This paper presents development status of sounding rockets containing scientific payload and telemetry at home and abroad. The case of outside, United States is launching sounding rockets in 20-30 flights per year by the NASA program which offers to carry payload weights of 38-680 kg and altitude of 88-1500 km. Europe is launching in 4-5 flights per year by the ESA program. The case of Korean sounding rockets was successful with the launch of three times(KSR-I,II,III), but Korea lags far behind the advanced countries in the field of development technologies for space launch vehicle. We expect that our scientific and industrial technologies will be improved through the research and development of sounding rockets. In this study we proposed necessity and future direction of development in domestic sounding rockets.

Recently, in the space market, there has been a rapid reduction of the launch price. The major reason is that a few commercial companies, especially SpaceX, began to enter into the space market about ten years ago, which has changed the space market from monopolization to competition, and accelerated the adoption of commercial efficiency in the technology and management. Also, the successful landing and recovery of a first stage in 2016 by SpaceX proved to be a prelude to opening a new era of reusable launch vehicles, and SpaceX declared the groundbreaking launch price through using the reusable launch vehicle. This study calculates the total launch cost required to put a certain satellite into the LEO, compares the launch cost in three cases with different payload weights, and reviews the impacts of the payload on the cost effectiveness of a reusable vehicle. The total launch cost is divided into 6 subsections cost, namely development cost, production cost, refurbishment cost, operation cost, fixed-cost of factory and launch site, and insurance cost. The cost estimation relationships used in the calculation are taken from the commonly proven cost models such as TRANSCOST.

In this study, we propose a performance analysis of a quadrature-polarimetric(quad-pol) synthetic aperture radar(SAR) system for wide-swath operation mode and compare it with a single-pol system based on the operation mode. To achieve a shorter revisit time for an SAR satellite, we must observe a wide area, and two SAR operation modes exist for this purpose, which are called ScanSAR and SweepSAR. In general, a quad-pol SAR system can obtain a greater variety of information about a target than a single-pol system. Because this system affects system performance parameters, analyzing these effects is required. Based on a performance analysis of the wide-swath quad-pol SAR system, the system parameters and appropriate operation mode can be selected to satisfy the performance requirements.

A Small-Sat Power System Design and Development should be depend on space environment such as solar wind with Electromagnetic field by hurdle of techniques. It is surmount solution of trend that will unitize and converge with power module in these days. The level of modularize means that applying Universal Middleware for payload power module requirements. The scope of target system is a main power provider module and operational subunit that can be implemented with the final power module distribution loads to consume for continuous process. A Universal Middleware strengthen to build power module from satellite power system should be accuracy and consuming data. A Power Service Module and dynamic system drive interactive management between power distribution and consumer module by Range Control. Consequently, suggesting evaluation, unexpecting payload system power consumer that makes fine variable resources in the development design process and efficiency.

Containerization, a lightweight virtualization technology, enables agile deployments of enterprise-scale microservices in modern cloud environments. However, containerization also opens a new window for adversaries who aim to disrupt the cloud environments. Since microservices are composed of multiple containers connected through a virtual network, a single compromised container can carry out network-level attacks to hijack its neighboring containers. While existing solutions protect containers against such attacks by using network access controls, they still have severe limitations in terms of performance. More specifically, they significantly degrade network performance when processing packet payloads for L7 access controls (e.g., HTTP). To address this problem, we present BPFast, an eBPF/XDP-based payload inspection system for containers. BPFast inspects headers and payloads of packets at a kernel-level without any user-level components. We evaluate a prototype of BPFast on a Kubernetes environment. Our results show that BPFast outperforms state-of-the-art solutions by up to 7x in network latency and throughput.

Automatic Identification System used in ship communication is required for marine control way, including monitoring of vessel operation in coastal and exchanging of information for safety navigation between them. But, it uses a very high frequency band of approximately 160 MHz, and at the same time, due to the curvature of Earth, there is a limit to the communication distance. Several demonstrations were made successfully over satellite, but not much work has been done yet through cube-satellite which has low-orbit at 500 km altitude. Here, we demonstrate a reception test of AIS (automatic identification system) receiver for a cube-satellites using software-defined radio (SDR). We collected AIS data from ship at port of Busan, Korea, using R8202T2 SDR and established to transmit them using Adam-Pluto and Matlab Simulink. The process of weakening the signal strength to a satellite was constructed using attenuator. Through above process, we demonstrated whether AIS data was successfully received from the AIS payload.

Recently, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are used to deliver efficient cytotoxic payloads selectively in cancer cells. In the designing of an ADC, the antibody is connected to a toxic payload via a covalent linker, which helps to solubilizes the typical hydrophobic payload as well as stabilizes the linkage over circulation. The development of the linkers for the antibody drug conjugate is still in demand. Initially, the acid, disulfide, and cathepsin-sensitive ADCs attracted considerable attention for the delivery of a potent cytotoxic payload but suffer from instability in human and mouse plasma with a short half-life. In addition, It also suffer from a solubility issue that induces aggregation, which is the major problem in their development. ADCs associated with sulfatase and phosphatase cleavable linker are highly soluble due to the anionic nature of sulfate and phosphate groups. The ADCs also showed high stability in human and mouse plasma. Therefore, to overcome these limitations, sulfatase and phosphatase cleavable linkers were developed. This review focuses on the recently reported advantages of sulfatase and phosphatase cleavable linkers for ADCs.

With the development of networks and the increase in the number of network devices, the number of cyber attacks targeting them is also increasing. Since these cyber-attacks aim to steal important information and destroy systems, it is necessary to minimize social and economic damage through early detection and rapid response. Many studies using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) have been conducted, among which payload learning is one of the most intuitive and effective methods to detect malicious behavior. In this study, we propose a preprocessing method to maximize the performance of the model when learning the payload in term units. The proposed method constructs a high-quality learning data set by eliminating unnecessary noise (stopwords) and preserving important features in consideration of the machine language and natural language characteristics of the packet payload. Our method consists of three steps: Preserving significant special characters, Generating a stopword list, and Class label refinement. By processing packets of various and complex structures based on these three processes, it is possible to make high-quality training data that can be helpful to build high-performance ML/AI models for security monitoring. We prove the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing the performance of the AI model to which the proposed method is applied and not. Forthermore, by evaluating the performance of the AI model applied proposed method in the real-world Security Operating Center (SOC) environment with live network traffic, we demonstrate the applicability of the our method to the real environment.

Intrusion detection systems that learn metadata of network packets have been proposed recently. However these approaches require time to analyze packets to generate metadata for model learning, and time to pre-process metadata before learning. In addition, models that have learned specific metadata cannot detect intrusion by using original packets flowing into the network as they are. To address the problem, this paper propose a natural language processing-based intrusion detection system that detects intrusions by learning the packet payload as a single sentence without an additional conversion process. To verify the performance of our approach, we utilized the UNSW-NB15 and Transformer models. First, the PCAP files of the dataset were labeled, and then two Transformer (BERT, DistilBERT) models were trained directly in the form of sentences to analyze the detection performance. The experimental results showed that the binary classification accuracy was 99.03% and 99.05%, respectively, which is similar or superior to the detection performance of the techniques proposed in previous studies. Multi-class classification showed better performance with 86.63% and 86.36%, respectively.
