Due to recent expansion of online market such as clothing, utilizing customer review has become a major marketing measure. User review has been used as a tool of analyzing sentiment of customers. Sentiment analysis can be largely classified with machine learning-based and lexicon-based method. Machine learning-based method is a learning classification model referring review and labels. As research of sentiment analysis has been developed, multi-modal models learned by images and video data in reviews has been studied. Characteristics of words in reviews are differentiated depending on products' and customers' categories. In this paper, sentiment is analyzed via considering review data and metadata of products and users. Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Self Attention-based Multi-head Attention models and Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformer (BERT) are used in this study. Same Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) model is used upon every products information. This paper suggests a multi-modal sentiment analysis model that simultaneously considers user reviews and product meta-information.
Network intrusion detection system based on machine learning method such as artificial neural network is quite dependent on the selected features in terms of accuracy and efficiency. Nevertheless, choosing the optimal combination of features, which guarantees accuracy and efficienty, from generally used many features to detect network intrusion requires extensive computing resources. In this paper, we deal with a optimal feature selection problem to determine 6 denial service attacks and normal usage provided by NSL-KDD data. We propose a optimal feature selection algorithm. Proposed algorithm is based on the multi-start local search algorithm, one of representative meta-heuristic algorithm for solving optimization problem. In order to evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithm, comparison with a case of all 41 features used against NSL-KDD data is conducted. In addtion, comparisons between 3 well-known machine learning methods (multi-layer perceptron., Bayes classifier, and Support vector machine) are performed to find a machine learning method which shows the best performance combined with the proposed feature selection method.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm that shortens the learning time by performing individual learning using partitioning the deep learning structure. The proposed algorithm consists of four processes: network classification origin setting process, feature vector extraction process, feature noise removal process, and class classification process. First, in the process of setting the network classification starting point, the division starting point of the network structure for effective feature vector extraction is set. Second, in the feature vector extraction process, feature vectors are extracted without additional learning using the weights previously learned. Third, in the feature noise removal process, the extracted feature vector is received and the output value of each class is learned to remove noise from the data. Fourth, in the class classification process, the noise-removed feature vector is input to the multi-layer perceptron structure, and the result is output and learned. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we experimented with the Extended Yale B face database. As a result of the experiment, in the case of the time required for one-time learning, the proposed algorithm reduced 40.7% based on the existing algorithm. In addition, the number of learning up to the target recognition rate was shortened compared with the existing algorithm. Through the experimental results, it was confirmed that the one-time learning time and the total learning time were reduced and improved over the existing algorithm.
A hybrid model which uses a probabilistic model and a MLP(multi layer perceptron) model for pattern recognition of EMG(electromyogram) signals is proposed in this paper. MLP model has problems which do not guarantee global minima of error due to learning method and have different approximation grade to bayesian probabilities due to different amounts and quality of training data, the number of hidden layers and hidden nodes, etc. Especially in the case of new test data which exclude design samples, the latter problem produces quite different results. The error probability of probabilistic model is closely related to the estimation error of the parameters used in the model and fidelity of assumtion. Generally, it is impossible to introduce the bayesian classifier to the probabilistic model of EMG signals because of unknown priori probabilities and is estimated by MLE(maximum likelihood estimate). In this paper we propose the method which get the MAP(maximum a posteriori probability) in the probabilistic model by estimating the priori probability distribution which minimize the error probability using the MLP. This method minimize the error probability of the probabilistic model as long as the realization of the MLP is optimal and approximate the minimum of error probability of each class of both models selectively. Alocating the reference coordinate of EMG signal to the outside of the body make it easy to suit to the applications which it is difficult to define and seperate using internal body coordinate. Simulation results show the benefit of the proposed model compared to use the MLP and the probabilistic model seperately.

In the area of the speech recognition processing, background noises are caused the incorrect response to the speech input, therefore the speech recognition rates are decreased by the background noises. Accordingly, a more high level noise processing techniques are required since these kinds of noise countermeasures are not simple. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm to distinguish between the stationary background noises or non-stationary background noises and the speech signal having short time duration in the noisy environments. The proposed algorithm uses the characteristic parameter of the improved speech signal as an important measure in order to distinguish different types of the background noises and the speech signals. Next, this algorithm estimates various kinds of the background noises using a multi-layer perceptron neural network. In this experiment, it was experimentally clear the estimation of the background noises and the speech signals.

Recently, the development of a vision inspection system using machine learning has become more active. This study seeks to develop a defect inspection model using machine learning. Defect detection problems for images correspond to classification problems, which are the method of supervised learning in machine learning. In this study, defect detection models are developed based on algorithms that automatically extract features and algorithms that do not extract features. One-dimensional CNN and two-dimensional CNN are used as algorithms for automatic extraction of features, and MLP and SVM are used as algorithms for non-extracting features. A defect detection model is developed based on four models and their accuracy and AUC compare based on AUC. Although image classification is common in the development of models using CNN, high accuracy and AUC is achieved when developing SVM models by converting pixels from images into RGB values in this study.
Accurate forecasting enables to effectively prepare for future phenomenon. Especially, meteorological phenomenon is closely related with human life, and it can prevent from damage such as human life and property through forecasting of weather and disaster that can occur. To respond quickly and effectively to oil spill accidents, it is important to accurately predict the movement of oil spills and the weather in the surrounding waters. In this paper, we selected four representative machine learning techniques: support vector machine, Gaussian process, multilayer perceptron, and radial basis function network that have shown good performance and predictability in the previous studies related to oil spill detection and prediction in meteorology such as wind, rainfall and ozone. we suggest the applicability of oil spill prediction model based on machine learning.

In this paper, we study the classification of steam generator tube defects using an improved feature extraction. We consider 4 axisymmetric defect patterns of tube: I-In type, I-Out type, V-In type, and V-Out type. Through numerical analysis program based on finite element modeling, 400 ECT signals are generated by varying width and depth of each defect type. From those generated ECT signals, we propose new feature vectors that include an angle between the two points where the Maximum impedance and half the Maximum impedance, and angles between Maximum impedance point and 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% of Maximum impedance points. Also, multi-layer perceptron with one hidden layer is used to classify the defect patterns. Through the computer simulation study, it is shown that the proposed method achieves an improved defect classification performance in terms of Maximum Error and mean square Error.
Generally, treated water or raw water is transported into storage reservoirs which are receiving facilities of local governments from multi-regional water supply systems. A water supply control and operation center is operated not only to manage the water facilities more economically and efficiently but also to mitigate the shortage of water resources due to the increase in water consumption. To achieve the goal, important information such as the flow-rate in the systems, water levels of storage reservoirs or tanks, and pump-operation schedule should be considered based on the resonable water demand forecasting. However, it is difficult to acquire the pattern of water demand used in local government, since the operating information is not shared between multi-regional and local water systems. The pattern of water demand is irregular and unpredictable. Also, additional changes such as an abrupt accident and frequent changes of electric power rates could occur. Consequently, it is not easy to forecast accurate water demands. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a short-term water demands forecasting and to develop an application of the forecasting models. In this study, the forecasting simulator for water demand is developed based on mathematical and neural network methods as linear and non-linear models to implement the optimal water demands forecasting. It is shown that MLP(Multi-Layered Perceptron) and ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) can be applied to obtain better forecasting results in multi-regional water supply systems with a large scale and local water supply systems with small or medium scale than conventional methods, respectively.
