Objective: The aim of study was to investigate the effects of season and single layer centrifugation (SLC) before cryopreservation on post-thaw bull sperm quality in Thailand. Methods: Semen was collected from 6 bulls (Bos indicus) in summer, rainy season and winter 2014 through 2016. Semen characteristics, sperm morphology, sperm kinematics, viability, chromatin structure and mitochondrial membrane were evaluated. Meteorological data were available from the local meteorological station; Results: Season had an effect on semen characteristics in the raw ejaculate, with higher proportions of normal spermatozoa and lower abnormalities in winter than in the other two seasons. Sperm kinematics, viability, DNA fragmentation index, and mitochondrial membrane potential were not different between seasons. Sperm samples selected by SLC had greater normal morphology and a lower proportion with bent tails than controls and higher values of progressive motility (PRO), beat cross frequency, linearity, straightness, wobble (WOB), and lower values of slow motility, velocity average path (VAP), velocity curved line, and amplitude of lateral head displacement than controls. In addition, SLC-selection had a favorable effect on PRO, VAP, and WOB that differed among seasons. Conclusion: Our results suggested that these bulls were well adapted to their location, with season having an effect on sperm morphology. Moreover, SLC could be used prior to cryopreservation, regardless of season, to enhance normal morphology and kinematics of bull sperm samples without adversely affecting other parameters of sperm quality. However, there was considerable variation among bulls in DNA fragmentation index, mitochondrial membrane potential and sperm viability. In addition, SLC had a positive effect on sperm morphology and sperm kinematics, which could be expected to influence fertility.

This study was designed to evaluate the morphology of the temporomandibular joint components and dentofacial characteristics of patients with clicking and painful temporomadibular joint. The materials consisted of 80 conventional pantomographs in normal an symptomatic individuals aged 18-23 and divided into 2 groups by symptom of temporomandibular joint. The results were as follows; 1. In morphologic analysis of condylar head, type Ⅰ (anterior, posterior smooth curve) was most dominant in both group(58.75%, 55.0%) and asymmetrical condylar shape was predominant in symptomatic group (18 cases, 45%). 2. In symptomatic group, the condylar width were slightly lesser and the ratio of condylar height to height of condyle-ramus were larger than those of normal group. 3. Vertical overlap of central incisor of symptomatic group was slightly larger than that of normal group. There was significant differences between each group in mandibular midline deviation. 4. The symptomatic group tended to steep mandibular plane angle and the degree of condylar path and condylar axis of normal group were larger than those of symptomatic group. 5. The condylar width was inversely correlated with inclination of condylar path and inclination of condylar path was correlated with condylar axis in both groups.
Digital holographic microscopy allows optical path difference measurement. Optical path difference depends on both the refractive index and the morphology of the sample. When interference fringes are very closely spaced, the phase data contain high frequencies where $2{\pi}$ ambiguities cannot be resolved. The immersion testing method, which is a transmission test while the sample is immersed in liquid, is very effective in reducing high frequency fringes in transmission measurements so that large dynamic range testing is possible for a non-null configuration. We developed a digital holographic microscope using liquid that can measure the high numerical aperture aspheric morphology of a sample. This system provides highly precise three-dimensional information on the sample. By improving the experimental method, choosing liquids which have similar refractive index to the sample, we can measure more accurate three-dimensional information on the samples.

Compound verbs in Korean show properties of both syntactic phrases and lexical items. Earlier studies of compound verbs have either assumed two homonymous types, i.e. one as a syntactic phrase and the other as a lexical item, or posited some sort of transformation from a syntactic phrase into a lexical item. In this paper, I show empirical and conceptual problems for earlier studies, and present an alternative account in terms of Talmy's (2000) theory of lexicalization. Unlike Talmy who proposed [Path] conflation into [MOVE] for Korean, I suggest several types of [Co-Event] conflation; e.g. [$_{Co-Event}$ Manner] conflation as in kwul-e-kata 'to go by rolling', [$_{Co-Event}$ Concomitance] conflation as in ttal-a-kata 'to follow', [$_{Co-Event}$ Concurrent Result] conflation as in cap-a-kata 'to catch somebody and go', etc. The present proposal not only places Korean compound verbs in a broader picture of cross-linguistic generalizations, but, when viewed from Jackendoff's (1997) productive vs. semi-productive morphology, provides a natural account for classifying the compounds that allow -se intervention from those that do not.

