감 탄닌 추출물의 열 발색공정에 의한 면직물 염색 (Coloration of Cotton Fabrics with Tannins of Persimmon Extracts by Heating Process)

  • In order to examine the availability of a heating process for persimmon dyeing, the cotton fabrics treated with various concentrations of persimmon extracts were heated at various temperatures and times. The raw and fermented persimmon extracts were used for the coloration. For both extracts, the color strength of fabrics was. increased with the increase of coloration temperature, time, and concentration of the extracts. Considering the practical aspects. and color strength, the temperature around $200^{\curc}C$ and the time longer than 60 minutes can be determined as the. optimum coloration conditions of persimmon extracts onto cotton fabrics. However, somewhat loss of strength by the hearing process seems to be inevitable. The color fastness to washing was excellent for both color change and staining showing a rating of 5.

알칼리와 열처리에 의한 면직물의 감즙염색 발색효과 (Effect of Color Developing by Alkali and Heating of Cotton Fabrics Dyed with Persimmon Extract)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the method of color developing with alkali solution as a promotor of color developing for feasible use. Cotton fabric was dyed with persimmon extract ranged with 0~3% alkali component with 5 types of strong to mild alkali solution. Heat treatment for color developing was applied to fabric dyed with persimmon extract and alkali mixing solution. Tests were carried out to analyze the change of surface color, ${\Delta},Ea^*b^*$, and water repellent of the dyed cotton fabric. The alkali mixing sample showed higher ${\Delta},Ea^*b^*$ value than control one without alkali mixing on the base of dyed fabric due to high color developing by alkali in the initial step of dyeing process. As alkali concentration increased, deeper dark color appeared on the fabric. The fabric color was changed to more dark in the application of sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate in the initial step of dyeing process but color was not changed by increased heating time. However, the fabric showed a slight dark color with sodium acetate and more color change than that of the fabric dyed with persimmon extract without alkali. Therefore, sodium acetate seemed to a suitable promotor for color developing in persimmon extract dyeing. Property of water repellent was showed after color developing by heating with low concentration of alkali treatment.

감즙 오색포의 물리.화학적 성질에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Physical and Chemical Properties of the Fabrics Dyed with Persimmon Juice)

  • This study was performed to investigate the physical and chemical properties of the 5 kinds of fabrics dyed with persimmon juice and undyed fabrics. The difference between dyed and undyed fabrics was checked experimentally. Obtained results are as follows. 1. Bending length and flex stiffness were increased after dyeing, and tensile strength of waif i3l fabrics except Ramie was also increased. 2. Abrasion resistance was improved in Ramie and Hemp after dyeing but the rest of fabrics were decreased. 3. Crease resistance of dyed fabrics was roughly worse than that of undyed fabrics. 4. Air permeability remarkably increased after dyeing and this fact estabilished that the traditional Gal-01 was cool clothing. 5. Water repellency in Cotton 1 and Polyester rises but the rest of fabrics were not changed. Therefore it is found that this repellency related to the their fabric counts. 6. Blocking effect of UV light and visible ray was increased in all dyed fabrics. Especially dyed Cotton 1 and Polyester blocked UV light almost perfectly. 7. The colorfastness to soaping and sunlight was proved to less than 3 grade in all fabrics after dyeing. It indicates that this colorfastness became worse owing to dyeing. 8. The colorfastness to dry cleaning and water was decided to more than 3 grade in all fabrics. 9. The colorfastness of the dyed fabrics to sweat after exposing to man-made acid sweat solution was good so that was decided above 3 grade. However after exposing to man-made alkalic sweat solution it became worse owing to dyeing.

Dyeing Fastness and Functional Properties of Cotton Dyed with Astringent Persimmon Juice

  • I reviewed about dyeing fastness and functional properties of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron mordant dyed cotton with astringent persimmon juice. In the UV-VIS spectrum of astringent persimmon juice, the maximum absorption wavelength of the juice was 272.0 nm, which was a characteristic peak of tannin. In dyeing fastness, light fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton was a little low at grade 2~3. But by the iron mordant treatment, the light fastness was good at grade 4. Dry cleaning fastness to discoloration and contamination was excellent at grade 4~5 for both the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton. Their rub fastness were grade 3 and grade 2~3 respectively, in the dry condition, and grade 2~3 and grade 3 respectively, in the wet condition. In the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, the discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was grade 3~4 and grade 3, respectively, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was relatively good at grade 4. Meanwhile, in the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was fair, both recording grade 3~4, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was very good, both recording grade 4~5. In the ultraviolet protection effect of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton, the ultraviolet protection factor was both 50+, both of which showed an excellent ultraviolet blocking effect. And the protection rate of UV-A appeared 98.4% and 99.1%, respectively, and the protection rate of UV-B showed 98.7% and 99.2, respectively. In addition, both exhibited an excellent deodorization rate over 99.9% or more, irrespective of the passage of time. Also, both showed an excellent antimicrobial activity over 99.9% or more against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

