A Study on the Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics of the Solenoid Valve of Automatic Transmission (A/T용 솔레노이드 밸브의 동특성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • To reduce the shock in shifting, the clutches and the brakes in automatic transmission have to be connected smoothly and disconnected rapidly. It is PCSV(Pressure Control Solenoid Valve) that paly this role of automatic transmission. In this paper, there were two steps in the analysis of the PCSV. The first step was modeling the elctromagnet by the permeance method. The second step was modeling the hydraulic circuit by the pressure differential equa- tion. In addition to this modeling, a experiment was performed and the commercial package program was used in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincide with the result of experiment and commercial package program. As a result, this modeling is usable in analysis of dynamic characteristics of the PCSV.

  • MFL(Magnetic Flux Leakage) methods are used extensively for inspection of ferromagnetic materials. As an example, pipelines that are buried underground are inspected using MFL methods. By the MFL methods, ferromagnetic pipelines are magnetized by a permanent magnet or an electromagnet and then flux leakage is detected at the defection position. In this paper, we perform modeling of the magnetized pipelines. Also we propose the method localization of th defected areas. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified experimentally.

  • Anti-lock Brake System has been developed to reduce tendency for wheel lock and improve vehicle control during sudden braking on slippery road surfaces. This is achieved by controlling the braking pressure avoiding wheel lock, while retaining handling and brake performance. This paper is concerned about characteristics of a solenoid valve in hydraulic modulator for controlling brake pressure. First, it was modeling the electromagnet by the permeance method. Second, it was modeling the commercial Maxwell poackage program. And then, a experiment was performed in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincided with teh result of experiment and commercial packabe program. As a result, these modelings will be able to use in analysis of dynamic character- istics of the solenoid valve for braking.

  • Torque is proportional to the rate of change of inductance in a switched reluctance motor (SRM), and hence, phase inductance is an important parameter in determining the behavior of an SRM. Therefore, the accurate prediction of inductance with respect to rotor position makes a significant contribution to designing an SRM and its analytical approach is not straightforward due to nonlinear flux distribution. Although several different approaches using a finite element analysis (FEA) or curve-fitting tool have been employed to compute phase inductance [2-5], they are not suitable for a simple design procedure because the FEA necessitates a large amount of time in both modeling and solving with complexity for every motor design, and the curve-fitting requires the data of flux linkage from either an experimental test or an FEA simulation. In this paper, phase inductance is predicted by means of a permeance method, and the proposed approach is analytically verified in terms of the accuracy of estimated inductance compared to inductance obtained by FEA.

  • In this study, it is analyzed that an electromagnet whose generating force is proportional to constant current through coil in its coperating range. To find arelation between magnetic force and the structure in electromagnet, computer simulation method is used by permeance modeling method. When the electromagnet is applied to flow control valve, the relation between input current and flow is found. In order to get a reliability of computer simluation, the simulation results are compared to the experimental result. As the simulation is processed repeatedlyl. it is found that the gap size between plunger and guide steel and the length of tapered brass ring are important factors in electromaget.

  • Magnetic circuit is a physical modeling method that is useful in designing and analyzing power transformers, especially for a priori evaluation of leakage and magnetizing inductance before actual production. In this study, a novel modeling approach that uses PSIM magnetic elements adopting gyrator and permeance-capacitances is investigated. A formula to determine the permeance-capacitors in the core and leakage path are established, and a simulation jig is devised to link the physical model and the electrical terminal characteristics with an automated parameter determination process. The derived formula is verified by measurement results of the prototype transformer samples. Given its accuracy and simplicity, this approach is suitable for analyzing and designing LLC resonant transformers whose leakage and magnetizing inductance are very critical to circuit operation.

  • To improve the hydraulic control performance of ABS, it is necessary to establish an efficient control algorithm. And also it is necessary to ova]Hate a hydraulic modulator with solenoid valve quantitatively. In this paper, FEM and permeance method are used to analyze dynamic characteristics of outlet valve. In return, mathmatical modeling of a hydraulic modulator and operating pressure is presented, and the model parameters of an outlet valve are moving plunger, spring constant and orifice diameter. This study shows the way to improve the dynamic characteristic of an ABS outlet valve heavily depending on operating pressure. It is recommended that operating pressure should be justified at the first step toward the design to get the optimal design of an outlet valve.

  • Near field technology makes it possible to overcome the diffraction limit of laser beam and create the small spot. Because of the small spot size, the pit size and track pitch can be decreased. So the high performance actuator is needed for near field recording system. And the light mass and the small form factor are also important properties of the NFR actuator in order to be used for hand held device. The purpose of this paper is the optimal design of the NFR coarse actuator to maximize actuating force. The structure of NFR coarse actuator is the same as HDD VCM actuator. The permeance method is used for modeling of the coarse actuator. The optimal result and the FEM simulation result are presented.

  • This paper did the study target for modeling, characteristics analysis and harmonic reduce with the detent torque of a 4 phase and 5 phase hybrid type step motor. For this, it was attempted to derive the mathematical modeling and used the permeance method for flux field analysis. Through this analysis result, this paper acquired the detent torque of this model. To compare the characteristics analysis of phase difference with two motors structure it have obtained to derive the operating detent torque with this model. Here, 5 phase motor has known the harmonic reduce of detail torque compare with 4 phase motor. Also, that has showed to improved the step response. The analysis result has represent the effect that a fundamental component of the permeance distribution produces the average torque and that harmonic components produce the ripple torque.
