The purpose of this study was to compare high-school students importance and performance toward restaurant service attributes for the marketing strategy development. Specific objectives were to: a) investigate restaurant patronage characteristics of high school students; b) identify the difference of patronage behavior among three types of restaurants; and c) analyze the importance and performance among three types of restaurants. A questionnaire was developed and hand-delivered to 400 students enrolled 9th grade in 4 different high schools in Seoul. A total of 320 students (80%) was responded to this study. The questionnaire was composed of two parts with 47 restaurant service attribute statements. Results of this study were as follows: 1. A total of 57% was female and 61% of respondents spent less than ₩5,000 per week on eating out. 2. The frequency of visiting the low-priced restaurant was 8.9 times per week. 3. Reasons for being a patronage to low- (${\geq}$₩2,000) and mid-priced ( <₩2,000 and ${\geq}$₩5,000) restaurants were hunger, appointment, and seeking favorites with freinds but the reason for high-priced (<₩5,000) restaurants was celebrating special days with parents. 4. The main source of information for selecting restaurants was family and friends, T.V. advertising, and bulletin board. 5. For the low-priced restaurants, food, hygiene, price, and location were rated as important; location, price, menu, and food were rated as satisfied. 6. For the mid-priced restaurants, hygiene, food, price, and menu were rated as important; food, hygiene, service, and menu were rated as satisfied. 7. For the high-priced restaurants, hygiene, food, and atmosphere were rated as important; food, hygiene, atmosphere, and menu were as satisfied. 8. According to paired t-test, the score gap between importance and performance was the highest in the hygiene attribute; differences were high with the low-priced and low with high-priced restaurants.

The purposes of this study were 1) to reveal the consumer's brand loyalty on clothing, 2) to identify the relationships between the consumer's clothing brand loyalty and consumer characteristics, product characteristics, and consumer's clothing buying behavior. Subjects were selected from the employed and unemployed housewives living in Taejon. A questionnaire was developed and administered by 316 housewives during Spring in 1992. Data were analysed by frequency, Pearson's correlation coefficient, regression and oneway- ANOVA. The result.; of the study were as follows: 1) The half of subjects had brand loyalty on clothing. 2) The relationships between consumer's clothing brand loyalty and housewives' and her husbands 'educational level and average income of a month were significant. Consumer's clothing brand loyalty and housewives 'age had significantly negative relationship. 3) Consumer's clothing brand loyalty was significantly related to price of clothing. 4) The relationships between consumer's clothing brand loyalty and satisfaction toward brands, and the store patronage behavior were significant. The relationships between consumer's clothing brand loyalty and her prepurchase information search behavior, and the amount of purchasing of clothing were not significant.

The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between consumer's economic environments and clothing buying behaviors. Consumer's economical environments can be identified as the influence of IMF and subjective social classes. And clothing buying behavior can be defined such as clothing buying motives, informants, clothing selective standards, price, patronage store in terms of consumer decision making process. This study was carried out in theoretical and empirical ways. The questionnaire was administered to 375 university students living in seoul during the April, 1998. The results of empirical study were as follows; First, Consumer's individual characteristics are proven to be significantly related to the influence of IMF and subjective social classes. Second, the influence of IMF is proven to be significantly correlated to the clothing buying behavior. Third, the subjective social classes is proven to be partially related to the clothing buying behavior.
Purpose: In view of increased social awareness of today's consumers, it is very important to understand how retail customers perceive their sense of social responsibility. This study aims to explore the decision processes of university students that affect the patronage of social enterprises in retail sector. Research design, data and methodology: This study proposes and tests whether and how social network traits, firm's image, and perceived trustworthiness serve as predictors of value co-creation behavior specific to two different industries (social enterprises and regular firms) operating in retail sector of South Korea. This study incorporated theoretical premise of value co-creation to verify the structural relationships among the predictors of value co-creation. Results: The result demonstrates that social network and firm's image both significantly influence consumers' value co-creation behavior. The study further found that the firm's image is overall more effective for eliciting consumers' value co-creation behavior than social network traits. Conclusions: As the result of comparing the industry type (social enterprises vs. regular firms), the study confirmed a meaningful difference such that consumers indicated greater impact of firm's image on value co-creation for social enterprises than for regular firms. The findings are expected to provide useful industrial insights for the management of social enterprises.
The purpose of this study was to compare clothing attitude and clothing purchase behavior of two age groups of adult men,- college students and middle aged. Four aspects of clothing attitude (fashion interest, status symbol, conformity, practicality/comfort) were assessed with 20 Likert type questionnaires adapted from the previous researches. Four aspects of purchase behavior(information sources used, store patronage, importance of store attributes, clothing selection creteria for occasions) were measured with forced choice questionnaire developed or adapted from previous researches. The questionnaire were administrated to 512 male college students and middle aged men. The data were analysed using frequency, percentage, and t-test. The major findings drawn from this study were as follows : 1. Clothing comfort among four aspects of clothing attitude according to the age group was that middle-aged men showed higher conformity than college students. 2. For the information source for apparel purchase, college students used consumer dominated information source while middle-aged men used market dominated information source. 3. For apparel purchase, students preferred brand franchise store, and factory outlet/off-price store, while middle-aged preferred department store and custom-made. Among six store attributes, convenience and price were the most important attributes to the students, while convenience and high quality to the middle aged. 4. The most important clothing selection creteria for formal occasion (job interview, wedding ceremony) was dignity. Comfort/practicality were important creteria for both of leisure occasion and daily attendance (office, school).
The purpose of this study was to explore consumers' experiences in one used market site. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted for the 8 consumers who were members of the used market site. In the study methodology, the grounded theory designed by Strauss and Corbin was utilized. From the analysis results, 23 subcategories and 11 categories were created. In the axial coding, the following paradigm model was proposed: 1) the casual conditions were "the pond of information" and "underground market," 2) the contextual conditions were "inconsistent behavior" and "error of communication", 3) the central phenomenon was "non-ethic behavior of seller/buyer, 4) the intervening conditions were "induction of intimacy", "use of patronage", and "creation of network", 5) the action/interaction strategy was "being shrewd", and 6) the consequence was "adaptation/non-adaptation". In selective coding, the core category was "to adapt of non-ethic behaviors through being shrewd." Based on the core category, the following four types of process of adaptation of the used market site were found: "A selfish addict," "An advanced utilitarian", "A hard philosopher," and "A cynical dropout".

