A Study on the Human Sensibility Evaluation Technique Using EEGs of 4 Emotions (4가지 감정의 뇌파를 이용한 감성평가 기술에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a technique for human sensibility evaluation using EEGs of 4 emotions. The proposed method uses the linear predictor coefficients as EEG feature parameters and a neural network as sensibility pattern classifier. For subject independent system, multiple templates are stored and the most similar template can be selected. EEG signals corresponding to 4 emotions such as relaxation, joy, sadness and anger are collected from 5 armature performers. The states of relaxation and joy are considered as positive sensibility and those of sadness and anger as negative. The classification performance suing the proposed method is about 72.6%. This may be promising performance in the human sensibility evaluation.

  • 본 논문에서는 semantic parsing과 사전 정의된 어휘-의미 패턴 질의 템플릿 방법론을 결합하여 자연어 질의로부터 RDF 지식베이스에 질의하기 위한 SPARQL 쿼리를 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. semantic parsing 접근법은 문장의 표현과 분리된 형식적 의미표현만을 포착해내므로, paraphrase 혹은 의미 변화와 무관한 어순의 변화에 강인하지만, 일부 자연어 질의문장에는 단순한 의미 및 구조를 갖는 문장도 적합한 형식적 의미표현을 생성하지 못하는 단점이 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 이러한 단순한 문장에 있어서는 사전 정의된 질의 템플릿을 사용하여 적합한 쿼리를 생성하되, 적합한 템플릿을 선택하는데 있어 해당 질의문장의 어휘-의미적 유형을 포착하고 해당 정보를 이용하는 방법을 이용하였으며 이를 통해 주 방법론의 약점을 보완하는 제한적인 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • This paper describes an algorithm that can efficiently analyze the multichannel ECG signal using the frame. The input is a set of significant features (points) which have been extracted from an original sampled signal by using the split-and-merge algorithm. A signal from each channel can be hierarchical ADN/OR graph on the basis of the priori knowledge for ECG signal. The search mechanisms with some heuristics and the mixed paradigms of data-driven hypothesis formation are used as the major control mechanisms. The mutual relations among features are also considered by evaluating a score based on the relational spectrum. For recognition of morphologies corresponding to OR nodes, an hypothesis modification strategy is used. Other techniques such as instance, priority update of prototypes, and template matching facility are also used. This algorithm exactly recognized the primary points and supporting points from the multichannel ECG signals.

  • Writing letters or patterns on a virtual space by moving a person's gaze is called "eye writing," which is a promising tool for various human-computer interface applications. This paper investigates the use of conventional eye writing recognition algorithms for the purpose of user-independent recognition of eye-written characters. Two algorithms are presented to build the user-independent system: eye-written region extraction using wavelet coefficients and template generation. The experimental results of the proposed system demonstrated that with dynamic positional warping, an F1 score of 79.61% was achieved for 12 eye-written patterns, thereby indicating the possibility of user-independent use of eye writing.

Mid-Infrared Luminosity Function of Local Galaxies in the North Ecliptic Pole Region

  • We present observational estimation of the infrared (IR) luminosity function (LF) of local (z < 0.3) star-forming (SF) galaxies derived from the AKARI NEP-Wide samples. We made an analysis of the NEP-Wide data with optical spectroscopic information allowing an accurate determination of luminosity function. Spectroscopic redshifts for about 1650 objects were obtained with MMT/Hectospec and WIYN/Hydra, and the median redshifts is about 0.22. To measure the contribution of SF galaxies to the luminosity function, we excluded AGN sample by comparing their SEDs with various model template. Spectroscopic redshifts and the AKARI's continuous filter coverage in the mid-IR (MIR) wavelength (2 ~ 25 micron) enable us to avoid large uncertainties from the mid-IR SED of galaxies and corresponding k-corrections. The 8-micron luminosity function shows a good agreement with the previous works in the bright-end, whereas it seems not easy to constrain the faint-end slope. The comparison with the results of the NEP-Deep data (Goto et al. 2010) suggests the luminosity evolution to the higher redshifts, which is consistent with the down-sizing evolutionary pattern of galaxies.

  • 본 논문은 손등의 정맥패턴을 이용한 개인식별을 위해 개발된 3가지의 알고리즘에 관해 각각의 성능을 비교한 결과를 제시한다. 세가지 방법은 각각 Unsharp Masking을 이용한 이치화 후 정맥과 손등 배경의 면적을 이용한 가중치를 적용한 원형정합 알고리즘[1]과 Kolmogorov Smirnov(KS) statistic[2]을 이용한 매칭 알고리즘을 개선한 방식, 그리고 정맥의 세선화 처리 후 분기점의 좌표, 정맥의 길이, 정맥 가지 사이의 분기각도 등의 특징벡터를 이용한 방법 등이다. 본 연구에서는 전처리 과정에 있어서, 원시영상의 혈관부위와 배경부위의 gray scale 분포가 겹친 상태에서 Unsharp Masking 필터링을 적용한 결과가 기타 다른 전처리 방식보다 우수하게 영상을 강화시킬 수 있음을 확인하였고, 가중치를 이용한 매칭방식이 다른 매칭방식보다 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, a new high-powerfactor control method for boost-type rectifier is proposed, which removes the necessity of input current sensing. This method generates a sinewave duty template only from the line voltage waveform and rectifier output, and reduces reactive power remarkably utilizing three compensation coefficients which are determined through experiments. These compensations make the input current to be in phase with the input voltage all over the load range. A prototype boost-type rectifier is designed and experimental results are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 열화된 이미지상에서의 자동 패턴 분할을 위해 농담 정규화 정합(NGC)법과 다중 템플레이트를 이용하여 검사 이미지내의 각 문자의 정합 계수치 합을 이용한 문자나 패턴을 자동으로 분할(segmentation)하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 전통적인 NGC를 사용하는 검사 알고리즘은 기준 패턴의 기하학적인 level 값에 의해 계산되어 지기 때문에 검사 이미지의 획득이 불완전하다면 정합의 부독율(reject rate)은 높아진다. 제안한 알고리즘은 가시화가 좋지 않은 영상 회득 시 문자부와 배경부를 효과적으로 자동으로 분류하며 이미지 영역내의 정보와 정규화 된 상관관계를 이용하여 실제 영상에 적용시켜 제안된 알고리즘의 검증을 목표로 한다.
