  • The photographic characteristics have been studied in relation with various molecular weights of Polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP). The shape of silver halogen crystals by physical ripening of mixture of photographic gelatine and various molecular weights of PVP were observed. Then, the photographic characteristics have been studied by chemical ripening. Results were concluded as follows: 1. All of the crystals have formed in the shape of (100) or (111). 2. Photographic characteristics were inferior by using PVP of higher molecular weight. 3. Photographic characteristics were superior by using PVP of lower molecular weight. 4. Photographic characteristic were compared with various Emulsion thickness and Tested Resolving power.

  • In this paper, we describe a study on the relationship between photographic emulsion manufacture and hardening test of films. The hardeners were prepared by condensation of equimolar amounts of trichlorotriazine with benzene- or naphthalene-based amino or oxy acids at 0 to 5$^{\circ}C$ and at pH 7, and used as hardening agents for gelatin. The hardening test of photographic emulsion was studied at pH 5.5. For example I(R=ONa) had strong hardening properties, I substituted with an aminobenzosulfonate moiety (R=$NHC_6H_4-p-SO_3Me$ where Me = K, Na) was a much weaker gelatin hardener, and when substituted with amino- or oxynaphthalene derivative (II, III) did not harden gelatin at all. Compound with 2 dichlorotriazine groups as IV exhibited strong hardening properties. The hardener can be used in photographic emulsion of film and showed very good hardening effect.

  • The symmetric naphthothiazolo carbocyanine is of industrial importance as red-sensitizing dye in the spectral sensitization of emulsion microcrystals in negative film-making. The stability on the solvents of naphthothiazolo carbocyanine dye was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and then all of solvents were stabilized sensitizer. The maximum absorption peak range in various solvents was $600nm{\sim}612nm$. But it was identified that only methanol can be used to photographic emulsion.

  • In this study, we made experiments the preparation of silver halide microcrystals, physical ripening, chemical ripening, spectral sensitivity, additives and coating in order to develop medical laser scanner film which has photographic characteristic suitable for exposure to He-Ne and Ar laser. In the practice of sensitometry, the photographic material is exposed to a known quantity and quality of radiant energy, developed under standard conditions, and the densities resulting from the various exposures are then measured. The results are usually expressed in graphic form as curves, and from these curves numerical values are derived which are used to specify the characteristics of the material.

  • Various materials including conductive, dielectric, and semi-conductive materials, constitute suitable candidates for printed electronics. Metal nanoparticles (e.g. Ag, Cu, Ni, Au) are typically used in conductive ink. However, easily oxidized metals, such as Cu, must be processed at low temperatures and as such, photonic sintering has gained significant attention as a new low-temperature processing method. This method is based on the principle of selective heating of a strongly absorbent film, without light-source-induced damage to the transparent substrate. However, Cu nanoparticles used in inks are susceptible to the growth of a native copper-oxide layer on their surface. Copper-oxide-nanoparticle ink subjected to a reduction mechanism has therefore been introduced in an attempt to achieve long-term stability and reliability. In this work, a flash-light sintering process was used for the reduction of an inkjet-printed Cu(II)O thin film to a Cu film. Using a photographic lighting instrument, the intensity of the light (or intense pulse light) was controlled by the charged power (Ws). The resulting changes in the structure, as well as the optical and electrical properties of the light-irradiated Cu(II)O films, were investigated. A Cu thin film was obtained from Cu(II)O via photo-thermal reduction at 2500 Ws. More importantly, at one shot of 3000 Ws, a low sheet resistance value ($0.2527{\Omega}/sq.$) and a high resistivity (${\sim}5.05-6.32{\times}10^{-8}{\Omega}m$), which was ~3.0-3.8 times that of bulk Cu was achieved for the ~200-250-nm-thick film.

  • Recently, digital imaging is frequently used by crime scene investigators. However, the admissibility of digital photographic evidence in court is often raised because of the fact that digital photographs are more easily modified than film-based photographs. Therefore, in this article, the researcher reviewed some basic theories and legal considerations related with police crime scene investigations in Korea and The United States. This article is presented in the hope of clearing up some of the possibilities of falsifying photographic evidences and in the hope of setting the strict the rules of evidence regarding digital evidence in this county.

The stability on the solvents of benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and then all of solvents were stabilized sensitizer. The maximum absorption peak range in methanol, acetonitrile, acetone, DMF, dichloromethane, chloroform solvents was $501nm{\sim}511nm$. But it was identified that only methanol can be used to photographic emulsion. The photographic characteristics have contrast of 2.8, speed of 50-55$(lux{\cdot}sec)^{-1}$, fog of 0.07-0.08, respectively.

  • Asymetric system have been introduced in these years by KODAK company nam of Insight system for the purpose of improve the chest image. We have had a problem of chest radiology that it is very difficult to visualize the lung field and modiastinal region at one shot. That's why we are the RT using the technique of high voltage hard quality radiography in chest radiography. Also it is known the c-type wide latitude film can lift up the density of mediastinal structures. Authors investigated the photographic characteristics and physical structure of Insight system. Method 1. Investigated the structure of Emulsion layer. Calculated the particle size of Insight system using SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope). 2. Photographic characteristics has been compared the Insight system with the ortho KM/MG combination in $60{\sim}120kV$ range. Results 1. The particle size of backside film were investigated about 2 times larger that of front side film. 2. The front and backscreen's thickness ratio was detected 1 : 3.87, that the backscreen's thickness was thicker than frontscreen. 3. At the view point of photographic characteristics the frontside of insight system make up the contrast, backside make up the density at low exposure lesion.

  • The symmetric naphthothiazolo carbocyanine is of industrial importance as green-sensitizing dye in the spectral sensitization of emulsion microcrystals in negative film-making. In this study, green-sensitizing dye was prepared by the reaction of 2-methyl-3-sulfopropyl-5-phenyl-benzoxazolium(inner salt) with triethyl orthoacetate in the presence of triethylamine. The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as Elemental analyzer, IR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, $^1H$-NMR spectrometer, TGA and DSC. The maximum absorption peak in methanol solvent was 502nm. Therefore, it was concluded that benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye can be used as green-sensitizing dye for the spectral sensitization of photographic emulsion.