The purpose of this study was to classify college women according to the general life style, to examine the differences in the characteristics of time consumption, and clothing purchasing behavior, and ultimately to verify the importance of the time variable in life style analysis. 449 subjects were gathered through convenience sampling method and, frequency, precentage, average, $x^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis were conducted for data analysis. Results of the study were as follows : 1. College women were classified into five subgroups by cluster analysis : fashion-pursuit group, home-intended group, outer-intended group, conservative-economy group, and passive-inactive group. 2. In case of time consumption patterns, significant differences were found according to the different groups in patronage of library and extra off-campus educational programs, participation in household duties, consumption patterns of leisure time and participation in clubs. 3. In case of clothing purchasing behavior, significant differences were found according to the different groups in clothing purchasing motives, information sources, purchasing plan, the number of visited stores, and the confirmation of labels.

This study examined the fashion lifestyle of Chinese women in their 20s and analyzed the purchasing behavior of clothing and attitudes toward the Korean image, Korean Wave, Korean fashion, and preference for Korean fashion brands according to a fashion lifestyle. The major results were as follows: 1) Fashion lifestyle was comprised of factors for the pursuit of personality, pursuit of aesthetic, pursuit of brand, and pursuit of economy. The cluster analysis classified them into groups of: Economy/Personality Oriented, Aesthetic/Brand Oriented, and Fashion-Indifferent. 2) Information source and store patronage were different among the three consumer groups. 3) Attitude toward the Korean image, Korean Wave, Korean fashion, and preference for Korean fashion brands were different among the three consumer groups. These results can be used as the basic data or information for fashion companies that are developing marketing strategies for Chinese women in their 20s.

This study examined the life style of Korean-Chinese co]loge students in YnBian region of China and analyzed the purchasing behavior of clothing according to the life styles. The sample consisted of 296 undergraduate students of the YanBian University in China. The Questionnaires were used to collect the data and the data were analyzed by Sequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, $X^{2}-test$ and ANOVA. The major results were as follows : 1) Results of factor analysis showed that life styles of the respondents could be classified into 5 factors: the ostentatious sense factor, positive activity factor, circumspective economy factor, self-repletion factor and information conformity factor. 2) The respondents were divided into five groups according to the life styles; active shoppers, conspicuous compulsives, economic planners, self indulgers, and conspicuous planners. 3) Evaluative criteria in purchasing clothing, information sources and store patronage, differed among the five consumer groups. Especially, the conspicuous planners group differed from other groups in al1 aspects. 4) Gender, major, income and allowance were not significantly different among the groups. But, there were more one-child respondent in the ostentatious planned group, while planned consumer group had more respondents who were not one-child in their families.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the differences in clothing consumption behaviors among female consumer groups in their twenties and to understand the type of consumer group pursuing fast fashion. Questionnaire survey was conducted to 230 female consumers residing in Seoul and Kyung Gi area from June 18 to 29 in 2007, and 178 were used for data analysis. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 12 program on the reliability test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. Factors analyses were employed for the attitude toward fashion and shopping, and shopping motives. Four factors were formulated for the attitude toward fashion: interest in fashion, fashion-orientation, fashion leadership and fashion conformity. Six factors for the attitude toward shopping were found: information searching, shopping enjoyment, store patronage, impulse buying, brand-orientation and convenience. Buying motives for fashion goods were classified into 3 factors: for matching & occasion, to-be-in-fashion and for necessity. Four clusters were identified based on the attitude toward fashion: the fashion-interested, the fashion-indifferent, fashion leaders and the individuality-oriented. Among the groups, significant differences were found in information searching, shopping enjoyment and store patronage. Fashion leaders tended to spend more for expensive and up-to-dated fashion items, and for higher quantity than other groups. Consequently fashion leaders showed attractive customer characteristics for the fast fashion companies.
