  • After launch of Low Earth Orbit(LEO) satellite, Initial Activation Checkout(IAC) and Calibration and Validation(Cal & Val) procedure are performed prior to enter normal operation phase. During normal operation phase, most of the time is allocated for mission operation except following up measures to anomaly and orbit maintenance. Since mission operation capability is key indicator for success of LEO satellite program and consistent with promotion purpose of LEO satellite program, reliability should be ensured by conducting through test. In order to ensure reliability by examining the role of LEO satellite and ground station during ground test phase, realistic test scenario that is similar to actual operation conditions should be created, and test that aims to verify full mission cycle should be performed by transmitting created command and receiving image and telemetry data. This paper describes the test design and result. Consideration items for test design are described in detail and result of designed test items are summarized.

  • A satellite and ground stations which are developed in a program are tested whether the interface between the satellite and ground is well established before satellite operations. These compatibility tests are performed when the satellite is connected with the ground stations after all satellite and ground stations requirements are verified. The content of the RF compatibility test is to check whether the interface requirements which are described on the Interface Control Document are well developed. During the early operation phase and tentative contingency operations of the satellite, KARI ground station uses other oversea ground stations which are located worldwide according to contract between the KARI and the contractor. Since oversea ground stations were not developed for the designated space program, system integrator should check whether the oversea ground stations are satisfied with interface requirements. Using the RF suitcase, RF interface and the content of RF communication can directly be verified during RF compatibility test on oversea ground station without KARI ground station's support. The RF compatibility test using RF suitcase was performed oversea ground stations as well as KARI ground station located on Korea. The content of RF compatibility test was standardized in order to be used at any oversea ground stations, especially fitted for the operations concept of launch and early operations phase. The test content would be RF characteristics, protocol, command loop test, telemetry loop test, and ground station interface test.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of genu valgum on the body mass index, movement of lower limb joints, and ground reaction force. Methods : Gait patterns of 30 college students with genu valgum were analyzed and the static Q angle of the femur was measured for selecting genu valgum of the subjects. To analyze the kinetic changes during walking, the six-camera Vicon MX motion analysis system was used. The subjects were asked to walk 12 meters using the more comfortable walking method for walking. After they walked 12 meters more than 10 times, their most natural walking patterns were chosen three times and analyzed. Results : As a result of measuring a relationship between genu valgum and Q-angle, as the Q-angle increases, it showed a genu valgum also increased. Body Mass Index showed a significant difference between the groups was higher in the genu valgum group.(p<.001). The analysis result showed that genu valgum had a significant effect on the internal rotation moment in the hip joint(p<.05). Also, genu valgum had a significant effect on the internal rotation moment of the knee joint(p<.05). The comparative analysis of the Medial-Lateral ground reaction force in the genu valgum group showed a tendency to increase the medial ground reaction force(p<.05). The vertical ground reaction forces of the middle of the stance phase(Fz0) showed a significant increase in genu valgum group(p<.05), in particular the results showed a decrease in the early stance phase(p<.001). Conclusion : In conclusion, the change in body mass is considered to be made by proactive regular exercise for improvement of the genu valgum. In addition, the prevention of the deformation caused by secondary of the genu valgum in this study may be used as an indicator of the position alignment rehabilitation for structural and functional improvements. Applying a therapeutic exercise program for the next lap will require changes in posture alignment.

  • An air-to-ground guidance missile aimed to hit a main battle tank(MBT) should detect a ground moving target and estimate the target position to guide. In this paper, we detect a front ground moving target by using FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) and estimate the position by forward-looking SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) via scanning certain front ground section by steering a beam with narrow beamwidth left to right mechanically. Also, by MLE(Maximum Likelihood Estimation), degree of how fast the target approach or recede from the radar can be figured out from the estimated radial velocity of the moving target. Subsequently, we generate a radar image via corrected matched filter from phase history including the radial velocity.

