  • A mechanical or electrical stimulation to the mandibular symphysis during a maximal voluntary clenching of the teeth always produces a jaw jerk followed by a silent period (transient stops) in the masseteric EMG (electromyogram). Generally, a mechanical stimulation is followed by a single silent period, and an electrical stimulation is followed by multiple silent periods. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for determining the duration of the masseter silent period. The decision approach in essentially based upon a segmentation algorithm consisted of variance filter, median filter and gaussian filter. The new adaptive digital notch filter using R-CLMS(reverse constrained least mean-squared) algorithm is proposed for the elimination of powerline(60Hz) noise. At the same time, we design a real time measurement system for the EMG silent period under Window base.

  • For the purpose of developing KOREA herbalogy and prescription therapeutics I study the prescriptions among the DONG-UE-BO-GAM. The conclusions are as fallows; 1. There were total 97 prescriptions contended the Bupleurum as gunyak among the DONG-UE-BO-GAM. 2. The currental prescriptions contended the Bupleurum as gunyak were HAN period :1 disease 1 prescription, SONG period :6 diseases 6 prescriptions, GUEM and WON period: 14 diseases 23 prescriptions, MYONG period: 30 diseases 63 prescriptions. 3. The most high frequency of currental effect of the Bupleurum were HAN period: sang-han(傷寒), GUEM and WON period: hak(?), sang-han(傷寒) and gol-gueng-yel(骨蒸熱), MYONG period: sang-han(傷寒), hak(?), on-yek(溫疫), juek-chui(積聚) and an(眼). 4. The most high frequency effect of the Bupleurum as gunyak were sang-han(傷寒): 15 prescriptions, hak(?): 12 prescriptions, on-yek(溫疫) 7 prescriptions etc.

  • The natural period calculation equations specified in the current building code are empirical formulas that depend on height and material type of the structure. Building with the upper wall and lower frame type is a unique structure which composed of two different structural system This type of structure needs either the deep transfer girder or the thick transfer plate that brings the sudden change of stiffness and mass. Therefore the natural period equations recommended by the current code can not be applied directly. In this study the natural period of building with typical plan obtained by dynamci analysis is compared with that of various codes. Ad approximate estimation equation for the natural period of building with the upper wall and lower frame type obtained by regression analysis is recommended. by the current code can not be applied directly.   • This study intended to examine the changes of residential building characteristics in period classification. The results of this study are as follows: During Joseon dynasty, it is judged that the social changes in the ideology of ruling classes did not directly affect the traditional residential style. The mid period and latter period of Joseon, it is changed toward horizontal and practical residential layout in place of confucian courtesy based style. During port opening period, the traditional residential style was remodeled through addition of glass panes to inter-chamber floor in tune with the influx of modern materials and ideologies like glass or cement etc. The Japanese ruling era of Korea period, the modern housing style of room separation type was settled.

  • This paper aims at investigating the realities of puerperal period of Korean women, chiefly in the city of Seoul, on the basis of their living standard, schooling caree by age groups, to contribute to the improvement in health of mother and child. In this paper in which the writer, aming 492 women in Seoul a subject of this investigation and giving them 34 items of questionnaires, has studied their concern and practices to recover their health during a lying-in period, and drawn a conclusion as follows : Though their place of childbirth and food they take during the period are varied according to their standard of living, their practices and managements after parturition are true to the conventional usage which is far from modern scientific methods. Problems for the better management during puerperal period are : 1. to have expactent and nursing mothers better educated in their antenatal care ; 2. to let the family planners have more understanding about the problems of puerperal period ; 3. to make those who are concerned study on the problems interdependent between puerperal period and pregnancy and child birth.

  • In this paper MIP(mean inventory period) Model and OMMIP decision flow have been developed. MIP model can calculate mean inventory period which is subject to the order quantity alternative plan. OMMIP decision flow leads how can decide the most minimized order quantity in mean inventory period among various order quantity alternatives. This paper also suggests how to select the order quantity with minimum inventory period as optimal order quantity by means of comparison each mean inventory period with other mean inventory period, after simulating EOQ and order quantity of OMMIP calculated in MIP model.

  • This study investigated the initial capital trend of newly-established fisheries companies during the Japanese occupation period. The initial capital size of fisheries companies provides information about the viability of the fisheries companies as well as the utilization intensity of fisheries resources. According to the analysis results, the average initial capital size of fisheries companies was larger in the enforcement period of "Chosun Company Ordinance" than in its abolition period. The initial capital size of the Chosun-capital fisheries company was smaller than that of the Japanese-capital fisheries company during the Japanese occupation period. The number of new fisheries companies funded by Chosun capital was less than the number of new fisheries companies funded by Japanese capital. Therefore, it could be seen that the Japanese fisheries companies had stronger dominance in the fisheries sector than the Chosun fisheries companies during the Japanese occupation period, and that Japanese fisheries companies were more viable than Chosun fisheries companies.

  • The study was designed to examine the of effects of level of protein intake on Cu metabolism in 6 healthy young adult women. The subjects were given 4 levels of protein diet, 0.45g (period I), 0.60g (period III), 0.75g (period II) and 0.90g (period IV) of protein per Kg of body weight and 0.86mg 0.70mg, 1.86mg and 2.34mg of Cu per day for 5 days respectively. During the experimental period, urine sample were collected everyday and fecal sample were collected for last 2 days of each dietary period. The samples were analyzed for Cu contents. Mean daily urinary Cu excretion were $0.12{\pm}0.03mg$ for period I, $0.16{\pm}0.02mg$ for period III, $0.35{\pm}0.08mg$ for period II and $0.11{\pm}0.02mg$ for period IV, and the mean daily urinary excretion of Cu was not affected significant difference by the level of protein intake. Mean daily fecal Cu excretion were $0.12{\pm}0.03mg$ for period I, $0.16{\pm}0.02mg$ for period III, $0.35{\pm}0.08mg$ for period II and $0.11{\pm}0.02mg$ for period IV, and the mean daily urinary excretion of Cu was not affected significant difference by the level of protein intake. Mean dailey Mean dailey fecal Cu excretion were $1.23{\pm}0.16mg$ for period I, $1.28{\pm}0.25mg$ for period III, $0.99{\pm}0.01mg$ for period II and $1.85{\pm}0.19mg$ for period IV, and the difference of the 2 periods I vs IV was significant(p<0.05). Mean dailey cu balance were $0.48{\pm}0.14mg$ for period I, $0.74{\pm}0.26mg$ for period III, $0.52{\pm}0.12mg$ for period II and $0.38{\pm}0.20mg$ for period IV, and the difference of the 2 periods I vs IV was significant(p<0.05).

  • Characteristics of pollutant load during irrigation and non-irrigation periods was investigated for streamwater from a rural watershed. Water was sampled and discharge was measured at 5-days intervals at outlet of study area. The mean concentrations of TN and TP in an irrigation period are higher than in an non-irrigation period, while mean COD concentration in an irrigation period is lower than in a non-irrigation period. For increasing discharge during an irrigation period, TN concentration increase, TP concentration is nearly unchanged, and COD concentrations decreases.

  • We present a period analysis of the well known $\beta$ Lyrae type eclipsing binary GO Cyg $(P= 0^d .7177)$. Several new times of minimum light, recorded photoelectrically, have been gathered. Analysis of all available eclipse timings of GO Cyg has confirmed a significant period increase with rate of $2.52 {\times} 10^{-10}$ day / cycle, also new period has been estimated. New linear and quadratic ephemerides have been calculated for the system.
