To identify the motives for voluntary childlessness and social perceptions, a qualitative research method was used for analysis. After in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 childless couples who had agreed to participate in the research, 15 meaning units, 5 categories, and 3 topics were established. The research findings were categorized as follows: 'the motives for being childless', 'the surrounding response and coping response', and 'the expectation of a childless family's society.' The research participants argued that families without children should be fully accepted in the changing society, with the hope that their childlessness would be respected. The significance of this study is that it focused on the perceptions of families and society, while steering away from personal views on the meaning of a life absent of children. Based on the perception that childlessness is not only a personal matter but also a social issue, this study clearly showed a variety of reactions to childless couples, such as the labeling of them as eccentric people and disapproval of them. Furthermore, this study has elaborated on the personal experience of childless couples by clearly indicating their desires to seek government support and compensation.

  • Recently, with the diffusion of a new paradigm named as the creative economy, the government's interests and efforts regarding support of SMEs' R&D have been concentrated. In particular, due to the dominant perception that the fundamental science and original technology from government-funded research institutes can further enhance the capabilities of SMEs' R&D, the importance of performance's diffusion on national R&D is further emphasized. In fact, the domestic SMEs don't have enough budget and workforce, so that all of self-contained technologies, product's competitiveness as well as the R&D capabilities, are very vulnerable, and thereby SMEs' commercialization is very likely to fail. For this end, SMEs need to adopt the concept of open innovation as the use of external R&D resources by licensing. In this study, we conducted a survey on a total of 286 domestic IT SMEs, and analyzed empirically to compare the degree of their acceptance on technological innovation between two groups divided by open/not-open innovation. As a result, we drew some of the key factors influencing the acceptance of the SMEs' open technological innovation, and found a variety of implications through them.

  • This paper conducted a study on the operation plan of the packaging system to enhance the logistics efficiency between the manufacturer and the distributor, whose prior research in the relevant field was insignificant. By identifying problems and improvements in the operation of the packaging system between domestic manufacturers and distributors through the Retail Ready Packaging. The institutional aspects were investigated to confirm that the mediation role of government and social organizations was required to resolve issues (χ2 = 148.916, p < 0.001), and that guidelines that gathered diverse opinions for the rational operation of the packaging system were essential, while institutional aspects are needed to be supplemented to be willing to improve logistics efficiency (χ2 = 95.781, p < 0.001). In this study, even though the difference in perception between manufacturers and distributors is clear and the issue related to the operation of the packaging system is ongoing, if there is no effort to grasp the issue, the opinions between manufacturers and distributors will be left at odds and could become a social problem. Unnecessary interference from government and social organizations should be excluded, but the level of mediation to support win-win management in order to promote logistics standardization and reduce CO2 and national logistics costs can be explained as a catalyst for improving logistics efficiency through reasonable operation of the packaging system.

  • This study confirmed the perceptions of performing arts field workers and related experts under the theme of non-face-to-face performing arts. As a result of the analysis, first, respondents agreed with the practical need for non-face-to-face performing arts, but respondents in the field viewed the lack of "fieldability" and "communication with the audience" of non-face-to-face performances as a problem. Second, respondents who participated in non-face-to-face performance production had negative perceptions of realism, immersion, interaction with the audience, lack of enjoyment outside the performance, and difficulties in securing budgets, filming and editing, and actors' acting commitment. Third, regarding the government's non-face-to-face performing arts-related support policy, they complained that support was only given to specific organizations and a small number of people, and administrative difficulties in support. Through this study, it can be suggested that face-to-face and non-face-to-face performance arts should be treated in a complementary and balanced relationship in terms of government policy.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest new direction for domiciliary care for elders provided by public institutions in rural areas. Method: The participants in the study were elders using one of 11 public health care institutions, of which 8 operated day care services exclusively, and 3 operated both day care and short-term respite care services. A survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire that included items on general characteristics of the service users, conditions of the services, personnel, financial status, facilities, and perception of the tasks of the staff. Result: The service content of the day care centers included Western and Chinese medical service, physical services, activities of ADL, nursing care services, meal services and transportation services. Domiciliary care centers provided a wide variety of health and social welfare service for elders. Personnel consisted of 3 to 8 staff for day care centers and 7 to 10 for domiciliary care centers. Both types of centers rely on financial support from local government for operation. The perception of the staff was the need for operation of these centers by public health facilities such as public health centers and sub-centers. Conclusion: The result suggest a need to activate the function of public institutions to provide domiciliary care for elders. For this new change, the role as a social support system must be developed.
