초임계 유체법에 의한 SrTiO3: Pr3+ 형광체 분말 제조 및 발광특성 (Preparation of SrTiO3: Pr3+ Phosphors Using Supercritical Fluid Method and its Luminescence Properties)

  • 본 연구에서는 초임계 mixing을 이용하여 $SrTiO_3:\;Pr^{3+}$ 형광체 분말을 제조하였으며, 일반적 제조 방법인 고상법으로 제조된 분말과 발광특성을 비교하였다. 초임계 mixing에 의해 제조된 $SrTiO_3:\;Pr^{3+}$ 형광체 분말은 단상의 perovskite 구조를 갖으며, 형상은 구형인 좁은 입도분포를 보인다. 발광특성의 증대를 sensitizer인 $Al^{3+}$$Ga^{3+}$을 첨가하여 형광체의 발광특성을 관찰하였다.

  • In this study, the $Sr_{1-x}Ba_{x}Al_{2}O_{4}:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor were prepared by the solid-state reaction method and its photoluminescence properties were investigated. Starting powders of $SrCO_3,\;BaCO_3,\;and\;Al_{2}O_3$ were mixed with $Eu_{2}O_3$ as activator, $Dy_{2}O_3$ as co-activator and $B_{2}O_3$ as flux. Then, the mixed powders were heated at the temperature of $1100{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$ for 3 h under the reducing ambient atmosphere of $95%Ar+5%H_2$. The effect of Ba addition from 0.0 to 1.0 mol on photoluminescence was investigated. As the amount of Ba increased, the intensity of emission increased and the optimum long phosphorescence occurred at the amount of 0.1 mol Ba. The optimum sintering condition for long phosphorescent phosphor of $Sr_{1-x}Ba_{x}Al_{2}O_{4}:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$($x=0{\sim}1.0mol$) was found at $1400^{\circ}C$. The excitation spectra showed a broad band of $250{\sim}450nm$ with maximum peak at 360 nm. The maximum peak intensity of emission spectra occurred at the range of $480{\sim}520nm$, depending on Ba content.

  • Nanosized and aggregated $Y_2O_3:Eu$ Red phosphors were prepared by template method from metal salt impregnated into crystalline cellulose. The particle size and photoluminescent property of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ red phosphors were controlled by variation of the calcination temperature and time. Dispersed nanosol was also obtained from the aggregated $Y_2O_3:Eu$ Red phosphor under bead mill wet process. The dispersion property of the $Y_2O_3:Eu$ nanosol was optimized by controlling the bead size, bead content ratio and milling time. The median particle size ($D_{50}$) of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ nanosol was found to be around 100 nm, and to be below 90 nm after centrifuging. In spite of the low photoluminescent properties of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ nanosol, it was observed that the photoluminescent property recovered after re-calcination. The dispersion and photoluminescent properties of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ nanosol were investigated using a particle size analyzer, FE-SEM, and a fluorescence spectrometer.

고온 안정성이 우수한 자동차 LED용 Red CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ 형광체/Glass 세라믹 복합체 개발 (Development of Red CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ Phosphor in Glass Ceramic Composite for Automobile LED with High Temperature Stability)

  • Red phosphor in glasses (PiGs) for automotive light-emitting diode (LED) applications were fabricated with 620-nm $CaAlSiN_3:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor and Pb-free silicate glass. PiGs were synthesized and mounted on high-power blue LED to make a monochromatic red LED. PiGs were simple mixtures of red phosphor and transparent glass powder. After being fabricated with uniaxial press and CIP at 300 MPa for 20 min, the green bodies were thermally treated at $550^{\circ}C$ for 30 min to produce high dense PiGs. As the phosphor content increased, the density of the sintered body decreased and PiGs containing 30% phosphor had a full sintered density. Changes in photoluminescence spectra and color coordination were studied by varying the thickness of plates that were mounted after optical polishing. As a result of the optical spectrum and color coordinates, PiG plate with $210{\mu}m$ thickness showed a color purity of 99.7%. In order to evaluate the thermal stability, the thermal quenching characteristics were measured at temperatures of $30{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. The results showed that the red PIG plates were 30% more thermally stable compared to the AlGaInP red chip.

  • The present status and trend of oxide phosphor thin-film development for thin-film electroluminescent (TFEL) device application are presented in this paper. Recently, several newly developed types of bendable or bendable see-through oxide TFEL lamps have been fabricated using the TFEL technology with a newly developed bendable ceramic sheet, glass sheet or sapphire sheet substrate, which has become available on the market. Stable operation at high temperatures was obtained in double-insulating-layer-type TFEL lamps fabricated with a $Zn_2Si_{0.6}Ge_{0.}4O_4$:Mn thin-film emitting layer forming on translucent or transparent bendable sheet substrates.

