram clustering method to extract candidates of panel boundaries. Among the candidates, initial panel areas are extracted by exclusion editing with the results of the photovoltaic array area detection. In this step, thresholding and image morphological algorithms are applied. Finally, panel areas are refined with the geometry of the surrounding panels. The accuracy of the results is evaluated quantitatively by manually digitized data, and a mean completeness of 95.0%, a mean correctness of 96.9%, and mean quality of 92.1 percent are obtained with the proposed algorithm.
In this paper a novel tracking system is described, regarding the influence of shadow between array, aimed at improving the efficiency of PV tracking system. The loss by influence of those shadow can be compensated for by means of control algorithm of the tracking device. The paper suggests a method controlling an altitude for length which is received the shadow influence of PV array. By using an azimuth of current solar position and the length between arrays, the controller of tracking device is able to calculate the length between actual arrays and make a comparison of the shadow length at a specific time with the length between arrays. In the paper, we develop the control algorithm able to minimize the loss caused by the influence of shadow on the PV tracking system, and compared this with conventional output system. The controller has been tested in the laboratory with proposed algorithm and shows excellent performance
This paper proposes the microprocessor-based step-up chopper system used for the battery charge from the photovoltaic arrays. The proposed scheme tracks the maximum power point by analyzing the voltage and power phasors which vary as the solar irradiation quantity. In this system, protection for the overcharge and overdischarge in also provided.
A novel decision reference based method for the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of PV arrays is presented in this paper. The proposed decision reference was derived from a simplified solar cell model. This method solves the problems of conventional MPPT algorithms, such as oscillation of the operating point at the steady state and confusion under rapidly changing insolation. It is shown by simulation and experimental results that the method properly tracks a rapidly changing insolation profile. The signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the new decision reference is also higher than those of conventional P&O and INC methods. An updating subroutine was included in the proposed MPPT algorithm to compensate for temperature and aging effects.
The recent interest in distributed generation (DG) due to the opening of the electricity market and the need for alternatives to conventional fossil fuel-based electricity generation has created renewed interest in grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) systems. Many studies are being performed at the power system level to examine the impacts of grid-connected PV systems and several models for PV arrays have been proposed in the literature. However, the complexity of these models and difficulties of implementing them in various software programs can be deterrents to their use. This paper proposes a robust and flexible PV device model suitable for dynamic and transient studies where the PV array's non-linear DC characteristics are important. The model's implementation in software is straightforward and it can even be constructed using standard software library components, as demonstrated using PSCAD/EMTDC.
Many photovoltaic (PV) systems are being developed and installed. For a PV developer, simulations are required before the experimental testing. However, most simulation tools do not offer data libraries for PV systems, so that some Institutes who try to use such software will be in difficulty. In this paper, simulations of performance and stability have been carried out using the software PSPICE. In this paper, the modelling of solar cell arrays, photovoltaic modules, PV generators, batteries and drive systems is carried out based on mathematical equivalence circuits and available data, and the models are converted into a data library for PSPICE that is user friendly. System variations can be modeled by simple parameter variation. To verify the accuracy of the simulation library, various models were run and compared to known systems.
