다중 안테나 시스템을 위한 이중 검출 기반의 신호검출 기법 (A Signal Detection Method based on the Double Detection for Spatially Multiplexed MIMO Systems)

  • 공간적으로 다중화된 다중 안테나 시스템에서 OSIC계열의 신호검출 기법은 실현 가능한 연산 복잡도를 가지며 ML성능에 도달하기 위해 지속적으로 발전해 왔다. 하지만 지금까지 제안된 다양한 OSIC 기반의 준 최적 신호검출 기법들은 특정 비트의 연 판정 값을 계산하는 과정에서 공 벡터 문제가 발생하여 상당한 연 판정 성능 저하를 보인다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 다양한 해결 방안이 제안되었지만 연 판정 ML성능에 도달하지 못하거나, 도달하기 위해서는 많은 후보 벡터들이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 복수개의 재 정렬된 채널 행렬과 각 채널 행렬의 QR분해 시 존재하는 상 삼각 행렬의 구조를 효율적으로 이용하는 이중 검출을 바탕으로 공 벡터 문제를 효과적으로 차단하며 경 판정 ML성능뿐만 아니라 연 판정 ML성능에 근접하는 신호 검출 기법을 제안한다. 성능과 연산 복잡도 관점에서 제안된 검출기법은 기존의 제안된 준 최적 검출기법 보다 동일한 성능에서 더 적은 연산 복잡도를 가지거나, 증가된 복잡도 만큼 더 우수한 연 판정 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

  • As a new technical approach, a hydraulic and magnetic clamp device was developed to realize a magnetic clamp crane system by simultaneously actuating eight individual hydraulic cylinders. In this approach, an Sr-type of ferritic permanent magnet (SrO· 6Fe2O3), rather than the previous electromagnet, was utilized for the purpose of lifting and transporting the large curved steel plates used for manufacturing ships. This study had the goal of developing and manufacturing a hydraulic, magnetic clamp prototype composed of three main parts, including the base frame, cylinder joint, and magnet joint, in order to safely transport curved steel plates. Furthermore, this research included a performance evaluation of the manufactured prototype and acquired the purposed quantity value in the performance test. The most significant item, the magnetic adhesive force (G), was evaluated in a performance test, which utilized a ferritic permanent magnet (Sr type) with 3700~4000 G of residual induction (Br) and 2640/2770 Oe of coercive force (Hc). In particular, relevant items such as the hoist tension (kN), transportation time (s), and applied load (Kgf) on the hydraulic cylinders were also evaluated in order to determine the optimum values.

시선추적기법을 활용한 고령층의 키오스크 사용성 연구 (Study on the Elder's Kiosk Usability Using Eye Tracking Technique)

  • Purpose - This study evaluated the impact of digital literacy on the usability of kiosks among the elderly using eye-tracking technology. Participants were classified into high, medium, and low digital literacy groups, and their performance in usability metrics such as time to first fixation, fixation duration, and task completion time was compared. The goal was to uncover how digital literacy influenced elderly users' interactions with kiosks and to provide insights for targeted educational interventions. Design/methodology/approach - An experimental approach was employed, utilizing eye-tracking technology to assess the usability of a standardized kiosk interface among elderly participants. Participants were categorized into digital literacy groups based on a survey, and their performance across various usability metrics was recorded and analyzed. The study aimed to identify differences in visual attention and task performance that were linked to digital literacy levels. Findings - The study found that higher digital literacy levels were correlated with better performance in kiosk usability metrics. Participants with higher digital literacy had shorter times to first fixation, reduced fixation durations, and faster task completion times compared to those with lower literacy levels. These results emphasized the importance of digital literacy in facilitating more efficient use of kiosks by the elderly. Research implications or Originality - This study provided new insights into the importance of digital literacy in improving the usability of digital interfaces for older adults. By employing eye-tracking technology, it offered objective data on how digital literacy influenced visual attention and task performance. The findings suggested the need for comprehensive digital literacy programs tailored to the elderly, which could have helped bridge the digital divide and enhance their social inclusion.