High-Luminous Efficiency Full-Color Emitting $GdVO_4$:Eu, Er, Tm Phosphor Thin Films

  • High-luminous efficiency full-color emissions in photoluminescence (PL) were obtained in $GdVO_4$ phosphor thin films co-doped with various amounts of Eu, Er and/or Tm and postannealed at approximately 1000$^{\circ}C$. The $GdVO_4$:Eu,Er,Tm phosphor thin films were deposited on thick $BaTiO_3$ ceramic sheets by r.f. magnetron sputtering using powder targets and postannealed in an air atmosphere. The rare earth (RE) content (RE/(Gd+V+RE) atomic ratio) in the oxide phosphor thin films was varied in the range from 0.1 to 2 at.%. It was found that the excitation of $GdVO_4$:Eu.Er,Tm thin films is attributed to band-to-band transition. A white PL emission was obtained in a $GdVO_4$:Eu,Er,Tm thin film with Eu, Er and Tm contents of 0.2, 0.7 and 1 at.%, respectively: CIE chromaticity color coordinates. (X=0.352 and Y=0.351). In addition, a white emission was obtained in a thin-film electroluminescent (TFEL) device made with this thin film.

  • The effect of titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) on the properties of color conversion glasses was examined for glasses based on $BaO-ZnO-B_2O_3-SiO_2$. One glass sample, containing 25 mol% of each component, was used as a reference; the other three glass samples contained 1, 3, and 5 mol% $TiO_2$, respectively. The four color conversion glass samples were prepared by sintering a mixture of glass frits and a $YAG:Ce^+$ phosphor. The characteristics of the color conversion glass samples, such as luminous efficacy, luminance, CIE (Commission International de I'Eclairage) chromaticity, CCT (Correlated Color Temperature), and CRI (Color Rendering Index) were analyzed according to the PL spectrum. The refractive index of the glass samples was found to increase with the titanium dioxide content. In conclusion, luminous efficacy of color conversion glasses increased as the content of $TiO_2$ was raised in the glass matrix.

  • $Eu^{2+}$, $Nd^{3+}$ co-doped $BaAl_2O_4$ are known as a long afterglow phosphor. We found that $Eu^{2+}$-doped $BaAl_2O_4$ showed ptotoconductivity in the range of UV and visual light. In this study, $BaAl_2O_4$:Eu thin film has been prepared by RF sputtering method and a sensing characteristics to UV and visual light was performed. Only $Eu^{2+}$ and $Nd^{3+}$ co-doped $BaAl_2O_4$ powders and targets for deposition were prepared by a convention solid state method, and the deposition was performed in a reducing $H_2$-Ar mixture gas on Si substrates. The observation of crystalline phase and morphology of the sputtered film were performed using XRD, EDX. The photoluminescence and photocurrent to UV and visual light were measured simultaneously using 300W-Xe solar simulator as a light source. It was confirmed that the photocurrent induced by irradiation of light showed a linear relationship to the light intensity.

LED용 Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu청색 형광체의 발광특성 (Luminescence Characteristics of Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu Blue Phosphor for Light Emitting Diodes)

  • Eu$^{2+}$를 활성제로 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$ 청색 형광체를 합성하고, Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체를 InGaN의 UV chip에 도포하여 청색 LED Lamp를 제조하였다. 제조된 청색 LED Lamp는 405nm와 460nm에서 두 개의 파장을 나타내고 있다. 405nm의 파장은 InGaN의 활성영역으로부터의 radiative recombination 때문에 나타나는 피크이다. 여기에서 나오는 405nm의 발광은 본 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체의 여기원으로 사용된다 460nm에서의 발광 밴드는 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$ 모체내에서 Eu$^{2+}$ 이온의 radiative recombination에 의한 것이다. 발광효율이 좋은 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체를 이용하여 UV 청색 LED Lmp를 제조한 결과, 에폭시와 청색 형광체의 무게 비율이 1$.$0.202에서 가장 좋은 광도값을 얻을 수 있었다. 이때 색좌표는 CIE x=0.1417, CIE y=0.0683이었다.

  • ZnGa2O4 thin film phosphors were deposited on Si(100) (111) wafers by rf magnetron sputtering. The ef-fects of substrates and deposition parameters on the growing mechanisms were studied. As a results of the effect of substrate temperature tranistions of growth orientation and different growing behaviors were ob-served. Also polycrystalline ZnGa2O4 thin film could not be achieved without oxygen gas. PL spectrum of ZnGa2O4 thin films were analyzed and showed broad band luminescence spectrum.
