This study focused on the relationship among perceived social support from care teacher(institution staff), internal locus of control, and school adjustment of institutionalized children. This also examined the differences of perceived social support, internal thou of control, and school adjustment by gender and the duration in the institution. Participant were 119 fifth-and sixth-grade elementary school studens(58 boys, 61 girts). Perceived social support from care teacher, internal locus of control, and school adjustment were measured by self-reports of institutionalized children. The data were analyzed, in SPSS Win program, by Cronbach's α, T-test, Pearson Correlations, Simple Regression, Hierarchical Multiple Regression. As expected, results confirm that perceived social support was associated positively with internal locus of control and school adjustment. further, perceived social support also exerts indirect effects on school adjustment, mediated by internal locus of control. However, none of these variables differed by gender and the duration in the institution.

Methods: One hundred patients were recruited into the study. The data were collected by personal interviews using questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression analysis were used with SPSS program to were analyze the data. Results: There were significant relationships between self-esteem (r=.787, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.681, p<.001), internal health locus of control (r=.557, p<.001), powerful others health locus of control (r=.517, p<.001), chance health locus of control (r=-.251, p=.012), perceived health status (r=.532, p<.001) and HPB. Significant factors in explaining HPB were self-esteem, powerful others health locus of control, self-efficacy and perceived health status and together they accounted for 71% of variance. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that self-esteem, powerful others health locus of control, self-efficacy, and perceived health status were important factors in explaining HPB in patients with multiple myeloma. As self-esteem was an important variable in HPB, health promotion program designed for this population should focus on self-esteem and these other factors to enhance effective health promotion behavior.
This study examined different individual and parental factors that affect children's achievement motivation. For an analysis, perceived competence, intrinsic locus of control were included in individual variables. For parental variables, parental support and achievement pressure and marital conflict were examined. The sample consisted of 561 fifth and sixth grade children. Statistics and methods used for the data analysis were Cronbach's alpha, Factor analysis, frequency, percentage, Pearson's correlation, and Hierarchical Regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, girl's achievement motivation was higher than boys. No age difference was found between fifth and sixth grade. Second, boy's and girl's achievement motivation had a positive correlation with perceived competence, intrinsic locus of control, parental support and achievement pressure but a negative correlation with parental marital conflict. Third, important variables predicting boy's and girl's achievement motivation were perceived academic competence, parental achievement pressure and perceived social competence. Important variables predicting boy's individual and social oriented achievement motivation were perceived academic competence and parental achievement pressure. On the other hand, important variables predicting girl's individual oriented achievement motivation were perceived social competence, perceived academic competence, intrinsic locus of control and parental achievement pressure. Important variables predicting girl's social oriented achievement motivation were parental achievement pressure, perceived academic competence and mother's support.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the variables which affect the coping styles for stress which was produced by family resource management in housewives. The subjects of this study were 565 married women who lived in apartment in Taegu. A questionnaire was used as survey method. The data was analyzed by means of factor analysis, t-test ANOVA Scheffe test coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The main findings were as follows; First the coping styles for stress were found to be significantly different according to the objective resources. Second perceived adequacy resource is positively correlated with the active coping style. Third locus of control is negatively correlated with the passive coping style and the evasive coping style, Forth in the coping styles for stress the active coping style was affected by locus of control perceived adequacy resource income employment of housewives and the evasive coping style was affected by locus of control.
This descriptive-correlational study was undertaken in order to examine if there was relationship between health locus of control and health behavior of 122 residents in Choong Nam Province. We sampled 204 university student smokers using questionnaires and analyzed the data using Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as follows : 1. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(intention : r=.215, p=.005, attitude : r=.160, p=.025, perceived behavior control : r=.298, p=.000) and self efficacy. 2. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(attitude : r=.228, p=.002) and internal health locus of control. There were significant positive correlation between theory of planned behavior(attitude : r=.203, p=.004, subjective norm : r=.141, p=.047) and external health locus of control. There were significant negative correlation between theory of planned behavior(perceived behavior control : r=-.152, p=.034) and accidental health locus of control. This study has shown a correlation between theory of planned behavior and self efficacy and health locus of control. As a result of these findings, I suggest to develop the intervention program for smoking cessation.