제주 천연자원 감을 모티브로 한 유·아동복 텍스타일 디자인 연구 (A study on textile design for infant and children's clothes with the motive of Jeju natural resource persimmon)

  • The natural resources of Jeju are recognized as the new regional image of that clean island. Reflecting these trends, this study is initiated to develop a textile design with the motive of persimmon, a natural resource of Jeju, and to apply it to infant's and children's clothes. Its purpose is to highlight the image of persimmon, a traditional dye, as a regional signature for Jeju. Product development procedure included, understanding the use of persimmon for fashion products, analyzing Infants' and Children's designer collections over the last three seasons (focused on 2014S/S, 2015S/S, and 2016S/S), and surveying the Children's Clothes market for persimmon dyeing in Jeju. The conclusion was that, the natural resources of Jeju are highly valuable, and should be applied to textile design and apparel products for children. Utilizing Jeju persimmon was actively studied, but, the market for the Jeju persimmon natural - dyeing products is extremely limited. Moreover, the apparel products for infants and children represent old-fashioned styles, despite their higher prices. Therefore, using the formative characteristics of persimmon for each theme was suggested for development of patterns for textile design. Pattern designs were expressed using textured textile screen-printing, embroidery and $appliqu{\acute{e}}$ for infants' and children's clothes. In this study, a total of 10 items were prepared as apparel products for infants and children. All items were designed considering mix-and-match, potential, with each other or with regular mass-market products. These results are expected to contribute to highlighting the unique image of Jeju and to help promote fashion culture products.

풋감과 감태의 이성분 복합염료 제조와 섬유 염색성 고찰 (Preparing Bi-component Dye of Unripe Diospyros kaki THUNB. Fruit and Ecklonia cava and Investigating Its Dyeing Propeties on Fabric)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 대표적인 전통 천연염색 기술인 풋감 염색의 단점인 뻣뻣한 촉감을 개선하고 천연자원을 효율적으로 활용하기 위하여 갈조류 감태와의 이성분 복합염료를 제조하여 염색성을 타진하고자 하였다. 풋감과 감태로 각 단일염료를 제조하고 단일염료 간의 혼합 비율을 달리한 동시 일욕염색을 실시한 결과, 전통 풋감 염색직물과의 색채의 차이가 허용 가능하고 염색 직물의 강연성이 가장 낮아져서 촉감의 개선이 기대되는 최적의 감태 혼합비율은 6%로 판단하였다. 이 혼합 비율로 풋감과 감태의 단일 염료를 혼합하여 열수추출과 필터링을 거쳐 동결건조시킨 이성분 복합염료를 제조하여, 염료의 입자 크기가 각 단일염료보다 미세하며, 풋감의 기능성 성분인 카테킨 함량이 유지됨을 확인하였다. 또한 이성분 복합염료로 염색한 면직물은 일욕염색 직물보다 전통 풋감 단일염색 직물과의 색차가 더 적어서 전통 풋감 염색과 시각적으로 차이가 없었으며, 강연성이 더 낮아져서 뻣뻣한 촉감이 완화되는 것으로 사료되었다. 따라서 풋감/감태의 이성분 복합염료는 풋감을 이용한 전통 천연염색 제품의 촉감을 개선할 뿐 아니라, 천연자원을 효율적으로 활용하는 데에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

감즙 염색에 의한 합성직물의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Synthetic Fabrics Dyed with Persimmon juice)

  • Synthetic fabrics, such as nylon and polyester, were dyed with persimmon juice by using a padding mangle repeatedly. The mechanical properties of these synthetic fabrics were analyzed using the Kawabata evaluation system. The following findings were obtained from this investigation. As the number of repetitions of padding dyeing increased, the tensile energy per unit area and the tensile resilience of synthetic fabric remained almost unchanged, whereas the linearity of the load-extension curve of the synthetic fabrics increased. As the number of padding repetitions increased, the synthetic fabrics dyed with persimmon juice exhibited increases in thickness and weight. As the number of repetitions of padding treatment with persimmon juice increased, the values of stiffness, anti-drape stiffness, fullness, and softness also increased, whereas the flexibility with soft feeling, crispness, and scrooping sensation significantly decreased. The amount of coated persimmon juice on the surface of the fabrics increased after three repetitions of padding treatment with persimmon juice. Nylon and polyester fabrics were dyed evenly with persimmon juice treated using a padding mangle.

