The advertisement system on TV is categorized into full duplex TV and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV). For the full duplex TV or the IPTV, channel providers need a number of advertisements and pay enormous expenses for them. Therefore, this study proposes how to reduce unnecessary expenses based on users' preferences. The advertisement system based on users' preferences is designed to decrease unnecessary advertisements with less expense. To identify preferences in usual advertisements and animation advertisements is to reduce expenses due to the necessity of a number of advertisements. The proposed system was designed to provide full duplex advertisements for profits of advertisement industry and considered users' disposition based on preferences of broadcasting advertisements, through which users can have advertisement desired and providers can expect less advertisement expenses and more profits.

With the discontinuation of analog broadcasting in 2012, the cable broadcasters are investing in the conversion to DCATV (Digital Cable TV). DCATV is providing various broadcast of high quality to audiences through paid broadcasting called PPV (Pay Per View). Such services are using various kinds of CASs (Conditional Access System) in order to verify the viewing rights of subscriber. In addition, to respond to the fast changing environment of digital broadcast, not only simple digitalization of broadcast but also services such as PVR (Personal Video Recorder) and VOD (Video On Demand) are provided to subscribers. Because these additional services have many difficult areas to cover with traditional CAS alone, a new plan has become necessary. With the improvement of related regulations in 2008, the test service of IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) which is a broadcast service through the internet started. Because like DCATV, IPTV also sets the real time broadcast and the VOD service as the basic services, the use of appropriate CAS is required. In this study, the CASs for DCATV and IPTV undergo comparative analysis, and the development direction which will benefit both subscribers and broadcasting companies is suggested.
In this study, the impact on the number of cable TV subscribers as well as the profit of cable TV has been examined, and the impact on enlarging the digital broadcast viewing rights of cable TV subscribers and viewers' welfare has also been examined. We investigated the trends in the number of analog and 8VSB subscribers and revenue of cable TV operators by region and analyzed based on changes in the number of channels provided by each operator. The results show that analog subscribers and digital subscribers are delaying their departure through 8VSB conversion, and VOD subscription fees and home shopping transmission fees have a significant impact on operating profit. Subscribers, as they switched over to 8VSB, have become able to view channels of various genres with clear picture quality for a same subscription fee, and the program providers could offer programs to more customers. The government's deregulation policy due to the changes in broadcasting environment led to the facilitation of digital conversion of Pay-TV and improvement of viewers' welfare.
Since the inception of Internet Protocol TV's real-time service on January, 2009, technological challenges and lack of content diversity of IPTV have been cited as problem areas. While past researches focused on IPTV's technological, industrial and policy facets, this research surveyed the viewers' viewing and usage patterns, and the level of service satisfaction among actual audiences of MegaTV, SKBroadband, and LGTV since January. The results show that subscription fee and content types were the two dominant determinants in audience's choice of a particular IPTV company. The high users of IPTV were on average aged between 30-39, and women tended to be heavier users than men. The surveyed audience also regarded IPTV to be more similar to the Internet than any other medium such as Cable TV and Satellite TV. IPTV audience cited 'lifestyle service' and 'additional service' offerings to be highly relevant to their usage and satisfaction; interactive service and educational service also showed high correlation to usage and satisfaction. The most watched contents on IPTV were domestic TV series, followed by foreign movies and variety shows. 'Fees for additional features,' 'lack of real-time terrestrial TV service', and 'lack of content variety' were the major areas of concern for IPTV viewers. They answered that the monthly fee was the most important factor in the selection of IPTV. Use of pay-per-view contents and add-on interactive service fees were also seen as problematic. With regards to future usage, the IPTV audience revealed that they were very sensitive and reluctant to pay for additional services. While existing researches concentrated on IPTV's technological problems and lack of content diversity, this study illuminated the more pragmatical side of the viewers, namely, the importance of price in audience's selection of an IPTV service provider. From these results, it is recommended that, before doing anything else, the service providers try to meet the audience's expected price points in order to garner the full potential of IPTV and the attendant mass audience.

As a result, consumers in both experimental environments were more likely to prefer UWV than UHD, which is the existing video ratio. Consumers also showed intend to use UWV and are willing to pay for it. As a result of exploring the consumers' maximum amount of money to pay for the UWV and the reasons for it, the perception of immersion, liveliness, and actual experience of UWV were important factors for consumer acceptance of new realistic video technology.
This study tried to examine the validity of the technical and institutional method to perform the purpose of public interest in terrestrial broadcasting. For this purpose, this study concentrated to the rate of direct reception of the terrestrial broadcasting that government and broadcasting company have offered since the digital transition. Results of analysis, it appeared that have not possibility of realization to set the direct receiving antenna and built-in Antenna for enhanced reception of the signal of the terrestrial broadcasting. Second, the MMS, if not enhanced the direct reception, was expected that repeated the retransmission through the pay broadcasting as the time of digital transition. Finally, the disaster broadcast was revealed that reduce the effectiveness of the UHD TV policy because of the mutual interference between frequencies and the incomplete solution of shadow area. Recently, the strategy for N-screen service is in the spotlight along with the consumer's need to use contents regardless of time and place due to the rapid development of communication technology, which is meshing with the desire of service providers seeking a new business model. N-screen, as a screen-extension-concept service which enables consumers to continuously share and use contents in various equipments such as TV, computer and portable terminals, is an advanced type of 3-screen service strategy initially proposed by AT&T, an American telecommunication company. In the N-screen service for pay-contents, in order to support continuous screen changes to and from various equipments, temporary watching right should be given to the equipment intended for screen change. However, it is impossible to give the temporary watching right in the present broadcasting environment, adopting an access-control system. In this paper, the access-control technology being used for pay-contents in the present broadcasting environment and the reason for not being able to give temporary watching right, will be examined. After the examination, the solution for delegation of watching right by using an additional key on the basis of currently used access-control technology, will be proposed.
