  • In this paper, we tried to implement a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)-based audiometric system to test hearing disorder. Due to the inherent handy nature of PDA system, our hearing test system can be easily performed in an user's local environment and consequently the measured audiometric data can be stored and queryed locally via a built-in PDA database system.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability of a prototype personal digital assistant (PDA)-based decision support system for the management of obesity through usability testing with end-users (Advanced Practice Nurses [APNs]) prior to its implementation in clinical settings. Methods: This descriptive study used observational and think aloud techniques to address the research question: what usability problems are perceived by end-users? Five APNs were provided with the scenarios and the list of tasks to evaluate the application. Their verbalizations were recorded through Morae usabil ity software. Data analysis was based on the data captured through Morae, transcriptions, notes, and the end-user survey. Results: End-users completed all the required tasks without encountering a severe usability problem, and agreed that the system was easy to use. clear, concise, and useful. Usability issues that were unrecognized by the developer or usability experts were identified by APNs. The usability problems were categorized according to positive characteristics, negative characteristics, and recommendations. The usability issues were discussed with the project team members, and solutions were suggested to improve the user interface of the PDA-based decision support system before the final implementation. Conclusions: This approach had an important impact on making the system easier to use and more useful from the perspective of design and content. The results of this evaluation provided iterative feedback regarding the design and implementation of the PDA-based decision support system for the management of obesity.

  • PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)는 GUI(Graphical User Interface) 환경이 필수적이다.

  • This paper embodies the agent based cinder monitoring system which supports PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). Monitoring system automatically manages data by using data managing agents such as a state managing agent, a location managing agent, a badness managing agent, a circumstances managing agent, etc, and uses a massive data processing agent to manage massive data. The development of agent based data monitoring system for the stable cinder reuse will be an epoch-making method to develop the process mechanized or manual-labored that widely spreads into the real-time automated process.

  • As the spread of LBS(Location Based Service), MDT(Mobile Data Terminal) and PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) services using mobile terminals, various systems are under development to to manage the performance of these services. This paper describes a mobile performance management system which is implemented to test the performance of mobility between the user and the terminal or between the terminal and the mobile server automatically in the mobile-user field. The system has four modules: scenario management module, MDT monitoring, LBS monitoring, and PDA monitoring. The scenario management module manages the performance by monitoring all modules. The LBS monitoring module monitors LBS call attempt stage, call connecting stage, and LBS test for established connection. Thus, the LBS monitoring module manages the performance for every stage of the call. The MDT monitoring module monitors the performance according to the input command and the PDA monitoring module monitors according to the input from the set up and the execution menu.

  • This study aims to examine the environmental aspect of users of PDA, an information device whose use is on the rise. The focus is put on the display of PDA products to see how it considered effectiveness and visual effect for users. A better environment will be presented for users by analyzing problems in interface design, such as how easily users can access information and how simply and clearly users can process such information. Additionally, each of PDA products will be tested to see what difficulties users can face while carrying out tasks and how easily users can cope with a problem when facing it. In this study, the utilization of PDA was analyzed in terms of its basic functions such as information input and the output and use of wanted information. Based on the analysis results, a better alternative for uses of PDA will be presented.

  • Currently, in spite of continual efforts, the information utility of the construction industry does not communicate well with other industries. This problem arose from mistaken and misguided efforts on the parts of the construction industry because it left out of consideration construction characteristics which are at the center of construction, and this information system was directly introduced and operated from outside the industry. There were also other mistakes that the existing information systems disregarded in trying to fix these problems. Therefore, this study describes a new process, which proposes to build and utilize a Bridge Management System using the mobile internet concept, to solve the problems of the existing construction information management system.
