In light of the problem of imported apparel that tends to increase rapidly this study was intended to inquire into the assessment of male and female college students about the brands of imported apparel relative to dom-estic apparel based on quality perception price pirceptionand social psychological perception. And it is concerned with making a compara-tive study of the difference in consumer's con-sciousness of clothing between subjects by dividing them into the group of preference for imported apparel the group of non-preference for it on the basis of their ratings. As a consequence the following study results were obtained. 1) As a result of comparing college students' ratings for quality perception price perception and social psychological perception of impor-ted apparel all three factors were shown to have the high average value in care of the group of preference for imported apparel and to have a significant difference between groups. 2) As a consequence of making a compara-tive study of the difference in the clothing at-titude between groups the group of prefer-ence for imported apparel showed the high av-erage value about brand preference and identi-fication clothing involvement and interper-sonal perception through clothing and to hjave a significant difference with the group of pref-erence for imported apparel in terms of the peripheral environment and the place of pur-chase. 3) As a result of making a comparison of the difference in demographic factors between groups it was analyzed that female clollege students especially college women in the departments of art and physical education had the higher preference for imported apparel. And it was shown that they had the higher preference for imported apparel the greater amount of pocket money they had. Broader and deeper studies are required to be made about imported apparel in a multifaceted way. Therefore follow-on studies will have to be actively conducted such as a study of con-sumer's evaluation about imported apparel and domestic apparel charged at th same range of prices and a study of the difference on con-sumer's consciousness of imported apparel found over age span of consumers.
Discussions on sustainability in the fashion industry highlight the need for a holistic and strategic approach. This study investigated consumers' perception of fashion companies' sustainability and its relationship with value and perceived consumer effectiveness as well as with consumer trust, preference, and purchase intention. The assessment scale of fashion companies' sustainability was developed for this study and data were obtained from 645 consumers in their 20's to 60's in Korea. As a result, consumers' value and perceived consumer effectiveness had significant effects on consumers' perception of fashion companies' sustainability. Universalism, security/benevolence and perceived consumer effectiveness were variables that had significant effects on all four dimensions of sustainability. Consumer's perception of fashion companies' sustainability significantly influenced consumer trust, preference and purchase intention. Especially, environmental, societal, and cultural sustainability (rather than economic dimension) were shown to have a greater impact on consumers' trust, preference and purchase intention.
This study was conducted to investigate housewives' perception, interest and consumption of health drinks made in a health food stores, and to assess the relationsh- ip between nutritionally-related-variables and the consumption of health drinks. Data was collected from 518 housewives in Chonnam province. Among many items which housewives perceived about health drinks, three factors of 'preference·health-care', ' quality·convenience' and 'price' were found to be represented. Housewives' perception of 'preference·health-care' was negatively correlated with nutritional knowledge. However, a positive correlation between the 'quality·convenience' and eating habits was found. Consumption of health drinks was positively correlated with the diet management score, the perception and interest in health drinks. However, the inverse relationship between consumption of health drinks and nutritional knowledge was observed. Multiple regression analysis showed that the interest and factors of perception of health drinks. Consumption of health drinks was not based upon accurate knowledge concerning nutrition, but was based upon the consumers' perception of taste preference and healthful quality. Therefore, there is a need to educate consumers about the nutritional value of health drinks and how to use nutritional supplements.
The purpose of this study was to have a proper understanding and a concern about native local food in Jecheon area. The data was obtained by use of questionnaires to residents in Jecheon and statistical analysis was performed The results were as follows: 1. Deodeokgui got the highest score in perception, preference, and possibility of development as a native local food in Jecheon. 2. Hyangeobaeksuk and Memiljeonbyung are significantly different in perception by gender. Perception scores of native local food were not significantly different by increase of age and resident period The perception scores of Dotorichaemuk and Minmulbibimhoe by nuclear family member were significantly high compared with that by extended family members. The perception score of Deodeokgui increased as the monthly income increased 3. Female subjects liked Gondeurebap and Memiljeonbyung whereas male ones liked Hyangeobaeksuk and Minmulbibimhoe. Preferences of Torimyun, Dotorichaemuk, Kongtang, Hyangeobaeksuk, Chikyori, Gobonju Seungumchotteok were increased as the age increased 4. According to this study, modernization was required for development of native local food.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and preference of 'Jook' among people to find the effective way of promoting consumption of Korean traditional 'Jook'. This survey was conducted in Seoul, Suwon, Pyongtaek area. Among 450 questionnaires, 363 responses were collected and were analyzed by SAS program. The results were as follows: 47% was male,33.1% were 20 to 29 years old and 45% were students. Age and sex were main factors influencing the perception and preference of 'Jook' Older generation and women liked 'Jook' the most. 'Potjook', 'Hobakjook', 'Dakjook', 'Hinjook' were mostly preferred in order. 'Jook' was eaten because of 'easy to digest', 'special treat', 'convenience food', and 'therapeutic purpose'. But taste was the most preferred characteristics selecting 'Jook' except 'Hinjook'. In developing 'Jook' to be consumed, diversity and convenience should be placed in the first priority.
