In July, 2000, A 71-year-old man complained of these symptoms: frequent defecation, urgent need to defecate, fecal leakage, anal pain, flatus, and diarrhea after surgery for colorectal cancer. The symptoms are caused specifically by injury to the bowel and sphincter function. The patient suffered physically and psychologically; but, there was no special treatment in western medicine. Therefore, we treated him with electrical acupuncture for the management of sphincter tone and the alleviation of anal pain. We also treated him with herbal medicine for the recovery of strength and gastro-colic function. As a consequence of these treatments, the bowel disorders improved immediately and successfully, even though there were some limitations. So, We report this case with a brief review of related literatures.
Recently, several investigations revealed that after unilateral brain damage, movement abnormalities were exposed on the ipsilateral side as well as the upper extremity contralateral to the damaged hemisphere. Even the motor abilities had significantly recovered from ipsilateral motor deficits on not only simple sensoriomotor function, also clinical assessments since subacute stage, although could not completely returned. Such motor deficits were detected in a diversity of motor tasks depending on the interhemispheric specialization, further in clinical evaluation and a daily of activities. In the clinical features, muscular weakness, sensory loss and impaired manual dexterity were observed. In a laboratory experiment, there were increasing evidences that the kinematic processing deficits was founded in various-specific motor tasks, which ranged from simple basic element to complex tasks, such as tapping task, step-tracking, goal directional aiming task, and iso(and non-)directional interlimb coordination. In the point of view, the manifest understanding in related to ipsilateral deficits provide the clinicians with an important information for scientific management about brain injured patient's prognosis and therapeutic guidelines.
Chemotherapy has many known side effects. Neuropathy is a common side effect when using cisplatin. The clinical course varies and depends on the agents used and their cumulative dose. Although symptoms can resolve completely, in most patients chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy is either only partially reversible or completely irreversible. Current management for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy is symptomatic relief using membrane stabilizing medications and antidepressants. Dysaesthesia and pain involving the feet and hands are described in traditional korean medicine. In traditional korean medicine, the pathogenesis is related to the inability to direct Qi and Blood to the extremities, and is associated with Qi, Blood, Yang and Kidney deficiencies. We report a case of a 52 years old female patient treated with acupuncture and bleeding treatment for the goal of improving the symptoms of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. Further study and other medical method will be needed in order to improve the effect and determine the long-term effect of traditional korean medicine in treating Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy.

Cloud computing services changed the way the data are managed across the healthcare system that can improve patient care. Currently, most healthcare organizations are using cloud-based applications and related services to deliver better healthcare facilities. But architecting a cloud-based healthcare system needs deep knowledge about the working nature of these services and the requirements of the healthcare environment. The success is based on the usage of appropriate cloud services in the architecture to manage the data flow across the healthcare system.Cloud service providers offer a wide variety of services to ingest, store and process healthcare data securely. The top three public cloud providers- Amazon, Google, and Microsoft offers advanced cloud services for the solution that the healthcare industry is looking for. This article proposes a framework that can effectively utilize cloud services to handle the data flow among the various stages of the healthcare infrastructure. The useful cloud services for ingesting, storing and analyzing the healthcare data for the proposed framework, from the top three cloud providers are listed in this work. Finally, a cloud-based healthcare architecture using Amazon Cloud Services is constructed for reference.
Purpose. The current study was aimed to investigate the transformational experience of a female student nurse living with type 1 diabetes. Methods. A case study of a 24-year-old diabetes patient was conducted, with interviews concerning the evolving process she had lived through during the period from her later high school years to her graduation from nursing college. Results. Followings were identified as 5-transformation process: With her diabetes-related limitation, the participant experienced 'conflict involving choosing a college and major'. The participant tried to be in charge of managing her diabetes and stepped forward to 'adaptation to college life as a new environment', and she learned more about the process of 'evolving awareness of caring' and developed herself further through the process of 'integration of the nurse identity into self-identity', and finally through the process of 'progression and preparation for getting a job' she achieved her goals, being positive about the future. Conclusions. The results of the study can provide individuals with diabetes a way of self-management and help the patients and their families in diabetes education. Further research will be needed to refine the results of this study and to learn more about the experiences of patients with type I diabetes in college years.
The primary purpose of this study was to analysis quantitatively the degree of injury and/or the progress of treatment for physical impairment. This study provided a more detailed study that evaluates all test parameters including maximum grip strength, duration of operation, average grip strength, acceleration work, dynamic endurance time and percent change in static endurance. Also, a complete database management system is developed and used to store related training, evaluation, and personal information. In addition, the system is developed a grip sensor using load.cell transducer (${\leq}60kg$). The system will be efficient to operate and convenient to use, furthermore, it can be helped for understanding and analysis the progress of a patient during a doctor's rehabilitation program.

Due to the increasing quantity of health services demand a wide range of growing medical markets and hospital through advanced, diversification can meet the needs of the patient. This hospital is having the introduction of expensive medical equipment. Because of this, hospitals are struggling to operate the hospital management. Therefore, when operating at the hospital before and after introduction of the most important factor in the interests of medical equipment through the analysis is directly related to hospital operations. CT study of the local clinics, or CR 40 where members of the medical equipment with 54 points against selected practitioners and hospital visits and interviews to investigate the expected benefits of each of the members raised an average of seven months to identify revenue performance caused by interests. Raised against the expected benefits resulting benefits to the overall average 87.43% did not meet the expected benefits. The hospital plans to introduce future when reviewing the medical equipment in consideration of the characteristics of the equipment requires a more solid plan, and whether the plan is properly implemented will be needed for the institutional verification capabilities.
The purpose of this survey was to investigate eating habits, life styles and nutritional care of diabetic outpatients and to provide basic data for developing individualized nutritional care and diabetic education programs. This survey was carried out by nutritional counseling with a questionnaire and checking medical record. Information about the general characteristics of the subjects, eating habits, health-related life styles and attitude and perception of subjects to diet therapy was gathered from 200 randomly-sampled diabetic outpatients at a University Hospital located in Inchon. All data were analyzed by Statistical Analysis System(SAS) software. The results are summarized as follows : Female subjects were 63.5% of total subjects and 65.5% of total subjects were 50 years or more. The average Body Mas Index(BMI) of male and female subjects were 23.06kg/㎡ and 25.02kg/㎡ respectively and 44% of all subjects wee obese.