인접 셀 간섭 환경에서 모바일 인터넷 시스템의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Mobile Internet System in Inter-cell Interference Environment)

  • 모바일 인터넷 시스템의 목표는 고속 데이터 율, 낮은 지연 그리고 유연한 대역폭 진화를 제공할 수 있는 최적화된 패킷 무선접속기술을 제공하는 것이다. 따라서 연속적인 이동성과 서비스 품질 그리고 최소지연을 갖는 패킷 스위치 트래픽 목표를 제공하는 LTE 네트워크 구조가 설계되었다. LTE 시스템에서의 중요한 요구조건은 셀 경계에서의 BER 성능과 데이터 처리율을 개선하는 것이다. 이것은 통신 지역에서 지리적 영역과 데이터 처리율 측면에서 서비스의 일관성을 제공한다. 하지만 셀룰러 시스템에서 셀의 중앙과 경계지역 사용자 사이의 SINR 차이는 20 [dB] 정도가 된다. 이러한 차이는 통신 영역이 제한된 셀룰러 시스템에서 더욱 크다. 이 현상은 셀 중앙의 사용자에 비하여 셀 경계의 사용자에게 대단히 낮은 데이터 처리율 유발하고 큰 QoS 차이를 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서 인접 셀 간섭을 감소하기 위한 분석적인 방법을 제시하고 모바일 인터넷 환경에서 OFDM 시스템 파라미터에 따른 SIR 및 BER 성능을 보였다.

  • The ultimate goal of health promotion programs is to improve the quality of life through promoting community health. Since the performance of health promotion programs are greatly affected by the quality of the planning and implementation process of the programs, the proper quality assessment of the program process is very important. According to existing literature, the tool for assessing the quality of the process and implementation as well as the outcome. However, no assessment tool for the quality of the process of health promotion programs has been developed in Korea. The purpose of the study is to develop a quality assessment tool for the process of health promotion programs being conducted at public health centers in Korea. The quality assessment tool developed in the study consists of the following four domains: strategic planning (14 items), program management (11 items), monitoring and evaluation (13 items), and resources and information (15 items). The strategic planning deals with the function of the planning staff and committees, community data analysis, the feasibility of the program, and the approach methods for attaining the goal of the program. The program management includes items on the qualification and power of the program staff. Monitoring and evaluation deals with the planning and education for monitoring, reporting and communication among program units, and feedback after monitoring. Finally, the resource and information covers the planning and activities for obtaining resources and information, community networking, beneficiaries' response, and consulting activity of the staff.

The Implementation of RRTs for a Remote-Controlled Mobile Robot

  • The original RRT is iteratively expanded by applying control inputs that drive the system slightly toward randomly-selected states, as opposed to requiring point-to-point convergence, as in the probabilistic roadmap approach. It is generally known that the performance of RRTs can be improved depending on the selection of the metrics in choosing the nearest vertex and bias techniques in choosing random states. We designed a path planning algorithm based on the RRT method for a remote-controlled mobile robot. First, we considered a bias technique that is goal-biased Gaussian random distribution along the command directions. Secondly, we selected the metric based on a weighted Euclidean distance of random states and a weighted distance from the goal region. It can save the effort to explore the unnecessary regions and help the mobile robot to find a feasible trajectory as fast as possible. Finally, the constraints of the actuator should be considered to apply the algorithm to physical mobile robots, so we select control inputs distributed with commanded inputs and constrained by the maximum rate of input change instead of random inputs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is significantly more efficient for planning than a basic RRT planner. It reduces the computational time needed to find a feasible trajectory and can be practically implemented in a remote-controlled mobile robot.

