Methods: A quantitative descriptive survey using a questionnaire was carried out to the nurses, who had a minimum of 6 months experience in the ED. This study was conducted at 7 hospitals in the Republic of Korea. Results: A total of 124 nurses were enrolled. As to the Awareness of the forensic nursing role, all the core data obtained an average of 3.39 points out of 4 points, and the documentation category was the highest score of 3.57. For the performance of the forensic nursing role, all the core data obtained an average of 2.50 points out of 4 points, and a documentation category acquired the highest score of 2.91. There is a significant correlation of (r=.452, p<.001) the awareness and performance of the forensic nursing role. Conclusion: Currently, the awareness regarding the forensic nursing role is low level. Therefore, the performance of forensic nursing role has also become low level. Consequently, forensic nursing education is essential for ED nurses to preserve evidence accurately.

The survey tool was a Likert 5-point scale self-filled questionnaire that examined general characteristics, hand washing awareness and performance. The general characteristics of the subjects were calculated by frequency analysis, and one-way ANOVA, awareness and performance were analyzed by Pearson's correlation. There was a significant difference in the awareness of hand washing in some health-related college students in the presence or absence of infection education and in all areas except gender. According to the characteristics of the health department, the awareness and performance of hand washing showed a significant difference in the order of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nursing. Data were collected using a structured questionnaires and analyzed with t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: Perceived health status, ethical awareness and attitude toward performance of infection control guidelines about major commitment were significant predictive variables. These variables accounted for 48.1% of the variance in major commitment. Conclusion: The findings indicate the necessity of developing educational programs to enhance nursing students's ethical awareness, and increase performance of control guidelines to prepare for the pandemic infectious diseases.

This study analyzed the awareness and performance of physical therapists' infection control using IPA. The four areas were divided into handwashing, personal management, Treatment room environment management, and infection control education, and a survey was conducted on awareness and practice. General characteristics were analyzed for frequency, and recognition and performance were analyzed through paired t-test and Pearson's correlation. Handwashing was both high and infection, control education had high performance, but low awareness. The performance of Treatment room environment was high, but the awareness was low, and personal management was both low. Therefore, based on this study, there is a need for a strategy to improve the awareness of infection control education, a strategy to improve performance in the treatment room environment, and a strategy to improve both performance and awareness in Personal management.

Purpose: This study was to explore the gap between awareness and performance toward evidence-based pain management in older adults for the purpose of establishing baseline data for evidence-based pain management protocol development and dissemination. Methods: The subjects were 290 staff nurses from three general hospitals. Self administered questionnaires were used to collect the data and the results of the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation. Results: There were statistically significant differences between awareness and performance in pain assessment (t=17.31, $p$ <.001), patient and family education (t=17.33, $p$ <.001), pharmacologic management (t=12.99, $p$ <.001), non pharmacological management (t=16.28, p<.001), and evaluation of effectiveness (t=11.70, $p$ <.001). There were also statistically significant differences in awareness and performance according to the workplace, knowledge, and usual performance. Conclusion: The study showed that the hospital nurses' performance about evidence-based pain management in older adults was lower than their awareness level thus indicating significant gaps between evidence and actual practice. To ensure effective pain care, the factors contributing to these gaps need to be analyzed to identify the barriers. In addition, the evidence-based pain management guideline suitable for various clinical settings needs to be developed and disseminated.
This study identified the actual conditions for safe anticancer drug management among nurses and the relationship between level of awareness and performance of anticancer drug safety regulations in terms of preparation, administration, and disposal. The respondents were 236 nurses working with chemotherapy in wards and outpatient clinics in five hospitals in and near Seoul. Safety regulations provided for the anticancer drug the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA, 1999), as modified for an earlier study, were used. The results showed that the level of awareness and performance on the anticancer drug safety regulations indicate their preparation ($3.38{\pm}0.55$, $2.38{\pm}0.98$), administration ($3.52{\pm}0.46$, $3.17{\pm}0.70$), general handling and disposal ($3.33{\pm}0.54$, $2.42{\pm}0.90$) on a scale 0 to 5. Also, there were significant differences in job positions, work experience, type of preparation, and continuing education and a positive relationship between the level of awareness and nursing performance. Thus, nurses should receive continuing education on the handling of anticancer drugs to improve the level of performance following safety regulations.

In all sub-areas of the control, the higher the awareness was, the higher the performance was, but the latter was relatively lower than the former. Factors that were having statistically significant effects on that awareness included the necessity of infection control education, participation or non-participation in infection prevention education and recognition or non-recognition of patients' disease state. And factors that were having statistically significant influences on that performance included participation or non-participation in infection prevention education, recognition or non-recognition of patients' disease state and the foresaid awareness itself.
