한의원 환경 및 한의사의 진료 현황에 대한 연구 (A Survey of the Medical Treatment Environment in Traditional Korean Medicine Clinics)

  • Objective: To check the status of traditional Korean medical doctors' medical services amid the continual increase in the number of traditional Korean medicine clinics. Methods: A survey of traditional Korean medicine clinics based on questionnaire sheets mailed to 4,200 out of 10,895 clinics, of which 465, or 11.0%, responded, in the June 1, 2008 to December 9, 2008 period. Results: 1. 65.6% of the traditional Korean responding clinics are doing business in a rented space; 92.1%of them are one-person institutions; 24.4% of them, i.e., the largest group of those surveyed, operate in a space sized 41 (123 $m^2$)~50 pyeong (150$m^2$). The number of sick beds installed in their facilities comes to 7.9 on average. 2. Concerning support staff, 190 of them (or 40.9%), i.e., the largest group of those surveyed, employ two people in this capacity. They generally comprise assistant nurses (48.7%) and others (47.6%). 3. The size of the space used by the clinics is showing a tendency to increase. The number of sick beds and support staff, including assistant nurses, reached a peak in 2006, and has been on the decrease since then. 4. The average number of on-days comes to six days a week among 92.6% of those surveyed. Their average daily service hours come to 9 hours and 33 minutes (from 9:17 am to 6:50 pm). 5. Per-patient service time: 14 minutes on average; per-patient acupuncture time: 18.8 minutes; per-patient moxa cautery time: 10.1 minutes per-patient; boil-cupping time: 5.7 minutes; per-patient physical treatment: 28 minutes. Conclusion: Periodical studies should be carried out concerning desirable ways of developing traditional Korean medicine clinics with the focus on the facilities, doctors' service hours, and types of service.

'여홍' 딸기의 대구지방 휴면최심기와 반촉성 보온개시기 (Deepest Dormancy Period in Strawberry 'Reiko' and Time for Starting Insulation in Semi-forcing With Lighting in Daegu Area)

  • 95-98년에 걸쳐 대구지방에서 '여홍'을 공시하여 육묘하고 9월 중순 24cm 플라스틱 포트에 정식하여 노지재배 관리하였다. 9월 하순부터 다음해 1월 말까지 5일 간격으로 전조온실에 딸기를 입실재배하면서 휴면최심기, 반휴면 상태의 초형을 나타내는 보온개시기, 노지포장의 초상온도 측정치로부터 '여홍'의 휴면 타파 경과 시기, 저온적산시간의 기점, 생육 및 수량에 관한 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 대구지방에서 '여홍'의 휴면이 가장 깊은 시기는 95년에는 11월 5일, 96년에는 10월 25일, 97년에는 10월 31일이였다. '여홍'이 전조온실에서 반휴면 상태의 초형을 나타낸 보온개시기는 95년도와 96년에는 11월 10일-20일, 97년에는 11월 10일-30일이었다. 휴면최심기를 기점으로 '여홍'의 휴면타파에 요하는 초상기온 $5^{\circ}C$ 이하 100-200시간의 경과시기는 96년에는 11월 16일-25일, 97년에는 11월 24일-12월 5일이었다. '여홍'의 수량은 각 연도마다 10월-11월의 보온개시에서 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. '여홍'은 전조 재배 시 촉성작형의 적응특성을 나타내었고 전조반촉성 재배 시에는 휴면최심기 기점 $5^{\circ}C$ 이하 50-150시간 경과 시에 보온 개시하는 것이 최선이라 사료되었다.

남양주시 하수발생특성 연구 (Study on Characteristics of Wastewater Flow for Namyangju City)

  • In this study, we performed 8 times of water quality sampling and continuous measurement of flow to identify wastewater flow characteristics for wastewater treatment basins of Namyangju city. The field survey has been conducted 6 times in dry weather period and 2 times in wet weather period. Each survey conducted 24-hr water quality sampling in the interval of 2-hr. From the analysis of flow data and water quality data, the following conclusions can be drawn. For Namyangju-1 station, which represents residential and commercial mixed area, flow rises early in the morning before office-going hour and moves up and down within narrow range, and lasted after office-leaving hour, resulting from continuous commercial activity. In case of Namyangju-5 station representing community and Namyangju- 6 station representing residential area, the flow immediately falls down after rising early in the morning and later rises again at the office-leaving hour, and arrives at peak flows around late evening. In the analysis of wastewater characteristics for weekdays and weekends, without landuse types the flow rate of weekends is higher than that of weekdays because it reflects population, being not contributed to generate wastewater during the working hours of weekdays, stay home and produce wastewater for weekends period.

