  • In this study, we attempted to evaluate the relationship between air dilution sensory test and instrumental detection method for individual odorous compound. For the purpose of our comparative study, we conducted the analysis of malodor on total of 46 samples collected from both industrial and food waste sectors using the two independent approaches. The results of instrumental analyses were explained after modification to several parameters such as: the sum of odor concentration (SOC), sum of odor quotient (SOQ) and sum of odor intensity (SOI). When we compared dilution ratio values (DRV) of threshold limit (TL) with the modified instrumental data sets, pearson coefficient of SOC, SOQ, and SOI were 0.556 (p=5.83E-05), 0.911 (p=9.64E-19) and 0.847 (p=8.93E-14), respectively. The results of this study thus suggest that the DRV of TL sensitively reflects odor strength measured intuitive.

  • Nowadays, with the burgeoning development of economy, $CO_2$ emissions increase rapidly in China. It has become a common concern to seek effective methods to forecast $CO_2$ emissions and put forward the targeted reduction measures. This paper proposes a novel hybrid model combined principal component analysis (PCA) with regularized extreme learning machine (RELM) to make $CO_2$ emissions prediction based on the data from 1978 to 2014 in China. First eleven variables are selected on the basis of Pearson coefficient test. Partial autocorrelation function (PACF) is utilized to determine the lag phases of historical $CO_2$ emissions so as to improve the rationality of input selection. Then PCA is employed to reduce the dimensionality of the influential factors. Finally RELM is applied to forecast $CO_2$ emissions. According to the modeling results, the proposed model outperforms a single RELM model, extreme learning machine (ELM), back propagation neural network (BPNN), GM(1,1) and Logistic model in terms of errors. Moreover, it can be clearly seen that ELM-based approaches save more computing time than BPNN. Therefore the developed model is a promising technique in terms of forecasting accuracy and computing efficiency for $CO_2$ emission prediction.

  • Purpose: It has been suggested that approximately 40% of women between 40 and 64 years of age cease their sexual activity. The aim of this study was to establish the basic data for FSD(female sexual dysfunction) and FSD-related factors in regional urban and rural areas of Korea. Method: Three hundred twenty five women over 20 years of age and resident in regional urban and rural areas were analyzed by a visit survey with an organized questionnaire. The female sexual function index(FSFI) for measurement of sexual dysfunction was used. The significance between the degree of sexual dysfunction and characteristics of the participants was analyzed by a t-test and ANOVA test. The relationship between the degree of sexual dysfunction and related factors was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: All analyzing tools including the FSFI had a high validity for measuring. The FSFI in Korean women was $19.97{\pm}4.87$ and ranged from 2 to 29. Old age, menopause, medication, no contraception usage and longer marital duration were significantly related with a lower FSFI score. Pearson's correlation coefficient revealed the significance in degrees of sexual distress (r=-.469, p=.000), sexual attitude(r=.305, p=.000) and a stressful life event(r= -.141, p=.038) with the sexual function index score. Conclusion: Women with sexual dysfunction should be evaluated for these sexual function-related factors in the history taking, and this data can be a basis for study for sexual dysfunction.

  • To assess the relationship between the severity of stenosis in MCA territory and the differentiation of syndromes in oriental medical aspects, the general characteristics, the scores of stroke-pattern identification, and the findings of MRA were compared in 18 acute cerebral infarction patientshospitalized in Dept. of Internal Medicine, Pundang CHA Oriental Medicine Hospital from 1998 sep. 1 to 1999 sep. 31. We compared the scores of stroke-pattern identification with the severity of stenosis by Kruskall-Wallis test, and analyzed the relationship by Pearson correlation test. The P value under 0.05 was regarded as significant. The results are as follows: The incidence of stenosis(mild to complete occlusion) was 83.3%. There were significant difference of the mean scores according to the severity of stenosis in Yin deficiency pattern. We could also observe a strong relationship between the severity of stenosis and Yin deficiency pattern, whose Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.655 (P<0.05). These results showed that Yin deficiency pattern could be a major cause of cerebral infarction.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical availability of the pendulum test (through reliability and validity) using a NK table attached electrogoniometer for spasticity measurement in patients with brain lesions. METHODS: Thirty-one stroke and traumatic brain injury subjects participated in the study. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to verify the test-retest reliability of spasticity measures of the pendulum test. Pearson's product correlation coefficient was used to examine the validity of the pendulum test through the amplitude of the deep tendon reflex (DTR) test known for objective and quantitative measure of spasticity. RESULTS: In these results, the test-retest reliability was showed significantly high correlation between pendulum tests (ICCs=.95~.97, p<.01). There were significant negative correlations between the amplitude of the DTR test and all measures of spasticity of the pendulum test(r=-.77~-.85, p<.01). CONCLUSION: Thus, it is possible to use the pendulum test using a NK table as an objective measure of spasticity, rather than other expensive equipment, which is more complicated to use. Further studies are needed to explore the therapeutic effects of spasticity using a newly designed pendulum test equipment in this study.

  • Many countries around the world using ICT technologies have various technologies to keep pace with the 4th industrial revolution, and various algorithms and systems have been developed accordingly. Among them, many industries and researchers are investing in unmanned automation systems based on AI. At the time when new technology development and algorithms are developed, decision-making by big data analysis applied to AI systems must be equipped with more sophistication. We apply, Pearson's correlation analysis is applied to six independent variables to find out the job satisfaction that office workers feel according to their job characteristics. First, a correlation coefficient is obtained to find out the degree of correlation for each variable. Second, the presence or absence of correlation for each data is verified through hypothesis testing. Third, after visualization processing using the size of the correlation coefficient, the degree of correlation between data is investigated. Fourth, the degree of correlation between variables will be verified based on the correlation coefficient obtained through the experiment and the results of the hypothesis test

  • Objective : This study aims to verify the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Sensory Processing and Self-Regulation Checklist (SPSRC) for children with and without autism spectrum disorder. Methods : The Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was calculated using Short Sensory Profile (SSP) to verify concurrent validity. Construct validity was verified by comparing the sensory processing ability and self-regulation ability of the two groups. Cronbach's α was calculated in the case of internal consistency for reliability verification, and the test-retest reliability was verified through the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results : Based on the verification of the concurrent validity, the Korean version of SPSRC and SSP showed a statistically significant correlation (p < 0.01). The construct validity was found to have a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the area and sub-items of the Korean version of SPSRC (p < 0.001). For the internal consistency, Cronbach's α ranged from 0.700 to 0.975. The test-retest reliability showed that the correlation coefficient ranged from 0.937 to 0.997. Conclusion : The Korean version of SPSRC was confirmed to be an evaluation tool with high validity and reliability. It is expected to be used as an evaluation tool for planning treatment goals in clinical trials and as a meaningful basis for future research.