갈옷의 제작방법과 디자인 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Constructing and Designing Method of the Gal Ot)

  • 제주도민이 오랫동안 주로 노동복으로 착용해 온 갈옷의 이용 범위를 확대시키기 위하여 현대 감각에 맞는 갈옷의 일상복과 외출복을 고안하여 제작하였다. 또한 감물 염색으로 퇴색된 옷을 재활용하는 방법, 염색방법의 고찰, 감즙 염색에 있어서 재질의 적합성과 다양성 등을 살펴보았다 그 결과 재활용 아동복과 소창을 이용한 개량한복에의 응용은 갈옷 이용 범위의 확대를 시사하였다. 앞으로 갈옷의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 염색법의 간소화와 후처리법의 개발에 연구의 중점을 두면서 갈옷의 장점을 이용하여 용도에 알맞은 디자인을 계속해서 연구, 개발한다면 우리 전통 의상인 갈옷을, 시대에 어울리는 실용적인 의상으로 발전시킬 수 있을 것이다.

감즙염색을 이용한 학습자료와 교수-학습과정안 개발 및 적용이 전통 의생활문화 교육에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Development and Application of Teaching-Learning Materials and Plan using Persimmon juice Dyeing on the Traditional Clothing Life-Culture Education)

  • 본 연구에서는 전통 의생활문화에 대한 인식을 고취시키고자 우리나라의 대표적 전통 천연염색 중 하나인 감즙염색을 이용한 학습자료를 제작하고 전통 의생활문화 체험이 가능한 교수-학습과정안을 개발하였다. 연구방법에 있어서 교육적 효과를 조사하기 위해서는 설문지를 작성하였고, 수업 실시 전과 후의 교육적 효과를 검증하기 위해서는 t-test, Kruscal-Wallis 검정 및 상관분석을 행하였다. 이를 고등학교 기술 가정과에 '감즙염색 직물을 이용한 생활소품 만들기' 주제로 수업에 적용하여 전통 이미지에 대한 인식의 변화와 학습에 대한 흥미도 및 태도 변화를 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 감즙염색에 관해 연구해온 축적물로 독창적인 학습자료를 개발하여 감즙염색과 전통 의생활문화를 이해하기 위한 협동학습을 실시한 결과, 현대 감각을 살린 아이디어 소품이 창출되었다. 둘째, '청소년의 전통 의생활문화와 교육에 대한 인식'에 있어, 수업 전과 후의 차이를 나타내어 수업 후에 인식의 향상을 보였다. 나아가 조사대상을 상/중/하위 그룹으로 분류하여 분석한 결과, 긍정적인 변화에 있어서도 그룹 간 차이를 보였는데, 사전 점수가 가장 낮았던 하위 그룹에서 가장 높은 향상을 나타내었다. 셋째, '감즙염색 직물을 이용한 생활소품 만들기' 수업의 효과를 분석한 결과, 모든 문항에서 '보통' 이상으로 나타나, 학생들은 감즙염색 직물로 생활소품 만들기 체험을 통하여 전통 의생활문화에 대한 관심과 흥미도가 높아졌고 태도가 긍정적으로 변화하였음이 확인되었다. 넷째, 전통 의생활문화 인식과 그 교육에 대한 인식 간에는 문화에 대한 인식이 높은 학습자일수록 그 교육에 대한 인식도 높아 정적인 상관이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같이 개발된 학습자료와 교수-학습과정안을 통한 전통 의생활문화 수업은 전통적인 천연염색과 의생활문화에 대한 가치와 의미를 이해하는 인식에서 향상된 변화를 가져왔고, 아이디어를 창출하는 교육적 효과를 가져왔다. 전통 의생활 문화 교육은 지속적이고 다면적인 심화된 연구와 현장교육의 상호작용이 이루어질 때 교육적 시너지효과가 더 발현될 것이다.