업무용 건물의 용도 및 운전 기간별 에너지 소비 특성 연구 (A Study on the Energy Consumption Characteristics for Use and Operation Period in Office Buildings)

  • The purpose of this study is to calculate the energy consumption rate based on data regarding energy use in office buildings, and to confirm the general characteristics of energy consumption. The energy consumption rate of the building is calculated by dividing the energy consumption by the floor area. The energy consumption rate of small-sized office buildings was calculated as $101.48{\sim}201.55kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$ and in the case of medium-sized buildings, the range was $92.77{\sim}177.89kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$. In the case of small buildings, it was found that the energy consumption was $73.24kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$ in electronic device, $34.31kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$ in hot water supply, and $18.37kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$ in heating. In the case of medium-sized buildings, electronic devices was $73.08kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$, lighting was $18.35kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$ and heating, $15.37kWh/m^2{\cdot}year$. In all of the study buildings, the peak heating energy use was observed from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m during the winter, and the peak power management was required. Energy use at and around the midnight hour is confirmed to be 40~60% of weekly working hours, so it is necessary to manage power use at night time as well as during the day. In order to improve the accuracy of future studies, it is necessary to make efforts to secure the data with standardized energy measuring units for the various type of buildings.

오존농도의 動態 및 影響因子에 關한 硏究 (Studies on the Behaviour of Ozone Concentration and the Influencing Factors)

  • This study was carried out to determine the ozone concentration to behaviour and the factors to be influenced the variation of its concentration in the ambient air in Seoul. Measurements of ozone concentrations were made at 10 monitoring station to take care of SIHE (Seoul Institute of Health & Environment) during December 1987 to November 1988, also measured the hourly average concentration of sulfur dioxide, total suspended particulate, nitrogen oxide $(NO & NO_2)$, carbon monoxide, hydro carbon $(n-CH_4 & THC)$ and meteorological factors, that is, temperature, humidity, wind velocity wind direction and ultraviolet intensity etc, for the same period at same place. The basis of the data obtained were analyzed statistically along with the various data. The results were as follows; 1. The annually arithmetic mean concentration of ozone for the 10 sites during one years was 10.0 ppb and ranged from 3.1 $\pm$ 4.5ppb at the Kuro industrial complex to 17.2 $\pm$ 18.7 ppb at the Ssangmun site. 2. The frequency of hours on which oxidant concentrations exceeded the present short term standard of ozone (100 ppb) were 78 times. 3. The diurnal patterns of hourly ozone concentrations in Seoul area was a typical bi-modal variation which have 4 to 5 a.m. peak and 3. to 4 p.m peak. 4. The time ozone of highest ozone concentration in a whole day and hight was 1 to 5 p.m and 90.9 percent of appearence rate. 5. The diurnal patterns of hourly ozone concentrations in Seoul were on the whole the order of daytime from 5.8ppb to 28.7 ppb evening from 1.7 to 18.7 ppb night time from 1.9 to 9.3 ppb daybreak from 1.4ppb according to measuring sites, and the highest that observed at the Ssangmun area while the lowest was the Kuro industrial complex monitor sites. 6. The weekly variation of ozone concentration was the higher level ozone concentration in the day of the week occured sunday-monday and weekend but the decrease were observed from wednesday to thursday.

Component Analysis of Thermally Activated Building System in Residential Buildings

  • The packaged terminal air conditioner, the typical cooling system for the residential buildings, consumes a large amount of electricity in a short period time during peak hours. In order to reduce the peak load and conserve the electricity, the thermally activated building system can be used as a secondary system to handle the partial cooling load. However, the thermally activated building system may cause condensation and under-cooling. Thus, design of both systems should be performed with careful investigation in characteristics of both systems to amplify the advantages. Since the thermally activated building system has the time-delay effect which may cause under-cooling, the system is designed to handle the base load of the building. Hence, simple simulation with EnergyPlus was performed to observe the characteristics of cooling load in residential buildings. Once the possible range of the load handling ratio of the thermally activated building system was decided, characteristics of system was analyzed in terms of hardware component and operation parameters. The hardware components were analyzed in plant and system aspects and the operation parameter was evaluated in the thermal comfort aspect. As the load handling ratio increased, the thermal comfort increased due to the lower radiant mean temperatures. Within the range of thermal comfort, the several adjustments were made in setpoint temperature and electricity consumptions of difference cases were observed to decide which components and parameters were important for designing the systems.

