The performance of scientific researchers has been studied from a number of different aspects, mostly in developed countries. This paper attempted to identify salient factors influencing scientific performance at individual level in a developing country. A model describing the productivity and performance of scientific researchers was developed. Four hypotheses were derived from the model; i) the degree of diversity of a researcher will affect the degree of his scientific performance, ii) the degree of dedication will affect the degree of his performance, iii) the degree of research pressure will affect the degree of his performance, and iv) the degree of satisfaction will affect the degree of his performance. Data were collected through questionnaires responded by 48 researchers from two research organizations. The results of data analysis supported the hypotheses in part. Specifically, diversity measured by the number of research areas was related to the productivity of research reports (p<0.05); research pressure influenced the average number of research papers (p<0.05). The results of hypothesis testing of the satisfaction showed mixed directions according to the indicators. Even though the results of data analysis did not support the hypotheses unanimously, probably due to the limitation of sample size, most of the descriptive analysis indicated that the direction of hypotheses in developed countries seemed to be similar in developing country too. However, more research efforts are needed to verify the research findings of developed countries in developing countries.

Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) has received extensive attention as it is the most common hydrogen energy utilization device. This research not only investigated the effect of obstacle number and shape on PEMFC performance, but also studied the effect of the blockage degree in the channel of PEMFC on its performance. It was found that compared with traditional scheme, longitudinally distributed obstacles scheme can significantly promote reactants transfer to catalyst layer, and the blockage degree in the channel effect PEMFC performance most. The scheme with 10 rectangular obstacles in single channel and 60% channel blockage had the best output performance and the most uniform distribution of reactants and products. Obstacle height distribution can significantly affect PEMFC performance, the blockage degree in the whole basin was large, particularly as the channel was blocked to higher degree in region 2 and region 3, higher net power density and better mass transfer effect can be obtained. Among them, the fuel cell with the blockage degree of 40%, 60% and 60% in region 1, region 2 and region 3 have the best PEMFC output performance and mass transfer, the net power density was 29.8% higher than that of traditional scheme.

The study investigates the association between CEO education and firm performance with a sample of 85 nonfinancial firms listed on the Saudi stock exchange during 2018 applying ordinary least squares method. CEO education is defined by three variables, the level of education, if the degree-granting institution is domestic or foreign, and if the highest degree is in management or other fields of study. Financial performance is measured by return on assets and return on equity. Firm size, age, liquidity and growth are introduced as control variables. The study shows that 58 CEOs of the firms studied are graduates, 38 have obtained their degree from a domestic institution and 44 have a management degree. Graduate CEOs are found to enhance performance. Graduating from a domestic institution influences performance positively. Management degree of CEO does not seem to impact performance. Firm size, liquidity and growth are positively associated with performance. Firm age does not explain performance differences of firms. Results are robust to performance measures. The findings of the study suggest that firms can benefit from a CEO hiring policy that emphasizes on the minimum qualification set as graduation or higher, education from a domestic institution and no undue weight on management qualification.
The purpose of this study is to research the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care for postpartal women and to provide the basic data for improvement of service in a postpartum care center. The respondents of this study were 100 women of 6 postpartum care centers within a C province from Oct. 20 to Dec. 10, 2000. The instruments of measure were used for collecting data on the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care developed by the researcher. Data analysis consisted of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, paired t-test, t-test, ANOVA which are calculated by Scheffe test and Cronbach's alpha which is used as a reliance level by using a SPSS-PC+. The results of the study were as follows:1. The average score for the degree of recognition of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) for postpartal women was $3.09{\pm}.31$, and they recognized that it was important. The methods which were ranked were as follows; Protecting the body from a harmful state, invigorating the body by the argumentation of heat and avoidance of cold, handling with whole heart, and keeping clean, resting without working, eating well. 2. The average score for the degree of performance of traditional postpartal care (Sanhujori) for postpartal women was $2.81{\pm}.31$, and they performed that it was important, too. The methods which were ranked were as follows; Protecting the body from a harmful state, invigorating the body by the augumentation of heat and avoidance of cold, eating well, handling with whole heart, and keeping clean, resting without working. 3. There were significant differences statistically (paired-t=-8.39, p=.000) of the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) for the postpartal women. The degree of recognition was higher than the degree of performance. So, the recognition of traditional postpartal care (Sanhujori) was higher than the performance of it. 4. There were no statistical differences of the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) among the postpartal women's age, religion, job, educational background, delivery frequency, delivery method or the sex of baby. So, the Characteristics of the respondents were not influenced as far as the degree of recognition & performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori). 5. There were significant differences statistically of the degree of performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) among the 5 postpartum care centers except 1 postpartum care center(p<.01). So, the recognition of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) was higher than the performance of traditional postpartal care(Sanhujori) in the 5 postpartum care centers. But there was performed as good as recognition in only 1 postpartum care center.
Purpose: Infection management is important for physical therapists in order to protect patients and themselves since they often provide patient care and have physical contact with patients. This study examined the performance of infection control and associated factors among physical therapists. Methods: The study subjects were 174 physical therapists working in the G metropolitan city. The performance of infection control according to general characteristics, job-related characteristics, and infection-related characteristics were compared using t-test and ANOVA. Associations between awareness and performance of infection control were tested by correlation. Finally, multiple linear regression analyses were performed to examine the factors associated with performance of infection control. Results: Overall performance scores for personal and therapy room were $87.47{\pm}11.70$ and $70.08{\pm}13.68$, respectively. Both personal and therapy room infection control were lower for the degree of performance than the degree of awareness. In multiple linear regression analysis, the degree of performance at a personal level was related to current smoking status, type of charge therapy, supply of protection equipment, and awareness of personal infection control. The degree of performance of therapy room was related to injury experience in the workplace, supply of protection equipment, and awareness of therapy room infection control. Conclusion: Performance of therapy room infection control was lower than that of personal infection control. The performance was associated with the supply of protection equipment and awareness. Therefore, the degree of performance for infection control will be increased with proper supply of protection equipment in the hospital and increase the degree of awareness with adequate prevention education.
This paper investigate how transaction cost factors affect organizational performance both directly and indirectly, through cooperative relationship lasting factors and degree of relationship satisfaction. The results can be summarized as follows: First, asset uncertainty directly influenced financial and non-financial performance. Also asset specificity and opportunism did not influence financial and non financial performance directly. Second cooperative relationship lasting factors were connected with transaction cost factors direct variables on cooperative relationship lasting factors are asset specificity and uncertainty, but opportunism did not directly influence. Third, degree of relationship satisfaction were connected with transaction cost factors direct variables on degree of relationship satisfaction are asset specificity and opportunism, but uncertainty had not affected degree of relationship satisfaction. Fourth, cooperative relationship lasting factors and degree of relation satisfaction had affected financial performance and non financial performance. In summary, this study find that transaction cost factors had indirectly influenced organizational performance through mediated variables such as cooperative relationship lasting factors and degree of relationship satisfaction.

