  • This study develops a variable structure controller using the time-varying nonlinear sliding surface instead of the fixed sliding surface, which has been the robustness against parameter variations and extraneous disturbance during the reaching phase. By appling TS algorithm to the regulation of the rionlinear sliding surface, the reaching time of the system trajectory is faster than the fixed method. This proposed scheme has better performance than the conventional method in reaching time, parameter variation and extraneous disturbance. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation results.

  • Multivariate process control has become important in various applied fields. For instance, there are many situations in which the simultaneous monitoring of multivariate quality characteristics is necessary for the manufacturing industry. Despite its importance, its practical usage is not as convenient because it is difficult to identify the source of the out-of-control signal in a multivariate control chart. In this paper, we will introduce how to detect the source of the out-of-control by using confidence intervals for new observations, and will discuss the identification and interpretation of the out-of-control variable through simulation studies.

  • The analysis of Rader signal that have non-linearity variable phase is signal that contact easily in several fields such as radar, telecommunication, seismic, sonar and biomedical applications. In generally, Non-stationary signal means that spectral characteristics are varying with time and instantaneous frequency is only one frequency or narrow range of frequencies varying as a function of time. Therefore, Instantaneous frequency is vary important variable that understanding physical characteristic of signal. This paper was describes continuous wavelet transform to determine instantaneous frequency at non-staionary signal and compare to existing method. When white noise or various frequency is overlapped each other in sign, existing method was can not decide corrected instantaneous frequency, but when used continuous wavelet transform, very well decide correctly frequency regardless of component of signal.

  • The k-Nearest Neighbor classifier that does not require a training phase is appropriate for a variable number of classes problem like face recognition, Recently distance metric learning methods that is trained with a given data set have reported the significant improvement of the kNN classifier. However, the performance of a distance metric learning method is variable for each application, In this paper, we focus on the face recognition and compare the performance of the state-of-the-art distance metric learning methods, Our experimental results on the public face databases demonstrate that the Mahalanobis distance metric based on PCA is still competitive with respect to both performance and time complexity in face recognition.

  • A compact and broadband $4\times1$ array antenna was developed for 3G smart antenna system testbed. The $4\times1$ uniform linear away antenna was designed to operate at 1.885 to 2.2GHz with a total bandwidth of 315MHz. The array elements were based on the novel broadband L-probe fed inverted hybrid E-H (LIEH) shaped microstrip patch, which offers 22% size reduction to the conventional rectangular microstrip patch antenna. For steering the antenna beam, a commercial variable attenuator (KAT1D04SA002), a variable phase shifter (KPH350SC00) with four units each, and the corporate 4-ways Wilkinson power divider which was fabricated in-house were integrated to form the beamforming feed network. The developed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 17.32% $(VSWR\leq1.5)$, 21.78% $(VSWR\leq2)$ with respect to center frequency 2.02GHz and with an achievable gain of 11.9dBi. The design antenna offer a broadband, compact and mobile solution for a 3G smart antenna testbed to fully characterized the IMT-2000 radio specifications and system performances.

  • This Many software projects collect grouped failure data (failures in some failure interval or in variable time interval) rather than individual failure times or failure count data during the testing or operational phase. This paper presents the neural network (NN) modeling for grouped failure data that is able to predict cumulative failures in the variable future time. The two variant models of cascade-correlation learning (CasCor) algorithm are presented. Suggested models are compared with other well-known NN models and statistical software reliability growth models (SRGMs). Experimental results show that the suggested models show better predictability.

  • In this paper, an improved integral variable structure regulation controller is designed by using a special integral sliding surface and a disturbance observer for the improved regulation control of highly nonlinear rigid robot manipulators with prescribed output performance. The sliding surface having the integral state with a special initial condition is employed in this paper to exactly predetermine the ideal sliding trajectory from a given initial condition to the desired reference without any reaching phase. And a continuous sliding mode input using the disturbance observer is also introduced in order to effectively follow the predetermined sliding trajectory within the prescribed accuracy without large computation burden. The performance of the prescribed tracking accuracy to the predetermined sliding trajectory is clearly investigated in detail through the two theorems, together with the closed loop stability. The design of the proposed regulation controller is separated into the performance design and robustness design in each independent link. The usefulness of the algorithm has been demonstrated through simulation studies on the regulation control of a two-link robot under parameter uncertainties and payload variations.

  • This research is to develop satiable battery charger with a variety of capacity and voltage specifications of battery. For this, voltage or current were controlled through buck converter which is DC voltage that already received three-phase at primary side and passed bridge rectifier diode. And, it was comprised of full-bridge converter and HFTR for insulation and a square wave AC. The transformer primary side was comprised in series to divide certain charging current and the secondly side was comprised of 6 fixed transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay parallel compound 6 DC Link outputs. To confirm such structure's verification and validity, simulation with PSIM was conducted, and validity of proposed variable charger system was verified through 3kW stack production.

  • This research paper describes the development of battery charger with a variable output voltage capacity for charging the batteries used in electrical vehicles. The voltage and current accordingly is control via the buck converter that receives three phase current at primary side and fed to bridge rectifier which is comprised of full bridge converter and HFTR(High Frequency Transformer) for isolation and a square wave AC output. The transformer primary side is in series to divide certain charging current and the secondary side is comprised of six fix transformers so that they can generate certain amount of power and various output voltage through relay connection using 6 DC outputs. Moreover, all parallel connected full bridge serial resonant converter communicate together with upper(main) controller. The constructed structure is verified by conducting the test on PSIM as well as experimentally.