  • Superconducting fault currents(SFCLs) are expected to improve not only reliability but also stability of real power systems. The analysis on the single line-to-ground fault of the integrated three phase flux-lock type SFCL, which consists of three flux-lock reactor wound on an iron core in each single phase and three YBCO thin films, was investigated in current limiting operation characteristics. We compared 21turn numbers with 42turn numbers according to wound turn numbers each the coil 2 under the additive polarity winding operation between coil 1 and coil 2. The three phase flux-lock type SFCL using an iron core differently operates general three phase resistive SFCLs. When a single line-to-ground fault occurred, the SFCL's three units were quenched after fault onset. We confirmed effective current limiting operation characteristics with adjustable inductance level.

  • A new inverter topology for single-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems is proposed in this study. The proposed inverter offers a four-level voltage in its output terminals. This feature results in easier filtering in comparison with other conventional two-level or three-level inverters. In addition, the proposed four-level inverter (PFLI) has a transformer-less topology, which decreases the size, weight, and cost of the entire system and increases the overall efficiency of the system. Although the inverter is transformer-less, it produces a negligible leakage ground current (LGC), which makes this inverter suitable for PV grid-connected applications. The performance of the proposed inverter is compared with that of a four-level neutral point clamped inverter (FLNPCI). Theoretical analysis and computer simulations verify that the PFLI topology is superior to FLNPCI in terms of efficiency and suitability for use in PV transformer-less systems.

  • A digital distance relaying algorithm immune to the effect of the fault resistance in single-phase to ground fault is proposed. The power frequency components of relaying signals are extracted by the 1 cycle DFT. To compensate the magnitude and phase of the estimated impedance, which is calculated by the general method, this algorithm uses phase difference between the zero sequence impedance of networks on both sided of the system.

  • This paper proposes a control method based on a pseudo-impedance model to control the motion of biped robots walking on an uneven surface. The pseudo-impedance model simulates the action of the ankle of a foot landing on the ground when a human walks. When the foot is in contact with the ground, the human ankle goes through two different phases. In the first phase, the human exerts little or no effort and applies no torque on the ankle so that the orientation of the foot is effortlessly and passively adjusted with respect to the ground. In the second phase of landing, the ankle generates a significant amount of torque in order to rotate and move the main part of the human body forward and to support the weight of the human; this phase is called the weight acceptance phase. Computer simulations of a 12-DOF biped robot with a 6-DOF environment model were performed to determine the effectiveness of the proposed pseudo-impedance control. The simulation results show that stable locomotion can be achieved on an irregular surface by using the proposed model.

  • Naejirgi is one of the fastest, most forceful and most often being used kicks in Taekkyon games, The purpose of this study was to investigate kinetic factors on two types of Naejirgi kick, one of which uses knee bending of supporting leg and the other uses little it. 12 taekkyoners (11 males and one female) who are the students of Y University participated in this study. They have been practicing on Taekkyon for five years or more. Positions of CoM, the elapsed time of each phase, vertical ground reaction forces, joint moments and impulses of supporting leg were analyzed for this study. The results were as follows; in Naejirgi with knee bending of supporting leg than without knee bending of supporting leg, the vertical motion range of whole body CoM was larger during phase 2 and 3, the elapsed time of phase 4 were longer, players stayed longer in the nearest location to opponent, during phase 4 the vertical ground reaction forces of supporting foot were larger, and joint extension moments and angular impulses of supporting leg (especially knee) were larger. In conclusion supporting knee bending is not a useful strategy for Naejirgi, because players stay longer in the nearest position to opponent and consumed more muscle force and energy for producing the vertical momentum which is unnecessary for pushing down the opponent.

  • A study on the decreasing method of secondary arc current on single phase reclosing. One of the major problem in case of using the single phase reclosing scheme for long distance UHV transmission line is the time required to deionize secondary arc current. This paper descritbes the way of inducing the formular of secondary arc current originated at the times of opening and closing the ground interrupting switch. The result was investigated by the method of numerical analysis and proved that the secondary arc current was decreasing sufficiently. Application of this method proposed by the authod makes it possible to deduce the dead time and to improve success-rate of reclosing.
