The paper addresses modeling and analysis of a grid-connected photovoltaic generation system (PV system). PSCAD/EMIDC. an industry standard simulation tool for studying the transient behavior of electric power system and apparatus. is used to conduct all aspects of model implementation and to carry out extensive simulation study. An equivalent circuit model of a solar cell has been used for modeling solar array. A PWM voltage source inverter (VSI) and its current control scheme have been implemented. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is employed for drawing the maximum available energy from the PV array. Comprehensive simulation results are presented to examine PV array behaviors and PV system control performance in response to irradiation changes. In addition, dynamic responses of PV array and system to network fault conditions are simulated and analysed
A photovoltaic panel is a device that, through the photovoltaic effect, converts luminous energy into electric energy. Photovoltaic generation system uses infinity of sofa energy, cost of fuel is needless and there is no air pollution or waste occurrence. This paper summarizes the results of these efforts by offering a photovoltaic system structure in 50kW large scale applications installed in Chosun University dormitory roof and simulation tool. This describes configuration of utility interactive photovoltaic system which generated power supply for dormitory. In this Paper represent 50kW utility PV system examination result.
Agrovoltaic system is a concept that combines agriculture and photovoltaic (PV) system by applying a PV system to the upper part of farmland. In this study, we developed a folding drive system for an agrophotovoltaic (agroPV) module (150 Wp/4×9 cell) exclusively for pear farming with 10 kW capacity. The system was installed in 2018, and the growth characteristics and quantity of pears under the agroPV folding system have been investigated for 2 years. We found that thare is no differences of the characteristics of pears grown under the agroPV system compared to the pears grown without the system (control) except the percutaneous color L of pear. However, the weight and sugar content of the pear grown under the agroPV system were decreased by 4.5% and 1.3°Bx compared to that of the control, respectively. We assume that this is mainly due to the influenced of the delay in flowering as upper PV module block some of sunlight. However, interestingly, when we deleyed the pear harvesting by 2 weeks, the weight of pears increased by 8.5% and they became nearly the sample as the control pears harvested 2 week earlier. In addition, we also found that the agroPV modules decrease the fall rate of pear when the typoon struck, also it mitigates cold damage by 38% during April by protecting from frost. In conclusion, it can be said that the agroPV system help to protect target crops from the environmental conditions and the quality of the crops are similar to the that of control.
The photovoltaic(PV) industries have been increasing steadily above averaged 30%. Japan, Germany and USA have been playing a leading part in photovoltaic industry. In this paper, we review status of the global PV market and distribution around these countries. From the results, we will intend to supply the useful materials for domestic PV distribution.

As climate change and environmental pollution become one of the biggest global issues today, new renewable energy, especially solar photovoltaic (PV) system, is getting great attention as a sustainable energy source. However, initial investment cost of PV system is considerable, and thus, it is crucial to predict electricity generation accurately before installation of the system. This study analyzes the loss ratio of solar photovoltaic electricity generation from the actual PV system monitoring data to predict electricity generation more accurately in advance. This study is carried out with the following five steps: (i) Data collection of actual electricity generation from PV system and the related information; (ii) Calculation of simulation-based electricity generation; (iii) Comparative analysis between actual electricity generation and simulation-based electricity generation based on the seasonality; (iv) Stochastic approach by defining probability distribution of loss ratio between actual electricity generation and simulation-based electricity generation ; and (v) Case study by conducting Monte-Carlo Simulation (MCS) based on the probability distribution function of loss ratio. The results of this study could be used (i) to estimate electricity generation from PV system more accurately before installation of the system, (ii) to establish the optimal maintenance strategy for the different application fields and the different season, and (iii) to conduct feasibility study on investment at the level of life cycle.
Photovoltaic(PV) system is one of power generation systems. Solar light in PV system is like the fuel of the car. The quantity of electricity generation, therefore, is fully dependent on the available quantity of solar light on the system of each site. If a utility can predict the solar power generation on a planned site, it may be possible to set up an appropriate PV system there. It may be also possible to objectively evaluate the performances of existing solar systems. Based on the theories of astronomy and meteorology, in this paper, Perez model is simulated to estimate the available quantity of solar lights on the prevailed photovoltaic systems. Consequently the conditions for optimal power generation of each PV system can be analyzed. And the maximum quantity of power generation of each system can be also estimated by applying assumed efficiency of PV system. Perez model is simulated in this paper, and the result is compared with the data of the same model of Meteonorm. Simulated site is Daejeon, Korea with typical meteorological year(TMY) data of 1991~2010.

A photovoltaic (PV) system uses an AC module integrated converter (MIC) to operate PV cells at a maximum power point (MPP) and for high efficiency. The MPP of a PV cell varies depending on partial shading conditions, and loss occurs differently according to the configuration method of the PV-MIC. Therefore, this study compares the losses of passive components and power semiconductors according to the partial shading conditions of the PV module. Theoretical loss analysis is performed using parameters for the datasheet and PSIM simulation results. Analysis results verify that the one-stage PV-MIC demonstrates high efficiency.
This paper presents a high-efficiency power conditioning system (PCS) for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) modules. The proposed PCS consists of a step-up DC-DC converter and a single-phase DC-AC inverter for the grid-connected PV modules. A soft-switching step-up DC-DC converter is proposed to generate a high DC-link voltage from the low PV module voltage with a high-efficiency. A DC-link voltage controller is presented for constant DC-link voltage regulation. A half-bridge inverter is used for the single-phase DC-AC inverter for grid connection. A grid current controller is suggested to supply PV electrical power to the power grid with a unity power factor. Experimental results are obtained from a 180 W grid-connected PV module system using the proposed PCS. The proposed PCS achieves a high power efficiency of 93.0 % with an unity power factor for a 60 Hz / 120 Vrms AC power grid.
This paper proposes a seamless MPPT operation mode transfer method of photovoltaic system. The photovoltaic system consists of a DC-DC boost converter, a DC-Link, and a 3-level neutral point clamp (NPC) type inverter. The PV voltage fluctuates due to the output characteristics of the solar pane1 depending on the irradiation amount and the temperature. The photovoltaic system requires seamless MPPT mode transfer method that the discontinuity does not occur in order to supply the stable power to system without affecting the fluctuation of the PV voltage. MPPT operation is divided into two modes by the voltage reference. Under the condition that the PV voltage is below 650V, the DC-DC boost converter performs MPPT through duty control based on perturb & observe (P&O) method, and the inverter conducts DC-link voltage and grid current controls in synchronous reference frame. On the other hand, when the PV voltage exceeds above 650V, inverter performs MPPT in accordance with the variation of DC-link voltage control while the converter stops operating. Two MPPT operation modes is smoothly transferred through the proposed method that DC-link voltage or grid current commands are appropriately adjusted from the certain criteria. The feasibility of the MPPT operation mode transfer method is verified using a 10kW solar photovoltaic system, experimental results have good performances that the fluctuation of PV current is reduced to 100%.
