Real-time Harbor Monitoring System using HD-CCDV

  • 최근 몇 년사이 CCTV에 대한 활용도와 중요성이 대두되고 있으며, CCTV의 해상도 또한 SD급 CCTV에서 HD급 CCTV로 대부분 전환되고 있는 상황이다. HD급 CCTV는 고화질, 고해상도를 제공하는 장점을 갖지만, 많은 데이터 량으로 인해 실시간 처리가 어려운 문제점 또한 포함하고 있다. 또한 CCTV는 지능형 CCTV로의 기술적인 진보를 거듭하고 있으며, 대표적인 solution으로 증강현실(AR:Augmented Reality)을 꼽을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 HD-CCTV의 최대 장점이라고 할 수 있는 실시간 영상에 선박의 정보(AIS : Automatic Identification System)을 결합하여 실시간으로 항만을 모니터링 하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 750mm Zoom Lens를 탑재한 PanTilt 장비를 이용하여 선박을 targeting 하는 시스템 또한 구현하였다. 증강현실을 이용하여 실시간 영상과 선박 정보를 결합하였으며, 이를 구현하기 위해 perspective projection 방법을 통해 3차원 공간좌표계를 2차원으로 투영하였다. 실시간 처리를 위해 입력영상을 Block으로 분할하여 목적 좌표를 검색하였으며, 선박정보의 부드러운 이동을 위해 Dead Reckon 기법과 linear prediction 방법을 이용하여 선박 위치를 예측하였다. 마지막으로 삼각측량법에 기반하여 현재 PanTilt 장비를 목적된 장소로 이동시키는 시스템을 구현하였다.

학교건강증진의 새로운 방향 모색 (Looking for a New Perspective on School Health Promotion)

  • Purpose: This review aimed to provide a new perspective on School Heath Promotion (SHP) in the context of Korea's school system. Methods: Relevant literature and reports on SHP were investigated. On the basis of the analysis, this review closely examined how SHP had been developed, and what has been happening in the recent years of SHP in advanced nations. Results: Major findings from this review in terms of finding a new perspective on SHP in Korea were to: 1) share awareness of the fundamentals of SHP; 2) establish a national framework for school-based SHP; 3) build a cooperative SHP governance; 4) strengthen a SHP monitoring and evaluation system; 5) integrate health and education. Conclusion: Recently, serious student health threats have been putting pressure on schools in Korea. This review will serve as a critical implication of how to effectively implement SHP in Korea.

복지국가의 세대간 형평성 담론의 정치경제학적 의미와 함의: 미국을 중심으로 (The political-economical meaning and implication of 'Generation Equity' debate in the Welfare States)

  • 서구복지국가의 공적연금제도는 현재 근로세대와 퇴직세대간의 자원이전을 통해 유지되어 왔다. 하지만 고령화가 진행됨에 따라 공적연금의 재정 부담이 가중되었고 노인복지지출에 대한 축소가 논쟁의 핵심으로 등장하였다. 이러한 논쟁은 미국에서 가장 활발하게 논의되었으며 '세대간 형평성' 이라는 담론으로 구성되어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 통해 세대간 형평성 논쟁이 제기된 배경을 분석하고, 이러한 논쟁이 미국에서 가장 활발하게 진행되었던 역사적·제도적 맥락을 규명하고자 하였다. 세대간 형평성의 문제를 제기하는 입장에서는 노인들을 위한 사회적 자원의 편중으로 인해 미국의 아동빈곤율은 과거에 비해 증가된 반면 노인지출은 지속적으로 증가하여 노인빈곤율은 상대적으로 감소하였다는 주장을 하고 있다. 이러한 주장에 대해 실증적 근거가 약하며 그러한 주장은 노인집단을 공격하기 위한 정치적 수사라는 반론도 제기되어 왔다. 다른 서구복지국가보다도 미국에서 세대간 형평성 담론이 활발하게 정치적 논쟁으로 전개되었던 원인은 바로 미국의 다원주의적 정치문화와 선별적 복지프로그램의 특성 때문이라고 할 수 있다. 이 연구를 통해 세대간 형평성 논의의 정치경제학적 의미는 바로 그 사회의 정치문화와 복지제도의 특성과 관련되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 보편적 복지제도가 정착되지 못한 우리 사회에서도 향후 이러한 논쟁이 정치적 이슈로 등장할 수 있는 가능성이 높다는 점에서 함의를 가지고 있다.