It requires uch time and cost to obtain the fatigue crack growth life and fatigue crack growth path morphlogy from the fatigue crack growth tests. In this study, the Monte-Carlo simulation program was developed to predict the fatigue crack growth lofe and fatigue crack growth path morphology of metal matrix composites. Fatigue crack growth lives of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% $SiC_w$/Al composites were predicted by usign the Monte-Carlo Simulation. And the fatigue crack growth lives of 25% $SiC_w$/Al and Almatrix from Monte-carlo simulation were compared with fatigue life from experiments in order to verify the accuracy of Monte-Carlo Simulation program.
Residual stress is a dominant obstacle to efficient production and safe usage of products by reducing the mechanical strength and failure properties. Especially, it causes interfacial failure and substrate deflection in the case of thin film. So, the exact evaluation and optimum control of thin film residual stress is indispensable. However, hole drilling or X-ray diffraction techniques have some limits in application to thin film. And, curvature technique for thin film materials cannot give the information about local stress variation. Therefore, we applied the nanoindentation technique in evaluating the thin film residual stress. In this study, we modeled the change of indentation loading curve for residually stressed and stress-free thin films during stress relaxation. The value of residual stress was directly related to the indentation depth change by relaxation. The residual stress from nanoindentation analysis was consistent with the result from curvature technique.
Tardive dyskinesia is an involuntary neurological movement disorder caused by long-term use of dopamine receptor-blocking drugs leading to dental implications like uncontrolled gnashing and grinding of teeth which in turn imperil the oral rehabilitation procedures as the excessive load increases the risk of prosthesis fracture. A 40-year male with a medical history of tardive dyskinesia visited the hospital to receive oral rehabilitation for missing maxillary anterior teeth. After the oral examination, tooth preparation was done on teeth 13, 15, and 23. After that silicon impression was made and the gypsum cast was digitalized using a desktop scanner and an interim prosthesis was fabricated by milling a resin block. During the try-in, the occlusal one-third of the interim prosthesis was trimmed, and an auto-polymerizing acrylic resin was applied on the occlusal surfaces and inserted in the patient's mouth. Then, the functionally generated path (FGP) of occluding surfaces of opposing arches was traced on the resin surface. When the resin was hardened, the modified interim prosthesis was removed and digitized using an intraoral scanner. The scan image was used in designing the occlusal morphology of definitive prosthesis by modifying the design of the interim prosthesis using the dual scan method. Lastly, a monolithic zirconia prosthesis was fabricated by milling a zirconia block. The definitive prosthesis was delivered reflecting the patient's occlusal scheme. This case report shows that the FGP technique with the dual scan method can help in fabricating fixed prosthesis with harmonious occlusion in a tardive dyskinesia patient.

Cast Nafion-based composite membranes containing different amounts of organic, nanorod-shaped polyrotaxane were prepared and characterized, with the aim of improving the properties of polymer electrolyte membranes for direct methanol fuel cell applications. Polyrotaxane was prepared using the inclusion-complex reaction between ${\alpha}$-cyclodextrin and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) of different molecular weights. The addition of polyrotaxane to Nafion changed the morphology and reduced the crystallinity. The conductivity of the composite membranes increased with increasing polyrotaxane content up to 5 wt%, but then decreased at higher polyrotaxane contents. Well-dispersed, organic polyrotaxane inside the membrane can provide a tortuous path for the transport of methanol, as the methanol permeability depends on the aspect ratio of polyrotaxane, which is controlled by the molecular weight of PEG. All of the Nafion-based, polyrotaxane composite membranes showed a higher selectivity parameter than the commercial Nafion films did.
The morphology of deposits on $15-{\mu}m$ thin SiC filaments has been investigated with SEM in a co-flowing, propane/air laminar diffusion flame. The average size of mature soot particles deposited in the luminous flame edge is strongly dependent on their axial position in a typical heavily sooting flame. The surface growth of liquid-phase PAHs molecules and the transition to soots from fully-developed precursors could be observed in the radial deposition of the flame. Two sooting regimes were found: one is the transition from the condensed-phase precursors; the other is the aggregation of smaller soot particles (or chains of them) to be carried along particle path lines. In the high temperature flame edge outside the soot luminous flame surface, the very thin fiber-like structures, which are about 10 nm thick, were found.
Effect of the laser shot number on the particulates density of the pulsed laser deposited YBa2Cu3O7-x thin films and the laser irradiated surface morphology of the YBa2Cu3O7-x bulk target have been investigated. Until 100 laser shots of cumulative irradiation, the films has the particulates density of ~103 mm-2. However, after 100 laser shots, the density was increased more than 10 times. This results has been explained by the change of particulate ejection path with the development of conical structure at the target surface.