The Significance of the Analytical Sciences In Environmental Assessment

  • The quality of human life is directly related to the quality of the environment. To assess environmental quality we must first determine the MCLG(Maximum Contaminant Level Goal), MCL(Maximum Contaminant Level), environmental impact and so on. The MCLG is the concentration at which no known adverse health effects occur. The MCLG is determined by risk assessment identifying which process is hazardous assessing, dose-response, human exposure, and characteristics of risk. With consideration of analytical methods, treatment technology, cost and regulatory impact, the MCL is set as close to the MCLG as possible. In this way, determination of the concentration and national distribution of contaminants is important for assessment of environmental quality The analytical sciences pose potential problems in assessing environmental quality. Continuing improvement in the performance of analytical instruments and operating technique has been lowering the limits of detectability. Contaminant concentration below the detection limit has usually been reported as ND(Not-Detected) and this has often been misunderstood as equivalent to zero. Because of this, more the contaminant concentration in the past was below the detection limit, whereas contaminants can be quantified now even though the contaminant concentration might remain the same or may even have decreased. In addition, environmental sampling has various components due to heterogeneous matrices. These samples are used to overestimate the concentration of the contaminant due to large variability, resulting in excess readings for MCL. In this paper, the significance of the analytical sciences is emphasized in both a conceptual and a technical approach to environmental assessment.

Virtual Environment Building and Navigation of Mobile Robot using Command Fusion and Fuzzy Inference

  • This paper propose a fuzzy inference model for map building and navigation for a mobile robot with an active camera, which is intelligently navigating to the goal location in unknown environments using sensor fusion, based on situational command using an active camera sensor. Active cameras provide a mobile robot with the capability to estimate and track feature images over a hallway field of view. In this paper, instead of using "physical sensor fusion" method which generates the trajectory of a robot based upon the environment model and sensory data. Command fusion method is used to govern the robot navigation. The navigation strategy is based on the combination of fuzzy rules tuned for both goal-approach and obstacle-avoidance. To identify the environments, a command fusion technique is introduced, where the sensory data of active camera sensor for navigation experiments are fused into the identification process. Navigation performance improves on that achieved using fuzzy inference alone and shows significant advantages over command fusion techniques. Experimental evidences are provided, demonstrating that the proposed method can be reliably used over a wide range of relative positions between the active camera and the feature images.

  • 본 논문은 컨테이너 운송을 위한 AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle) 배차 전략을 대상으로 한다. AGV 배차 문제는 안벽 크레인의 대기 시간과 AGV의 주행 거리를 최소화하도록 AGV에 작업을 할당하는 것이 목표이다. 터미널 환경의 동적인 특성으로 인해 계획 결과의 정확한 예측이 어렵고 수정이 빈번하기 때문에 실무에서는 의사결정 시간이 짧은 단순 규칙 기반 배차가 많이 쓰인다. 그러나 단순 규칙 기반 배차는 근시안적 특성으로 인해 배차의 다양한 성능 지표를 만족시키지 못하는 한계가 있으며 이를 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 복수 규칙 기반의 배차 전략을 제안한다. 복수 휴리스틱 기반 배차 전략은 여러 규칙의 가중합으로 구성되며 규칙 사이의 가중치를 최적화하기 위해 다목적 진화 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 시뮬레이션 실험을 통해 제안 방안이 기존 단일 규칙 기반 배차에 비해 더 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

미러 형상인자가 바람소리에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Impacts of Mirror Design Parameters on the Wind Noise)

  • The goal of this paper is to develop a standard side mirror geometry that will perform well across multiple vehicles. One of the important performance attributes of a side mirror is the amount of wind noise generated under the flow conditions on a car. PowerFLOW can be used for Computer Aided Testing of the aeroacoustics performance of a design in addition to directing design modifications based on a detailed analysis of the flow structures responsible for the noise generation. Alternatively, a Design of Experiment (DOE) approach is useful to explore the design space without any a-priori assumptions of the effects of design parameter changes. Some general design guidelines regarding the significant mirror geometry factors will be determined which may help to reduce vehicle development time and cost in the future. The results of this research will also allow us to estimate the trade-off between cost saving and performance optimum related to using a standard mirror shape for different vehicles.
