An attribute based signature system is a cryptographic system where users produce signatures based on some predicate of attributes, using keys issued by one or more attribute authorities. If a private key is leaked during signature generation, the signature can be forged. Therefore, signing operation computations should be performed using secure hardware, which is called tamper resistant hardware in this paper. However, since tamper resistant hardware does not provide high performance, it cannot perform many operations requiring attribute based signatures in a short time frame. This paper proposes a new attribute based signature system using high performance general hardware and low performance tamper resistant hardware. The proposed signature scheme consists of two signature schemes within a existing attribute based signature scheme and a digital signature scheme. In the proposed scheme, although the attribute based signature is performed in insecure environments, the digital signature scheme using tamper resistant hardware guarantees the security of the signature scheme. The proposed scheme improves the performance by 11 times compared to the traditional attribute based signature scheme on a system using only tamper resistant hardware.
Recently, with the development of deep learning technology, research on pedestrian attribute recognition technology using deep neural networks has been actively conducted. Existing pedestrian attribute recognition techniques can be obtained in such a way as global-based, regional-area-based, visual attention-based, sequential prediction-based, and newly designed loss function-based, depending on how pedestrian attributes are detected. It is known that the performance of these pedestrian attribute recognition technologies varies greatly depending on the type of backbone network that constitutes the deep neural networks model. Therefore, in this paper, several backbone networks are applied to the baseline pedestrian attribute recognition model and the performance changes of the model are analyzed. In this paper, the analysis is conducted using Resnet34, Resnet50, Resnet101, Swin-tiny, and Swinv2-tiny, which are representative backbone networks used in the fields of image classification, object detection, etc. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the change in time complexity when inferencing each backbone network using a CPU and a GPU.
For an efficient role based access control in highly distributed computing environment to reduce management cost, we utilize attribute certificates. Especially highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments which cannot have global or broad control, need another attribute certificate management technique. The techniques for transmission of the attribute certificates and management of the group keys should be considered to reduce management cost. For better performance we structure attribute certificates. We group roles and make the role group relation tree. It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution. For scalable attribute certificate distribution, multicasting packets are used. We take into account the packet loss and quantifying performance enhancements of structuring attribute certificates.

Shewhart-type control charts have historically been used for attribute data, though they have ARL biased property and even are unable to detect the improvement of a process with some process parameters. So far most efforts have been made to improve the performance of attribute control charts in terms of faster detection of special causes without increasing the rates of false alarm. In this paper, control limits are proposed that yield an ARL (nearly) unbiased chart for attributes. Optimal design is also proposed for attribute control charts under a natural sense of criterion.

Data fusion is an attractive technology because it allows various trade-offs related to performance metrics, e.g., energy, latency, accuracy, fault-tolerance and security in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Under a complicated environment, each sensor node must be equipped with more than one type of sensor module to monitor multi-targets, so that the complexity for the fusion process is increased due to the existence of various physical attributes. In this paper, we first investigate the process and performance of multi-attribute fusion in data gathering of WSNs, and then propose a self-adaptive threshold method to balance the different change rates of each attributive data. Furthermore, we present a method to measure the energy-conservation efficiency of multi-attribute fusion. Based on our proposed methods, we design a novel energy equilibrium routing method for WSNs, viz., multi-attribute fusion tree (MAFT). Simulation results demonstrate that MAFT achieves very good performance in terms of the network lifetime.

Collaborative filtering algorithms often encounter data sparsity issues. To overcome this issue, auxiliary information of relevant items is analyzed and an item attribute matrix is derived. In this study, we combine the user-item attribute preference with the traditional similarity calculation method to develop an improved similarity calculation approach and use weights to control the importance of these two elements. A collaborative filtering algorithm based on user-item attribute preference is proposed. The experimental results show that the performance of the recommender system is the most optimal when the weight of traditional similarity is equal to that of user-item attribute preference similarity. Although the rating-matrix is sparse, better recommendation results can be obtained by adding a suitable proportion of user-item attribute preference similarity. Moreover, the mean absolute error of the proposed approach is less than that of two traditional collaborative filtering algorithms.
This paper presents a QRS recognition algorithm using attribute grammar and its interpreter. This system extracts primitive and their attributes by linear approximation technique and then represented linguistic formation using attribute grammar. These nonterminals and their attributes are evaluated by attribute grammar interpreter. The performance of the QRS recognition algorithm has been evaluated using arrhythmia simulator and CSE ECG library.

In order to prevent the elderly people from committing suicide attempts, it is necessary to verify attributes that affect the suicide attempts. It is noted that previous studies have focused on qualitative approaches, and simple correlation analyses to determine the attributes related to the suicide attempts in the elderly people. However, such previous approaches had led to insufficient performance when facing with complicated data sets. In this sense, this study suggests an alternative method in which attribute selection techniques are adopted to determine more relevant attributes of the suicide attempts occurring in Korean elderly people. To verify empirical validity of our proposed method, we used Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) from January 2007 to December 2012. Empirical results proved that the proposed attribute selection techniques showed better predictive effectiveness; 94.4% compared to the simple statistical methods. This study proposes a way to determining the elderly suicide and preventing it to happen.

Multiple attribute for decision making including user preference will increase the complexity of route selection process. Various approaches have been proposed to solve the optimal route selection problem. In this paper, multi attribute decision making (MADM) algorithms such as Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Weighted Product Method (WPM), Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and Total Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods have been proposed for acoustic signature based optimal route selection to facilitate user with better quality of service. The traffic density state conditions (very low, low, below medium, medium, above medium, high and very high) on the road segment is the occurrence and mixture weightings of traffic noise signals (Tyre, Engine, Air Turbulence, Exhaust, and Honks etc) is considered as one of the attribute in decision making process. The short-term spectral envelope features of the cumulative acoustic signals are extracted using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Classifier (ANFC) is used to model seven traffic density states. Simple point method and AHP has been used for calculation of weights of decision parameters. Numerical results show that WPM, AHP and TOPSIS provide similar performance.

In order to improve the performance of relational databases, one has to reduce the number of disk accesses necessary to transfer data from disk to main memory. The paper proposes to reduce the number of disk I/O accesses by vertically partitioning relation into fragments and allowing attribute replication to fragments if necessary. When zero-one integer programming model is solved by the branch-and-bound method, it requires much computing time to solve a large sized problem. Therefore, heuristic solutions using genetic algorithm(GA) are presented. GA in this paper adapts a few ideas which are different from traditional genetic algorithms, for examples, a rank-based sharing fitness function, elitism and so on. In order to improve performance of GA, a set of optimal parameter levels is determined by the experiment and makes use of it. As relations are vertically partitioned allowing attribute replications and saved in disk, an attribute replicating vertical partition method by GA can attain less access cost than non-attribute-replication one and require less computing time than the branch-and-bound method in large-sized problems. Also, it can acquire a good solution similar to the optimum solution in small-sized problem.
