In this paper, we developed a local oscillator (LO) system of millimeter wave band receiver for radio astronomy observation. We measured the phase and amplitude drift stability of this LO system. The voltage control oscillator (VCO) of this LO system use the 3 mm band Gunn oscillator. We developed the digital phase locked loop (DPLL) module for the LO PLL function that can be computer-controlled. To verify the performance, we measured the output frequency/power and the phase/amplitude drift stability of the developed module and the commercial PLL module, respectively. We show the good performance of the LO system based on the developed PLL module from the measured data analysis. The test results and discussion will be useful tutorial reference to design the LO system for very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) receiver and single dish radio astronomy receiver at the 3 mm frequency band.
This paper presents a method of finding the optimal operating point minimizing a given objective function with 3 phase power flow equations and operational constraints, called 3 phase optimal power flow (3POPF). 3 phase optimal power flow can provide operation and control strategies for the distribution systems with distributed generation assets, which might be frequently in unbalanced conditions assuming that high penetration rate of renewable energy sources in the systems. As the solution technique for 3POPF, this paper adopts a simulation-based method of particle swarm optimization (PSO). In the PSO based 3POPF, a utility function needs to be defined for evaluation of the degree in operational improvement of each particle's current position. To evaluate the utility function, in this paper, NR-based 3 phase power flow algorithm was developed which can deal with looped distributed generation systems. In this paper, illustrative examples with a 5-bus and a modified IEEE 37-bus test systems are given.
A mathematical formulation based on two-phase, two-fluid hyperbolic conservation laws is developed to investigate propagation of shock waves in one- and two-dimensions. We used a high resolution upwind scheme called the split-coefficient matrix method. Two extreme cases are computed for validation of the computer code: the states of a pure gas and a pure liquid. Computed results agreed well with the previous experimental and numerical results. It is studied how the shock wave propagation pattern is affected by the void fraction in the two-phase flow. The shock structure in a two-phase flow turned out, in fact, much deviated from the shape well known in the gas only phase.
Cyclodxtrin homologues(CDs), produced by cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase(CGTase), were simultaneously partitioned in aqueous two-phase system(ATPS). Partition coefficients of CDs were measured in PEG/dextran systems. Phosphate, citrate, sulfate were tested as salt. ATPS of PEG/salt and PEG/dextran had the partition coefficients of the CDs, larger than unity. However, PEG/dextran system was observed better than PEG/salt as CGTase activity decreased sharply with salt concentration. Enzymatic rection occurred mainly in PEG-rich bottom phase because of the low partition coefficient of CGTase. The resulting CDs transferred to the PEG-rich top phase, obeying the diffusional partition. In the ATPS of 7% PEG(M.W.40, 000), 7mg/ml of CDs were obtained in top phase at 4.5 hours.
High pressure X-ray diffraction study was carried out on a polycrystalline graphite to investigate the phase transition(s) at room temperature. Energy dispersive X-ray diffraction method was employed using a Mao-Bell type diamond anvil cell with an Wiggler synchrotron Radiation at the National Synchrotron Light Source. Sodium chloride power was used as the internal pressure sensor for the high pressure determinations as well as the pressure medium for quasihydrostatic pressure environment. Graphite transforms into a hexagonal didose not agree with the previously reported observations and this phase persists when pressure is released down to 0.1 MPa. This result dose not agree with the previously reported observations and this discrepancy would be due to the kinetics in phase transition as well as the uniaxially oriented pressure field in the diamond anvil cell.
We investigate noise-induced phase transitions in globally coupled active rotators with multiplicative and additive noises. In the system there are four phases, stationary one-cluster, stationary two-cluster, moving one-cluster, and moving two-cluster phases. It is shown that multiplicative noise induces a bifurcation from one-cluster phase to two-cluster phase. Pinning force also induces a bifurcation from moving phase to stationary phase suppressing the multiplicative noise effect. Additive noise reduces both effects of multiplicative noise and pinning force urging the system to the stationary one-cluster phase. The frustrated effects of pinning force and additive and multiplicative noises lead to a reentrant transition at intermediate additive noise intensity. Nature of the transition is also discussed.
In plasma processing reactors, it is common practice to control plasma density and ion bombardment energy by manipulating excitation voltage and frequency. In this paper, a dually excited capacitively coupled rf plasma reactor is self-consistently simulated with a three moment model. Effects of phase differences between primary and secondary voltage waves, simultaneously modulated at various combinations of commensurate frequencies, on plasma properties are investigated. The simulation results show that plasma potential and density as well as primary self-dc bias are nearly unaffected by the phase lag between the primary and the secondary voltage waves. The results also show that, with the secondary frequency substantially lower than the primary frequency, secondary self·do bias remains constant regardless of the phase lag. As the secondary frequency approaches to the primary frequency, however, the secondary self-dc bias becomes greatly altered by the phase lag, and so does the ion bombardment energy at the secondary electrode. These results demonstrate that ion bombardment energy can be more carefully controlled through plasma simulation.
In this paper, the results of safety activities for Airport Railroad are introduced according to CENELEC standards. The procedures of safety activity were redefined as 6 phases such as Requirement Analysis phase, Design phase, Manufacture phase, Installation phase, Test & Commissioning phase and Operation phase to ensure the coincidence with 14 phases recommended in CENELEC standard. And the safety activities were implemented in the aspect of the overall E&M system level and in the aspect of each system level for 6 sub-systems consisting of that E&M system to ensure the safety for Airport Railroad using the general methodology such as FMECA.

A Quadrature phase detector for high-speed delay-locked loop is introduced. The proposed Quadrature phase detector is composed of two nor gates and it determines if the phase difference of two input clocks is 90 degrees or not. The delay locked loop circuit including the Quadrature phase detector is fabricated in a 0.18 urn standard CMOS process and it operates at 5 ㎓ frequency. The phase error of the delay-locked loop is maximum 2 degrees and the circuits are robust with voltage, temperature variations.

When managers estimate exact construction cost at early stage and design phase, they can reduce construction cost in a more efficient way than to predict at construction stage. But, the current of public construction cost estimation and management is concentrated almost after detailed design phase. Therefore, construction cost management in design development phase to generally use approximate estimating is not correct. Also, the existing construction cost used the method that estimated by gross floor area-based cost estimates at design development phase. So, it is difficult to show the specific amount of materials and basis about the estimated cost of the construction. This study derived problems and limits of construction management at design development phase in case of public office building project through review of literature and current survey, and suggested estimating process model process of structural construction cost go improve these matters.