급성 글루포시네이트 암모늄 중독환자에서 혈중 Neuron specific enolase 수치와 경련발생 간의 연관성 (Relationship between Serum Neuron Specific Enolase Level and Seizure in Patients with Acute Glufosinate Ammonium Poisoning)

  • Purpose: Glufosinate ammonium poisoning can cause seizures, even after a symptom-free period. This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between serum neuron specific enolase (NSE) level and the occurrence of seizures in patients with acute glufosinate ammonium poisoning. Methods: For this retrospective observational study, data from patients diagnosed with acute glufosinate ammonium poisoning were collected between January 2016 and June 2016. Serum NSE was measured within 2 hours of arrival at the emergency department. The patients were divided into a seizure group and a non-seizure group. Results: The seizure group included eight of the 15 total patients (53.3%). The serum NSE level was significantly higher in the seizure group than in the non-seizure group ($32.4{\pm}11.9ng/mL$ vs. $19.5{\pm}5ng/mL$, p=0.019). The amount of glufosinate ingested and initial and peak serum ammonia levels were significantly higher in the seizure group than in the non-seizure group. There was no significant difference in the area under the curve of the serum NSE level or the initial and peak serum ammonia levels in terms of predicting the occurrence of seizures. Conclusion: In acute glufosinate poisoning, initial serum NSE levels may help in prediction of seizures.

강우 공간분포가 토사유출에 미치는 영향의 실험적 고찰 (Influence of Spatial Rainfall Distribution on Sediment Yield: An Experimental Study)

  • 본 연구에서는 강우의 공간분포에 따른 토사유출의 특성을 토조 실험을 통해 탐구하였다. 강우의 공간분포는 강우 집중위치를 사면의 중앙부와 상류부로 각각 설정함으로 조정하였다. 토사유출의 시간적 변동성을 충분히 포착하기 위해 장시간(8 시간)의 실험시간 동안 높은 시간해상도(10 분)로 직접유출량, 지하수유출량, 토사유출량을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 강우를 토조의 상류부에 위치시킬수록 토사유출량곡선의 첨둣값은 감소하고 누적토사유출량은 증가하였다. 누적토사유출량은 시간에 따라 선형적으로 증가하였으나, 그 증가율이 2 시간을 기준으로 급격히 감소하였다. 이러한 점은 현재 총량 위주로 기록되어있는 토사유출 실측자료를 사용함에 있어 고려해야 할 사항이라고 결론지을 수 있다. 본 연구 결과는 또한, 향후의 토사유출량 실측은 높은 시간해상도로 측정될 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

UVB조사기의 홍반 발생 특성과 안전성에 관한 연구 (The Study of Characteristic of Induced Erythema and Safety by UVB Lamp)

  • Purpose: The present study purposed to examine induced characteristic or erythema and safety by medium wave ultra violet(UVB) lamp. Methods: We compared sunshine and UVB lamp using spectroradiometer and UV radiometer. For measuring sunshine irradiation, we used spectoradiometer and detected from 8 to 18 o'clock every each hour on the beach, playground and rooftop of a 5 story building. The subjects for erythema examination were 5 healthy subjects who have no pathologic history of photosensitivity reaction, psoriasis and vitiligo. They were exposed to UVB radiation at the abdominal area for 2 hours and after irradiation, we observed the change of skin color every 12 hours over a period of 1 week. Results: Between sunshine and UVB lamp, sunshine had higher data on the chromaticity coordinates, dominant and peak wavelength, bandwidth and purity than the UVB lamp but on the color temperature, brightness the UVB lamp had higher data than the sunshine. In comparison of sunshine and UVB lamp, UVB lamp irradiated constantly such as $3.9-4.4{\mu}W/cm^2$ at a distance of 100cm between bed and lamp which was same as early morning irradiation on the sunshine. The erythema didn't appear to any subject. Conclusion: This results suggest that the UVB lamp has lower irradiance as much as early sunshine. Therefore the UVB lamp had no influence of inducing erythema at a distance of 100cm between bed and lamp.

Detection of an Impact Flash Candidate on the Moon with an Educational Telescope System

  • At the suggestion of the NASA Meteoroid Environment Office (NASA/MEO), which promotes lunar impact monitoring worldwide during NASA's Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) mission period (launched Sept. 2013), we set up a video observation system for lunar impact flashes using a 16-inch educational telescope at Chungnam National University. From Oct. 2013 through Apr. 2014, we recorded 80 hours of video observation of the unilluminated part of the crescent moon in the evening hours. We found a plausible candidate impact flash on Feb. 3, 2014 at selenographic longitude $2.1^{\circ}$ and latitude $25.4^{\circ}$. The flash lasted for 0.2 s and the light curve was asymmetric with a slow decrease after a peak brightness of $8.7{\pm}0.3mag$. Based on a star-like distribution of pixel brightness and asymmetric light curve, we conclude that the observed flash was due to a meteoroid impact on the lunar surface. Since unequivocal detection of an impact flash requires simultaneous observation from at least two sites, we strongly recommend that other institutes and universities in Korea set up similar inexpensive monitoring systems involving educational or amateur telescopes, and that they collaborate in the near future.
