  • In this paper, we investigate the relation between Bayes factor and likelihood ratio test (LRT) approaches and apply the neighborhood information of Bayes factor to building an alternate hypothesis model of the LRT system. To consider the neighborhood approaches, we contemplate a distance measure between models and algorithms to be applied. We also evaluate several methods to improve performance of utterance verification using neighborhood information. Among these methods, the system which adopts anti-models built by collecting mixtures of neighborhood models obtains maximum error rate reduction of 17% compared to the baseline, linear and weighted combination of neighborhood models.

  • As the Internet traffic increases, the demand for higher performance routers continues to grow, and it makes switch chips more complex. To make matters worse, these chips also need to handle high-level services. In this paper, we introduce an efficient verification methodology that can support real network traffics to satisfy the verification requirement of real complex situation even at the early design phase of switch chips.

  • This paper presents a real-time verification system by extracting a features of multimodal biometrics using hybrid method, which is combined the moment balance and the independent component analysis(ICA). The moment balance is applied to reduce the computation loads by extracting the validity signal due to exclude the needless backgrounds of multimodal biometrics. ICA is also applied to increase the verification performance by removing the overlapping signals due to extract the statistically independent basis of signals. Multimodal biometrics are used both the faces and the fingerprints which are acquired by Web camera and acquisition device, respectively. The proposed system has been applied to the fusion problems of 48 faces and 48 fingerprints(24 persons * 2 scenes) of 320*240 pixels, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed system has a superior verification performances(speed, rate).

  • Digital contents such as image need both secure proving and publicly verification scheme on embedded digital watermark for contents distribution and copyright protection. Specially, we must provide publicly verification mechanism on digital watermark without revealing any of the secret information hidden on digital contents. In this paper, we review on the existing zero knowledge proofs and digital watermarking system, and propose advanced interactive zero knowledge proofs mechanism for enhancing the performance and security of watermark verification process. And it Provides a new watermark verification scheme without revealing any secret on the contents owner's copyright in formation.

  • The Joint Bayesian (JB) method has been used in most state-of-the-art methods for face verification. However, since the publication of the original JB method in 2012, no improved verification method has been proposed. A lot of studies on face verification have been focused on extracting good features to improve the performance in the challenging Labeled Faces in the Wild (LFW) database. In this paper, we propose an improved version of the JB method, called the two-dimensional Joint Bayesian (2D-JB) method. It is very simple but effective in both the training and test phases. We separated two symmetric terms from the three terms of the JB log likelihood ratio function. Using the two terms as a two-dimensional vector, we learned a decision line to classify same and not-same cases. Our experimental results show that the proposed 2D-JB method significantly outperforms the original JB method by more than 1% in the LFW database.

  • It is well known that when there is an acoustic mismatch between the speech obtained during training and testing, the accuracy of speaker verification systems drastically deteriorates. This paper presents the use of MFCCs' histogram enhancement technique in order to improve the robustness of a speaker verification system. The technique transforms the features extracted from speech within an utterance such that their statistics conform to reference distributions. The reference distributions proposed in this paper are uniform distribution and beta distribution. The transformation modifies the contrast of MFCCs' histogram so that the performance of a speaker verification system is improved both in the clean training and testing environment and in the clean training and noisy testing environment.

  • In parametric approach to a signature verification, it generally uses so many redundant features unsuitable for each individual signature that it causes harm, instead. This paper proposes a method of determining personalized weights of a feature set in signature verification with parametric approach by identifying the characteristics of each feature. For an individual signature, we define a degree of how difficult it is for any other person to forge the one's (called 'DFD' as the Degree of Forgery Difficulty). According to the statistical characteristics and the intuitional characteristics of each feature, the standard features are classified into four types. Four types of DFD functions are defined and applied into the distance calculation as a personalized weight factor. Using this method, the error rate of signature verification is reduced and the variation of the performance is less sensitive to the changes of decision threshold.

  • This paper concerns robust and reliable speaker model training for text-independent speaker verification. The baseline speaker modeling approach is the Gaussian mixture model (GMM). In text-independent speaker verification, the amount of speech data may be different for speakers. However, we still wish the modeling approach to perform equally well for all speakers. Besides, the modeling technique must be least vulnerable against unseen data. A traditional approach for GMM training is expectation maximization (EM) method, which is known for its overfitting problem and its weakness in handling insufficient training data. To tackle these problems, variational approximation is proposed. Variational approaches are known to be robust against overtraining and data insufficiency. We evaluated the proposed approach on two different databases, namely KING and TFarsdat. The experiments show that the proposed approach improves the performance on TFarsdat and KING databases by 0.56% and 4.81%, respectively. Also, the experiments show that the variationally optimized GMM is more robust against noise and the verification error rate in noisy environments for TFarsdat dataset decreases by 1.52%.

  • Systems engineering requirement verification model developmetn for High Speed Railway systems in progress is a national large system development program that is not only large-size and complex but also multi-disciplinary in nature. For the High Speed Railway TEP development, verification requirements that could verify system function, performance, and constraint, should be derived from SSS(system Segment specification). Hereafter, this could be referred to as verification requirements. System engineering process establishes traceability between verification requirements and system requirements. These tasks could be accomplished by the schema. using computer-aided Systems Engineering tool(CORE), High Speed Railway program can become a database and other system related to High Speed Railway program will be developed effectively and efficiently.
