  • Shape optimization of an upper plenum of PBMR type gas cooled nuclear reactor has been performed by using three-dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) analysis and surrogate modeling technique. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of uniformity of flow distribution in the core and pressure drop in the upper plenum and the core. The ratio of thickness of slot to diameter of rising channels, ratio of height of upper plenum to diameter of rising channels, and ratio of eight of the slot at inlet to outlet, are used as design variables for optimization. Design points are selected through Latin-hypercube sampling. The optimal point is determined through surrogate-based optimization method which uses 3-D RANS analyses at design points. The results show that the optimum shape represent remarkably improved performance in flow uniformity and friction loss than the reference shape.

  • Distribution, population structure, and growth of the bivalve Protothaca euglypta were investigated for clams collected from the northwestern part of the East Sea of Russia. This species is distributed in further northern area than it was found earlier. In the southern area, this clam is found in the intertidal zone, up to 8 m in depth. It is one of the most numerous infaunal species of bivalves, and protected to wave action in the gravel-pebble and sand with rubble biotope. Population density of P. euglypta reaches 500 $spc./m^2$, and biomass 2 $kg/m^2$. Size and age composition of the local settlements and allometric growth of P. euglypta depend on a biotope. The growth rate of P. euglypta considerably reduces in case of the northern boundary area, whereas life span increases.

  • In this study, the neutronic calculation to obtain tritium breeding ratio (TBR) in a deuterium-tritium (D-T) fusion power reactor using Monte Carlo MCNPX is done. In addition, by using COMSOL software, an efficient cooling system is designed. In the proposed design, it is adequate to enrich up to 40% 6Li. Total tritium breeding ratio of 1.12 is achieved. The temperature of helium as coolant gas never exceed 687℃. As regards the tolerable temperature of beryllium (650℃), the design of blanket module is done in the way that beryllium temperature never exceed 600℃. The main feature of this design indicates the temperature of helium coolant is higher than other proposed models for blanket module, therefore power of electricity generation will increase.

  • This study is focused on the geological structure of Igog-Jangam folded zone in the vicinity of Goesan town where Ogcheon group distributes. The geology is composed of Gyemyungsan formation, Daehyangsan quartzite, Munjuri formation and Hwanggangri formation of Ogcheon group unknown age in descending order, and porphyritic biotite granite and dyke rocks that intruded into the Ogcheon group. The study revealed that Igog-Jangam folded zone is a plunged synclinal fold based on the following evidences; 1) Some pebbles in Hwanggangri formation at Minaemi-gol (a name of village) consists of phyllite of Munjuri formation. 2) The pebble bearing phyllitic bed in this area, Hwanggangri formation was recognized as the uppermost member in Ogcheon group instead of the basal one of the group. 3) A crest of anticlinal fold has been appeared near the Goegang bridge as a structural counter-part of that of the present area. 4) The study of lineation of minor fold in Munjuri formation also suggests that Igog-Jangam folded zone manifests to be a synclinal structure.

  • In this thesis, using the 400 series ferrite stainless steel such as 434LD$_2$ which are furter excellent then the existing ferric products in mechanical characteristics, and experiment has been conducted on corrosion resistance of sensor ring. The results are following. 1. The products before sintering are much more corrodible in the condition of spray test of salt water and ammonia than humidity and nitrogen condition. 2. 434LD$_2$ ferrite stainless steel has shown a good corrosion resistance without an addition surface treatment. thus the decreasing production process has been obtained. 3. As hardness value of $H_{RB}$ 80 and tensile test, 434LD$_2$ ferrite stainless steel with show a good endurance when it is combined to constant velocity joint (c/v joint), and has a good hardness properties endurable to sand and pebble impact.

  • ABS sensor ring has been manufactured by P/M method using 400 series ferrite stainless steel. The results are as following: It is supposedly sufficient to use for control computer due to good experimental results of magnetic characteristics. Compared with sensor ring made by iron, 400 series ferrite stainless steel has shown a good corrosion resistance without an addition surface treatment. Thus the decreasing production process has been obtained. As a result of hardness and tensile test, 400 series ferrite stainless steel shown a good endurance when it is combined to C/V joint, and has a good hardness properties endurable to sand and pebble impact.

  • A pebbling step on a graph consists of removing two pebbles from one vertex and placing one pebble on an adjacent vertex. The covering cover pebbling number of a graph is the smallest number of pebbles, such that, however the pebbles are initially placed on the vertices of the graph, after a sequence of pebbling moves, the set of vertices with pebbles forms a covering of G. In this paper we find the covering cover pebbling number of n-cube and diameter two graphs. Finally we give an upperbound for the covering cover pebbling number of graphs of diameter d.

  • This study aims to investigate geomorphological and geological landscapes in the Taeanhaean National Park to ensure they are well-preserved. This study discovered 390 geomorphological and geological landform resources distributed in the coastal zone of Taeanhaean National Park. Representative geomorphological and geological landforms include : sea cliffs, sea caves, wave-cut platforms, sea-stacks, pebble beaches, sand beaches, tidal flats, coastal dunes, coastal dune wetlands and folds (or micro folds) landforms. Deposition landforms are developed more and erosion and weathering landforms are less on the land zone than island zone. These landform resources vary from district to district and can be developed for geo-tourism resources. Combined efforts from the Taeanhaean National Park authorities and residents are essential to manage ecological programs using geomorphological and geological resources.