This study investigated the difference of reference price, preference and quality perception of high functional underwear according to innovation cues. High functional underwear was selected as a research stimulus due to its technological innovative characteristics. A total of 93 male university students participated as subjects and data were collected by simple random experimental design operationalized with three types of innovation stimulus cues. Two types of internal reference price perception-expected price and fair price, preference, and 9 items of product quality perception-8 functional properties and overall quality of stimulus were measured with a questionnaire. The result supported the difference of reference price and quality perception by product innovation cue. The higher cue level group perceived two types of reference price and the overall quality higher than the lower cue level group. The difference of the expected price and fair price, the influence of functional properties on overall quality, and relations of the variables were discussed in depth.
This study aims to examine what consumers perceive about affection and control in association with personified brands, and to explore what effects such perception has on consumer behavior. The research methodology employed a questionnaire surveying female university students in the Seoul. The data were analyzed by SPSS Hangul 10.0 Statistic Package. 16 apparel brands that had been selected by a preliminary study were surveyed. The data analysis method employed a factor analysis, analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis. The study found that consumers' perception of personified brands is divided into Friendliness and control like in interpersonal communication, and consumers' preference and purchase intention becomes different depending on affection and control perception. In particular, it was analyzed that more important factor that decides preference and purchase intention is the perception in the aspect of control, not in the aspect of Friendliness.
Objectives: This study examined ways to promote desirable eating habits by choosing foods with low sugar contents and provide nutrition education in adolescents. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional survey. The sugar reduction perception and knowledge, sugary food preference, and intake frequency of 487 male and female high school students in Incheon were analyzed comparatively. Results: Approximately 94.9% and 94.5% of the subjects were unaware of the promotion of a sugar reduction policy and the sugar reduction in the basic guidelines for school meals, respectively. Approximately 95% of them had not received any sugar reduction nutrition education, and 90% were not interested in sugar reduction. The perception for sugar reduction was significantly higher in girls (3.43 out of 5 points) than in boys (3.16 out of 5 points) (P < 0.001). Knowledge about sugar was 3.65 out of 6 points in girls and 3.04 points in boys (P < 0.001). The preference and intake frequency for fruits of the total students were 4.24 out of 5 points and 2.56, respectively. For beverages, the preference was significantly higher in boys (3.97 points) than in girls (3.70 points) (P < 0.001), and the intake frequency was significantly higher in boys (2.26 points) than in girls (2.08 points) (P < 0.001). The preference for snacks was significantly higher for girls (4.19 points) than boys (4.02 points) (P < 0.01), and the intake frequency was 2.22 points in boys and 2.17 in girls, showing no significant difference. Sugar reduction perception and knowledge about sugar showed significant negative correlations with the snack intake frequency (r = -0.11, P < 0.05; -0.13, P < 0.05) after adjusting for gender, grade, and body mass index. Conclusions: The high school students' perception of sugar reduction was very low, and there was a significant correlation with sugary food intake, suggesting that the sugary food intake will decrease as the sugar reduction perception and knowledge about sugar increase.
This study consists of the stimuli of a female model in her twenties with twenty-three different facial make-up and survey on the differences of them for the development of make-up color system, based on the color-sense on the Korean's skin-tone and make-up color, to enforce the efficiency of beauty education. The result of this study and the suggestion is as followed. Firstly, Familiarity, Intelligence, Fitness, Charm, Tradition and Youth were came out as the result of factor analysis of make-up color image perception. Secondly, the stimulus of bare face was evaluated as more familiar and intelligent than the one with image make-up but perceived as unhealthy and not untraditional. Thirdly, skin tone had a big impact on both in lip color that's been applied in monotonous make-up and in image make-up that had been applied in contrastive make-up. Through these results, it is confirmed that the skin tone and make-up colors were influential variables in the research on facial image perception and preference against a female model in her 20s, and also the image test and preference can be changed according to the color contrasts. This research will be used as a basic tool for the development of make-up color applying system with image perception of statics of population variables and preference research. Also it aims to suggest the alternatives to perform the present collage make-up education for more systematic and organized education.
This study is focus on exploring the relationship between the index of shape and the factor of perception. This study site is a Sorak National Park which sciences of road-landscape. Slides, which were used in the study, were taken in the Sorak National Park along the roads. For this purpose, the study used the questionnairy about the Road-landscape which was presented by a slide projection, also used th index of Shape. This research used analysis method of multi-regression between the preference and perceptional factors, and between the preference and index of shape. 1) The regression result of $R^2$ is 00827 between the preference and perceptional factors, therefore we can positively consider that the preference is related to the perception. The preference is affected highly by the intimacy which is the one of perceptional factors. 2) The regression result of $R^2$ is 0.692 between the preference and the index of shape. The preference has a relation with the index of shape, and it is affected highly by the index of sky. 3) Therefore, this study identifies the relationship between the preference and the perceptional factors, and the index of shape makes this relationship possible.