This study was to provide the basic data to raise the efficient practices that can reduce the Infection Prevention and Exposure by understanding the awareness, Performance degree of the Administrative Standard Guideline of Nosocomial Infection Control for Emergency Medical Technician students who are exposed to hospital infections while conducting clinical practice. After the study, the performance degree was lower than the awareness of the Performance degree of the Administrative Standard Guideline of Nosocomial Infection Control. And awareness and performance degree are have significant positive correlation, significant differences statistically(r=0.325, p=0.000). In the future, to improve the Performance degree of Nosocomial Infection Control for Emergency Medical Technician students, the continuing education programs and the curriculums should be performed in the practice agencies.
The goal of this paper is to estimate firm performance of hospital coordinators through a survey on employees of medical institutions placed in Busan and Ulsan. The survey for this paper is constituted by 34 questions of 4 groups related to firm performance, qualification requirement, general fact and a certificate of qualification. The survey was carried out from September 12th, 2008 to September 24th 2008 and 388 question sheets collected finally and used for result analysis. In the result analyses related to hospital coordinator and firm performance, we found some principal outcomes such that 88.6% of respondents approved that hospital image by patients and customers is raised, 87.7% of respondents approved that degree of patient's satisfaction on hospital services is raised, and 81.5% of respondents approved that employees recognized importance of services on customers, by hospital coordinators. In the result analysis on differences in firm performance by presence of a certificate of qualification for hospital coordinator, there were meaningful differences in degree of patient's satisfaction, financial performance and degree of employee's recognition on importance of services. From the all of the above results, we verified that establishment and improvement of educational process for hospital coordinator should be performed through researches on degree of patient's and costumer's satisfaction for hospital coordinator, degree of hospital coordinator's satisfaction for the job and surveys of requirements from related industry.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to clarify the causal relationship and correlation between audit quality and audit performance and to analyze theoretical discussions and actual facts in order to improve audit performance on public enterprise audit and to identify what factors contribute to management and to seek ways to secure business performance. Methods: In this study, theoretical consideration was conducted that concerned the definition of audit, the concept of internal audit, the audit quality and the audit performance after having considered advanced researches, related regulations, and literatures. Through the foundation of such theoretical consideration, the components of the audit quality were deducted and each component's impact on the audit performance was empirically proven. The collected data through the survey were analyzed using multi-regression analysis. The measurement tools used for this study were divided into three dimensions such as internal quality, interaction quality and environmental quality. Result: First remark, out of the various components of the audit quality, independence, professionalism, and empathy appear to positively impact the audit degree of satisfaction. However, the measure of sufficiency is shown to bear no correlation to the audit degree of satisfaction. Second, out of the various components of the audit quality, professionalism, sufficiency, and empathy appear to positively impact the audit degree of applicability. However, the measure of independence is shown to bear no correlation to the audit degree of applicability. Third, audit quality appears to positively impact the audit degree of satisfaction and applicability, and also the performance of management. Concusion: It appears that the audit quality positively impacts the audit degree of satisfaction, applicability and management performance indicated by the audit performance.

This paper presents the design of block lengths for irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes based on the maximum variable degree $d_{{\upsilon},max}$. To design a block length, the performance degradation of belief-propagation (BP) decoding performance from upper bounds on the maximum likelihood (ML) decoding performance is used as an important factor. Since for large block lengths, the performance of irregular LDPC codes is very close to the Shannon limit, we focus on moderate block lengths ($5{\times}10^2\;{\leq}\;N\;{\leq}\;4{\times}10^3$). Given degree distributions, the purpose of our paper is to find proper block lengths based on the maximum variable degree $d_{{\upsilon},max}$. We also present some simulation results which show how a block length can be optimized.
