  • A digital dual-channel interleaved phase-shift full-bridge converter is investigated in this paper, and its topology and principle are analyzed. To realize current sharing and stabilize the output voltage, a controller with current sharing loop and closed voltage loop is employed. In addition, current sharing will increase the output current fluctuation and a new digital interleaved driving technology is proposed to reduce the output current ripple. To verify the analysis, simulation and experiments are carried out, which shows the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies.

  • With the advent of the high-speed microprocessor and DSP, the possibility of executing a control strategy in digital domain has become a reality. By the use of the DSP and microprocessor controller, many high power drive system may be enhanced resulting in the improved robustness to EMI, the ability to communicate the operating conditions and the ease of adjusting the control parameters. But, the digital controller using DSP or microprocessor is not applied in the high frequency switching power supplies, especially full bridge DC/DC converter. So, this paper presents the method and realization of designing a digital-to-phase shift PWM circuit for full digital controlled full bridge DC/DC converter with zero voltage switching. The operating principles, simulation and experimental results will be presented.

  • In this paper, we propose an electric circuit using one common-arm of H-Bridge inverters to reduce the number of switching components in the multi-level inverter combined with H-Bridge inverters and transformers. And furthermore, we suggested a new multi-level PWM inverter using PWM level to reduce THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). We use a phase-shift switching method that has the same rate of usage at each transformer. Also, we test the proposed prototype 9-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of the control signal for the proposed multi-level PWM inverter.

  • A digital self-sustained phase shift modulation (DSSPSM) strategy that allows for good soft switching and dynamic response performance in the presence of step variations is presented in this paper. The working principle, soft switching characteristics, and voltage gain formulae of a LLC converter with DSSPSM have been provided separately. Furthermore, the method for realizing DSSPSM is proposed. Specifically, some key components of the proposed DSSPSM are carefully investigated, including a parameter variation analysis, the start-up process, and the zero-crossing capture of the resonant current. The simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility of the proposed control method. It is observed that the zero voltage switching of the switches and the zero current switching of the rectifier diodes can be easily realized in presence of step load variations.

  • This paper proposes a novel control method to minimize conduction losses of dual active bridge (DAB) converters for on-board chargers of electric vehicles (EVs). In the control method, two variables are regulated, which are the phase-shift angle between the primary and secondary full bridges and the switching frequency. From time-domain analysis, an optimal phase-shift angle is derived to achieve the minimum RMS value of the transformer current. The proposed method was implemented for a 3.6-kW SiC-based prototype to validate its effectiveness. A high efficiency over 97.3% has been achieved for a wide output voltage range.

  • Nowadays automatic transmission equipped vehicles prevail in construction and agricultural equipment due to their convenience in driving and operation. Though domestic vehicle manufacturers install imported electronic controlled transmissions at present, overseas products will be replaced by domestic ones in the near future owing to development efforts over the past 10 years. For passenger cars, there are many kinds of shift control algorithms that enhance the shift quality such as feedback and learning control. However, since shift control technologies for heavy duty vehicles are not highly developed, it is possible to improve the shift quality with an organized control method. A feedback control algorithm for neutral-into-gear shift, which is enabled during the inertia phase for the master clutch slip speed to track the slip speed reference, is proposed based on the power transmission structure of TH100. The performance of the feedback shift control is verified by a vehicle test which is implemented with firmware embedded TCU. As the master clutch engages along the predetermined speed trajectory, it can be concluded that the shift quality can be managed by a shift time control parameter. By extending the proposed feedback algorithm for neutral-into-gear shift to gear change and shuttle shift, it is expected that the quality of the shift can be improved.

  • This paper proposes a nonisolated, bidirectional, soft-switching DC - DC converter with PWM plus phase shift (PPS) control. The proposed converter has an input-parallel/output-series configuration and can achieve the interleaving effect and high voltage gains, resulting in decreased voltage ratings in all related devices. The proposed converter can operate under zero-voltage switching (ZVS) conditions for all switches in continuous conduction mode. The power flow of the proposed converter can be controlled by changing the phase shift angle, and the duty is controlled to balance the voltage of four high voltage side capacitors. The PPS control device of the proposed converter is simple in structure and presents symmetrical switching patterns under a bidirectional power flow. The PPS control also ensures ZVS during charging and discharging at all loads and equalizes the voltage ratings of the output capacitors and switches. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, an experimental investigation of a 2 kW prototype is performed in both charging and discharging modes under different load conditions and a bidirectional power flow.

  • This paper presents a simple gain/phase blind compensation algorithm with an automatic gain control (AGC) function for the adoption of the AGC function and compensation for gain/phase imbalances in quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) direct conversion receivers (DCRs). The AGC function is interactively operated with the compensation algorithm for gain/phase imbalances. By detecting the gain sum and difference values between the I-channel and Q-channel, the combined AGC and gain imbalance compensation algorithm provides a simpler DCR architecture.

  • In this paper, first, a linearized modeling of a phase shift full-bridge converter used in chargers of electric vehicles is derived by using state-space approach and transfer functions from the duty ratio to output voltage and the inductor current are also verified. second, control systems for the output voltage and the inductor current are designed using the root locus technique. It is illustrated by experimental results that the control performance on the output variables is satisfied with the designed digital control system based on a automobile qualified 32-bit microcontroller.
