This study gives opportunity for investigating how student teachers view the teaching profession and how they transfer their pedagogical knowledge into practice. The aim of the study is to investigate the teaching skills student teachers gained in the assessment of micro teaching of their peers. The participants are 30 mathematics student teachers enrolled in the teacher training program in a state university. Document analysis and semi-structured interviews are the research instruments and inferential & descriptive statistics are used for the data analysis. The findings suggest that the qualitative and quantitative peer assessments of student teachers were graded differently which results from the difference of perceptions about teaching and different conceptualizations of the teaching qualifications.

Climate change and energy security are major factors for future national energy policy. To resolve these issues, many countries are focusing on creating new growth industries and energy services such as smartgrid, renewable energy, microgrid, energy management system, and peer to peer energy trading. The financial and economic evaluation of new energy services basically requires energy savings estimation technologies. This paper presents the baseline load estimation method, which is used to calculate energy savings resulted from participating in the new energy program, using moving average model with heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD) adjustment. To demonstrate the improvement of baseline load estimation accuracy, the proposed method is tested. The results of case studies are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed baseline load estimation method.
A efficient P2P (peer to peer) networking for sharing multimedia contents is proposed to overcome the limitations of unstructured approaches. The proposed approach is attempting to organize the participating P2P nodes by modifying a n-dimensional cartesian-coordinate space DHT (distributed hash table), CAN (content addressable network). The network identifiers (e.g., network prefix of IP address) of participating nodes are mapped into the CAN virtual coordinate space (in 2-d) and nodes with similar identifiers are grouped into the same zone. The proposed scheme is expected to show some level of concentration reflecting the network identifiers. Network simulator-based evaluation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among body image attitudes and their correlates in early adolescence. The participants were 614 adolescents. The results were as follows: 1) There were significant correlations among adolescents' body image evaluation, body image investment, body mass index, depression, perceptions of parental and peer influence, and awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance, 2) There were significant differences in depression, parents' influence, peer influence, and awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance between adolescents with higher body image investment and those with lower body image investment, and 3) Awareness of media messages regarding physical appearance was the most influential predictor of adolescents' body image investment.
This paper presents a dynamic retry adaptation scheme for H.264 HD video, called DRAS.264, which dynamically adjusts the retry limits of frames at the medium access control (MAC) layer according to the impact those frames have on the streamed H.264 HD video. DRAS.264 is further improved with a bandwidth estimation technique, better prediction of packet delays, and expanded results covering multi-slice video. Our study is performed using the Open Evaluation Framework for Video Over Networks as a simulation environment for various congestion scenarios. Results show improvements in average peak signal-to-noise ratios of up to 4.45 dB for DRAS.264 in comparison to the default MAC layer operation. Furthermore, the ability of DRAS.264 to prioritize data of H.264 bitstreams reduces error propagation during video playback, leading to noticeable visual improvements.

This study is aimed for a scale of assessing the work performance, educational operations, and so on of preschool teachers by the peers. It has been previously discussed the studies of scale assesment of preschool teachers, however, the scale assesment had been a self-assesment or a transitory assesment by the senior teachers and principals only. This study is developed to assess the preschool teachers through the peer- teachers. Peer-assesment has strong points that to assess the teachers constantly can be more accurate, the assessment result can be used as the basic material for peer scholarship, and it can give the preschool teachers an opportunity to be recognised on tasks. There are 51 questions are developed to assess the peers. 9 sections total; 1) 6 questions on body human nature 2) 6 questions on view on career 3) 3 questions on self-development 4) 4 questions on curriculum planing 5) 12 questions on administering and managing 6) 6 questions on understanding children 7) 4 questions on managing a class 8) 7 questions on work performance 9) 3 questions on teaching practice. Each section is surveyed by 150 preschool teachers, and the all questions are analysed statistically appropriate of a scale(validity of contents, validity of surveyors, inter-item consistency) and appropriate of each section. It is known this peer assesment of preschool teachers is an appropriate scale.

The discriminating power of journal evaluation criteria of Korean medical journals were measured. The study used the data of 76 medical journals, collected in the "Korean Medical Journal Evaluation" process conducted by the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (KAMJE) between 1997 and 1999. For each evaluation criterion, the distribution of the individual score vs the total score of a journal received was plotted and their correlations were analyzed. It is found that the evaluation criteria with a high discriminating power are the ones associated with the peer review system and the journal editing. The evaluation criteria with a low discriminating power are the journal frequency and how often a chief editor is changed. Some evaluation criteria such as "Journal holding rates of medical libraries" and "year-end index" need modifications in the evaluation methods. Other evaluation criteria such as "Journal self-citation rate","SCI citation rate" and "SCI impact factor" need to modify the score ranges. It is recommended that the new evaluation criteria such as "citation rate by Korean medical journals" and "Access availability of the journal information through major Korean medical abstract databases" should be added.formation through major Korean medical abstract databases" should be added.dded.
Objectives: This article examines the diversity of healthy cities evaluation in practice and discusses the major conflicting issues in evaluating healthy cities to offer implications to academics and cities for application in their field. Methods: The author discusses issues on major topics that arose from a review of literature on selected articles from peer-reviewed journals, books and gray literature. The recently developed Korean Healthy Cities evaluation framework is used as a main source of reference. Results: Evaluating healthy cities is in itself a political process and requires multiple methodologies and diverse sources of data. Details of the evaluation process depend on the purposes and goals predetermined by the stakeholders. The Korean Healthy Cities evaluation framework applies these principles and suggests a participatory approach to evaluation, selection of indicators that provide evidence on the process of change and to use mixed evaluation methods. The involvement of stakeholders in the evaluation process can also be a useful tool to further strengthen partnerships and strategies for healthy cities. Conclusion: Cities need to engage more in evaluation activities and develop necessary skills and capacity to produce utility-driven evidence.

Altmetrics is an emergent research area whereby social media is applied as a source of metrics to evaluate scientific impact. Recently, the interest in altmetrics has been growing. Traditional scientific impact evaluation indictors are based on the number of publications, citation counts and peer reviews of a researcher. As research publications were increasingly placed online, usage metrics as well as webometrics appeared. This paper explores the potential benefits of altmetrics and the deep relationship between each metrics. Firstly, we found a weak-to-medium correlation among the 11 altmetrics and visualized such correlation. Secondly, we conducted principal component analysis and exploratory factor analysis on altmetrics of social media, divided the 11 altmetrics into four feature sets, confirming the dispersion and relative concentration of altmetrics groups and developed the altmetrics evaluation model. We can use this model to evaluate the scientific impact of articles on social media.