인터넷 벤처비즈니스 평가체계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation System of Internet venture Business)

  • Riding on the wave of the information technology revolution, a slow of internet venture businesses (IVB) came into being. Hence, one of the recent developments in Korean capital market has been the proliferation of IVB, which is in accordance with the worldwide trend of ‘new economy’. Although the fair valuation is crucial for the nourishment of IVB, it is difficult to apply traditional valuation methods to these firms without reservation. It is due to the facts that most venture firms have little records of performance, grow unprecedently fast, and have highly uncertain future. The main purpose of this study is to suggest performance evaluation system of IVB and to develop KPE (Key Performance Indicators). Our empirical study is based upon Kaplan & Norton’s Balance Scorecard (BSC) approach. Specifically, our research has been conducted by the following two subsequent procedures: Firstly, seven internet venture firms have been selected and their executives have been interviewed by FGI(Focus Group Interview) method. Based upon these results, performance indicators have been developed. Secondly, by using the above mentioned BSC items (i.e., financial perspective, customer perspective, internal perspective and innovation & learning perspective), questionnaires have been constructed and sent to IVB through e-mail as well as over the Fax. Among the collected 110 samples, reliable 106 samples have been used to build BSC model and to draw our conclusion. In the future study, it would be much better to consider the role of strategy in IVB and the causal relationship among Key Performance Indicators of BSC.

  • Emergence of the fourth generation mobile communication system (4G system) is now in its dawn. This article proposes a perspective framework on the 4G system, and discusses various kinds of system aspects and technological requirements in terms of novel service features, spectrum management, radio access technologies, wired access integration, core network, and mobile terminal. The focus of the article is to define the scope and features of the 4G system in an overall system/network viewpoint. From the foreseeable development trends, it is highly expected that whatever emerges in the 4G system will be some kind of constantly evolving and grand recursive concatenation of all the existing system/network developments.

공과대학 혁신을 위한 재정지원사업 및 교수 평가제도 개선에 관한 연구 (The analysis for improving evaluation system of government-supported program and faculty in developing engineering college)

  • The paper deals with the analysis for improving evaluation system of government-supported program in developing engineering college. I think that it is important to consider evaluation system of government-supported program and faculty in the aspect of policy responsibility and autonomy. I suggest three proposals. First, in the perspective of evaluation system of government-supported program, it is important to keep the balance between SCI-based evaluation and practical & University Industry Corporation (UIC) indicator or keep the balance between quantitative indicators and qualitative indicators. Second, in the perspective of evaluation system of faculty, UIC-friendly evaluation system should be expanded and institutionalized. Finally, the evaluation systems should be not only built, but also utilized for developing engineering college.

시스템사고로 본 압축도시의 공간적 특성과 지속가능성과의 동태적 관계 (System Thinking Perspective on the Dynamic Relationship between Spatial Characteristics of Compact City and Urban Sustainability)

  • The purpose of this paper is to review relationship between spatial characteristics of compact city and urban sustainabiliy from system dynamics perspective using causal loop analysis. It has been argued that spatial characteristics of compact city, high population density and mixed land use, are positively related to urban sustainability. However, research results that are not consistent with pros of compact city argument have been accumulated too. It is especially true when spatial characteristics of compact city are examined with regard to each dimension of sustainablility: economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Reviewing each dimension of sustainability with regard to spatial characteristics based on causal loop analysis, this paper provides more clear understanding on relationship between compact city and sustainability. Also this paper provides a base for system dynamics simulation for future study.

  • This paper presents performance monitoring results of large scale photovoltaic (PV) system supported by general dissemination & regional energy program in korea government polices for new and renewable energy resources. 80kW PV system and monitoring system is constructed and monitored PV system performance to observe the overall effect of environmental conditions on their operation characteristics. The PV system performance has been evaluated and analyzed for component perspective (PV array and power conditioning unit) and global perspective (system efficiency, capacity factor, and electrical power energy and power quality etc.) for six month monitoring periods.

  • A tangible floating display that can provide different perspective views without special glasses being introduced. The proposed system can display perspective floating images in the space in front of the system with the help of concave mirrors. In order to avoid wearing special equipment to interact and deliver the sense of touch, the proposed system adopted an ultrasound focusing technology. For providing an immersive experience to the viewers, the proposed system consists of a tangible floating display system and a multiple-view imaging system for generating three lenticular displays in front of the users.

  • l5kW building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system had been installed and monitored at KIER in May 2003. Data acquisition system (DAS) is constructed for measuring and analyzing performance of PV system to observe the overall effect of environmental conditions on their operation characteristics. Performances of BIPV system have been evaluated and analyzed for component perspective (PV module and array, power conditioning system) and global perspective (system efficiency, capacity factor, electrical power energy) by long-term field test.
