Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3계의 유전 및 압전특성 (Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3 Solid Solution Ceramics)

  • The dielectric and piezoelectric properties with compositions in Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3-(PNN-PT-PZ)solid solution ceramics were investigated. In this study, the compsition ranges were 30 PNN 45mole%, 20 PT 50mole% and 50 PZ5mole%. As PT fraction were increased the grain size was increased and the fired density was decreased, but the changes of PNN fraction had no effect on the grain size. The Curie temperature was increased when PT and PNN fraction were increased. The displacement was increased but had a great hysteresis loss when PT fraction was increased. In morphotropic phase boundary, the maximum piezoelectric and electromechanical coupling factor were indicated. Morphotropic phase boundary(MPB) was 34 PT 36mole% in chang of compositions.

Numerical Analysis on Melting and Solidification of Pure Metals with Enthalpy-Porosity Model

  • A finite volume numerical approach is developed and used to simulate convection-dominated melting and solidification problems. The present approach is based on the enthalpy-porosity method that is traditionally used to track the motion of the liquid-solid front and to obtain the temperature and velocity profiles in the liquid-phase. The enthalpy-porosity model treats the solid-phase as the porosity in all computational cells that are located on the solid-liquid interfacial boundary. Concerning the computational cells that are fully located in the solid side of the interfacial boundary, the zero value of the porosity severely suppresses the velocity vector to practically a non-existent value that could be set equal to zero. A comparative analysis with the previous numerical approaches is performed to demonstrate the improved features of the presented model. Results of a melting and solidification experiments are also used to assess and evaluate the performance of the model.

  • In this paper, the structural and electrical properties of the Sr$_{1-x}$ Ca$_{x}$TiO$_3$ (0$\leq$x$\leq$0.2) (0$\leq$r$\leq$0.2)-based grain boundary layer ceramics were investigated by X-ray, SEM and V-I system. Increasing the Ca content, the average grain size and the lattice constant were decreased. The relative density of all specimens was >96%. The 2nd phase formed by thermal diffusing from the surface lead to a very excellent electrical properties, that is, $\varepsilon$$_{r}$>50000, tan$\delta$<0.05, $\Delta$C< $\pm$ 10%.\pm$ 10%.%.

$B_4C-SiC$ 복합체의 상압소결거동 (Sintering Behavior of $B_4C-SiC$ Composite)

  • The B4C-C system was investigated to gain an understanding of the sintering behaviors of B4C. In order to get sintered density of 97% TD, sintering temperature of 225$0^{\circ}C$ was necessary. Since such a high temperature operation is actually difficult on a commercial basis, our objective was to examine the possibility of decreasing the sintering temperature by adding SiC. The addition of SiC in B4C increases the sintering rate about at 210$0^{\circ}C$ and results in a fine microstructure with more than 98% relative density on 55 wt% B4C-40wt% SiC-5 wt% C composition. The probability of liquid phase sintering was investigated, but the evidences of liquid phase formation were not observed with XRD and TEM observation. It was proposed that the addition of SiC and carbon to B4C reduce interface energy during sintering, which results in enhanced grain-boundary diffusion. Thus, the enhanced grain-boundary diffusion and retarded grain growth by SiC improve densification.

  • (1-x-y)Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Ba(Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3(0.12{\leq}x{\leq}0.21, 0.24{\leq}y{\leq}0.33$) ternary compound ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were 1050 [$^{\circ}C$], 2[hr]. Morphotropic phase boundary region was chosen for the composition. 0.55 PZN-0.21 BZN-0.24 PT specimen had the highest value of relative dielectric constants, 5353. The curie temperature of specimens were increased linearly with PT content. Near the morphotropic phase boundary, electro-mechanical coupoling factor and mechanical quality factor of the specimens had the highest values.

Stability analysis of porous multi-phase nanocrystalline nonlocal beams based on a general higher-order couple-stress beam model

  • This article investigates buckling behavior of a multi-phase nanocrystalline nanobeam resting on Winkler-Pasternak foundation in the framework of nonlocal couple stress elasticity and a higher order refined beam model. In this model, the essential measures to describe the real material structure of nanocrystalline nanobeams and the size effects were incorporated. This non-classical nanobeam model contains couple stress effect to capture grains micro-rotations. Moreover, the nonlocal elasticity theory is employed to study the nonlocal and long-range interactions between the particles. The present model can degenerate into the classical model if the nonlocal parameter, and couple stress effects are omitted. Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the governing equations and the related boundary conditions which are solved applying an analytical approach. The buckling loads are compared with those of nonlocal couple stress-based beams. It is showed that buckling loads of a nanocrystalline nanobeam depend on the grain size, grain rotations, porosities, interface, elastic foundation, shear deformation, surface effect, nonlocality and boundary conditions.

단결정 구리 나노와이어의 굽힘 특성 (Bending Characteristics of Single Crystalline Copper Nanowires)

  • Single crystalline copper nanowires are subjected to bending tests using molecular dynamics simulations and the embedded atom method. To observe behaviors of nanowire, bending tests are performed for various rates of deflection and different boundary conditions: fixed-free and fixed-fixed. When the deflection of nanowire becomes large, twinnings and dislocations appear, and <100> crystal structure transforms to <110>. At high rates, phase transformation occurs in whole nanowire. But, at low rates, atomic structure changes to <110> phase partially. The final deformed structures are affected by the rate of deflection and boundary conditions. These effects can be important design parameters at nanoscale.

액상확산접합한 Ni기 초내열합금의 등온응고거동에 미치는 모재결정입계의 영향 (The Effect of Base Metal Grain Boundary on Isothermal Solidification Phenomena during TLP Bonding of Ni Base Superalloys)

  • The effect of base metal grain size on isothermal solidification behavior of Ni-base superalloy, CMSX-2 during transient liquid phase (TLP) bonding was investigated employing MBF-80 insert metal. TLP-bonding of single crystal. coarse-grained and fine-grained CMSX-2 was carried out at 1373∼1548k for various holding time in vacuum. The eutectic width diminished linearly with the square root of holding time during isothermal solidification process for single crystal, coarse-grained and fine-grained base metals. The completion time for isothermal solidification decreased in the order ; single crystal, coarse-grained and fine-grained base metals. The difference of isothermal solidification rates produced when bonding the different base metals could be explained quantitatively by the effect of base metal grain boundaries on the apparent average diffusion coefficient of boron in CMSX-2.

Dielectric, Pyroelectric and Piezoelectric Properties of 0.7PMN-0.3PT Ceramics Modified With Cr$_2$O$_3$

  • The effect of 0-0.7 ㏖% addition of $Cr_2$$O_3$on the dielectric, pyroelectric, and piezoelectric properties were studied in the (Mg$0.7Pb_{1}$$3/Nb_{2}$3/)$O_3$-$0.3PbTiO_3$(0.7PMN-0.3PT) ceramics with composition near the morphotropic phase boundary. The dielectric constant and loss of the ceramics samples were measured as a function of temperature at various frequencies (0.1-100 KHz). The pyroelectric coefficient was measured by using the Byer-Roundy method as a function of temperature. Dielectric, pyroelectric, and piezoelectric constant achieved the maximum values of 0.4 ㏖% $Cr_2$$O_3$The transition temperature is continuously shifted to lower temperature with an increase of a small amount of $Cr_2$$O_3$.
