  • A maritime Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) reference station broadcasts correction information to users having a DGPS receiver so that the navigation performance can be improved. A maritime DGPS reference station consists of a reference station (RS) that generates and broadcasts correction information, an integrity monitor (IM) that monitors the integrity of correction information, and a control station (CS) that controls them. A maritime DGPS reference station is continuously operated for 24 hours, and thus improvement in the ease of operation is a major element that can improve the performance of the system. In this study, a configuration of a maritime DGPS reference station that can improve the ease of operation and a relevant protocol were proposed, and an example of the implementation of the proposed system was presented.

  • In this paper, centralized access control and slot allocation algorithm is proposed for wireless networks. The proposed algorithm is characterized by the contention-based reservation. In order to reduce the collision probability of reservation request, the base station calculates and broadcasts the transmission probability of reservation requests, and the wireless terminal transmits its reservation request with the received transmission probability. The scheduler allocates the uplink data slots based on the successful reservation requests. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can provide high channel utilization, and furthermore, maintains constant delay performance in the heavy traffic environment.

  • This study aims to select representative performance art visualization projects that react to changes in the culture enjoyment methods and needs of contemporary performance art consumers for performance art culture value creation and vitalization that suit the Fourth Industry and a global age, verify new cultural value creation possibilities of performance projects, and look into important matters and keynotes of production processes. Focusing on the report 'NT Live-Digital broadcast of theatre Learning from the pilot season'(2011), a thorough analysis was conducted on the Royal National Theatre of England, a leading model of cinema broadcast performance visualization projects, including the purpose, production processes (copyright agreements, personnel compositions, filming and broadcasting), marketing methods, and audiences of its "NT Live" project and observations were made of production processes and cultural and artistic values that differ from existing performance art to examine administrative and financial keynotes for the sustainability of performance visualization projects. Through this, possibilities of source creations with artistic, cultural, and economic values that cinema broadcast (live performance broadcast) performance viewing methods have as a new form of performance art products can be verified. In addition, the development of various performance approaches that respond to the culture enjoyment methods and consumption patterns of audiences will result in the vitalization of performing arts visualization projects through the enhancement of popular appeal and the expansion of audience types of the performing arts field.

  • In this paper, we propose a spectrum sharing system that enable secondary user's spectrum access in cooperative communication scheme. At phase 1, a transmitter in primary system broadcasts signals to the rest nodes. And then, at phase 2, a transmitter in secondary system combines the decoded signals after received from a transmitter in primary system and its own signal. And then transmitter of secondary system broadcasts the combined signals to receivers of primary and secondary systems. At this time, due to the process of combining signals, receivers of primary and secondary systems experiences a performance degradation. Therefore, we propose a novel adaptive incremental decode-andforward(AIDF) protocol to overcome this problem. By using AIDF protocol, we show performance improvement of total system through various simulations.

  • We propose an adaptive cooperative scheme with a multi-relay node that achieves high bandwidth efficiency and achieves better SEP performance. In the proposed protocol, if the quality of the direct channel is better than that of the all channels from relays to destination, the source will transmit directly to the destination. Otherwise, the source broadcasts the signal and then a potential relay will be chosen to help the source. A re-transmission will also occur if the potential relay cannot be detected. The spectral efficiency is first derived by calculating the probability of each mode, i.e., direct and cooperation transmission. Subsequently, the SEP performance of M-PSK modulation for the scheme is analyzed by considering each event where the source transmits data to the destination. Finally, the obtained analytical results are verified through computer simulations.

  • This paper proposes a transmission probability control scheme for enhancing the performances of FSA-based RFID system. In order to maximize the system performance, the number of tags attempting to transmit their identifiers in a frame should be kept at a proper level. The reader calculates the transmission probability according to the number of tags within the identification range of reader and then broadcasts it to tags. Tags, in which their slot counter values reach to zero, attempt to transmit their identifiers with the received probability. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can offer better throughput and delay performance than the conventional one regardless of the number of tags.

  • This paper proposes a backoff control scheme for guaranteeing fair packet transmissions in TDMA wireless networks. In order to maximize the system performance, the number of packets transmitted in a frame should be kept at a proper level. In the proposed scheme, the base station calculates the packet transmission probability according to the offered loads and then broadcasts to all the mobile stations. Mobile stations attempt to transmit a packet with the received probability. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can offer better system throughput and delay performance than the conventional one regardless of the offered loads.

  • With the advent of the ubiquitous technology age, the progress of network technology has enabled a robust sensor communication, not just in cities, but also in poor surroundings such as deserts, polar regions, or underwater environments. In this paper, we propose a Multiple Acknowledgement (MA) technique to replace the conventional Automatic Repeat request (ARQ) technique. The MA mechanism is to send an Ack to many receivers simultaneously. The CH (master, coordinator) of the unit cluster broadcasts a Beacon frame where Ack information of the previously transmitted data is included. This technique can reduce the number of transmissions and overhead significantly. The proposed technique is a scheme improving the efficiency of an underwater sensor network where the uplink data transmission is the mainstream. The Performance of the ARQ, Block Ack, Pervasive Block Ack and the proposed method were compared with one another and analyzed. The proposed method showed significant performance improvement as compared with the ARQ, BA, and PBA in its channel efficiency.

  • In this paper, there are m servers to carry out broadcasts and the scheduling problem to serve the requests with deadlines is studied. If a server broadcasts a page, then all the requests which require the page are satisfied. A scheduling algorithm shall determine which pages are broadcasted on servers at a time. Its goal is to maximize the sum of weights of requests satisfied within their deadlines. The performance of an on-line algorithm is compared with that of the optimal off-line algorithm which can see all the inputs in advance. In general, the off-line algorithms outperform the on-line algorithms. So we will use the resource augmentation analysis in which the on-line algorithms can utilize more resources. We consider the case that the on-line algorithms can use more servers in this paper.

  • In this paper, we propose the scheduling scheme of IEEE802.15.4e TSCH which is not specified in standard specification. The proposed scheme schedules the link by cooperating among the devices. A new device scans EBs(Enhanced Beacons) from network. An advertiser device broadcasts an enhanced beacon frame including links information on allocated channel offset and time-slots, and a new device can determine its own channel offset and time-slot. It's performance on maximum throughput and minimum delay is evaluated by comparing the proposed approach with a typical single channel IEEE802.15.4.
