  • Saxifraga cortusifolia Siebold & Zucc. (Saxifragaceae, sect. Irregulares, ser. Rufescentes), a species considered endemic along mountain streams throughout Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu in Japan, was discovered as a wild population in the Cheona Valley in Haean-dong, Jeju-si on Jeju-do Island of Korea. The population consisted of three subpopulations occupying narrow areas 10 × 10 m2, 5 × 5 m2, and 10 × 5 m2 in size. The number of individuals in the three subpopulations was confirmed to exceed 100. Most of the individuals were on or below rocks at the edge of the valley. A morphological description, detailed photos, and a key to related taxa in Korea are presented.

  • The travellers using social media leave their location history in the form of trajectories. These trajectories can be bridged for acquiring information, required for future recommendation for the future travelers, who are new to that location, providing all sort of information. In this paper, we propose a personalized travel path recommendation scheme based on social life log. By taking advantage of two kinds of social media such as travelogue and community contributed photos, the proposed scheme can not only be personalized to user's travel interest but also be able to recommend a travel path rather than individual Points of Interest (POIs). It also maps both user's and routes' textual descriptions to the topical package space to get user topical package model and route topical package model (i.e., topical interest, cost, time and season).

In order to achieve the purpose, we investigate how the environmental information is used for their daily walking both in residential and commercial areas considering the characteristics of walking. In the investigation, interview to the persons concerned is carried out and all the conversation with them is recorded with a voice recorder. Moreover, the environmental information that may become clues is plotted on a map together with photos. The results are as follows; (1) Environmental information which the blind persons use is different depending on the role of its own of place, such as place confirmation, direction decision, distance understanding. (2) It is demonstrated that the information acquisition from sound is effective when they especially understand place and location.
