  • 전류의 손실 없이 MRI 마그네트의 연구전류 운전을 위한 영구전류스위치(Persistent Current Switch;PCS)를 설계 및 제작하여 그 특성을 측정하였다. 한국전기연구소의 Whole body MRI 마그네트로의 적용을 위해 설계되었으며, 또한 PCS 보빈을 기존의 FRP에 비해 열전도 특성과 기계적 강도가 우수한 알루미늄으로 제작하였다. Main 코일 1개와 Shim 코일 9개의 PCS에 대한 필요한 파라미터를 계산하여 제작하였다. PCS의 기본요구조건인 step 형태의 스위칭 특성과 각 PCS가 실온저항의 50%∼55%의 상전도 저항 특성을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • This paper deals with the preliminary study on the HTSC levitation magnet for MAGLEV operating in persistent current mode (PCM). The high temperature superconducting (HTSC) levitation magnet consists of two single-pancake type coils wound with Bi-2223 wire and a persistent current switch (PCS). The levitation magnet was designed by using 3-D finite element analysis. The suspension system for high-speed electrodynamic suspension (EDS) maglev should operated in persistent current mode. It is important to develop a technology to minimize the joint resistance of splice between two HTSC wires. The PCS was observed with respect to various magnitude of charging current. Based on these results, the levitation system using HTSC wire will be further studied.

  • In order to design thermally trigger controlled persistent current switch(PCS) for MRI magnet system, it is very important to know informations of applied adiabatic method and condition to get designed resistance and characteristics. Adiabatic part of PCS is consist of cotton-gummed tape and cryogenic stycast. This adiabatic method has the advantage of continuously winding superconducting and adiabatic part of PCS and reducing the time of manufacture. We experimentally derived averaged thermal conductivity on the assumption that shape of adiabatic part of PCS is that of pipe. In result, averaged thermal conductivity is about 0.29 W/m K and designed value is very satisfied with actual experimental data.

  • This paper deals with the characteristics of a small scale $high-T_c$ superconducting(HTSC) levitation system. The levitation tester. which models after electrodynamic suspension(EDS) maglev, consists of one HTSC magnet, a reaction plate, and force measuring components. Instead of moving magnet, AC current was applied to the fixed HTSC magnet. The magnet also has persistent current switch(PCS). The inductance of the magnet was 18.5 mH and total joint resistance of the magnet was $5.74{\times}10^{-7}\Omega$. AC current was applied into the HTSC magnet with various frequencies and the levitation force was calculated and measured. According to the increase of the vehicle speed, the levitation force was saturated.

The Persistent Effects of Retirement Pension Reserves - Debate on the effectiveness of the IRP Program (노후소득보장을 위한 퇴직연금 보유의 지속성 분석 -IRP의 실효성 논쟁 중심으로-)

  • The Individual Retirement Pension (IRP) enables workers to continuously receive a retirement pension even when workers change their jobs in different companies and so it performs a bridge fund as the complimentary living expenses until they receive government public pension. Although the Korean government has forced workers to maintain an IRP account until their retirement age and to close their accounts only when they want to do so, it is not clear to measure its really effectiveness and, in fact, most of IRP accounts have been terminated immediately after the changes of their jobs. In this respect, IRP has not performed the bridge role for the future retirement pension income. We provide an economic decision-making model of both government and workers, where the retirement benefits related with the IRP are explicitly considered. Our model is required to select specific severance pay systems to maximize the income security and stability for their future old ages. It is concluded that the need of workers on the severance pay system is automatically revealed into the switch to IRP when workers are out from their current jobs, which is equivalent to the effect of gradually unifying the dual system of the retirement payment. In additoin, our empirical data indicates the relatively higher probability of termination on IRP for the older male workers having the more retirement deposit.
