특허전략연구는 경영전략, 기술전략과 연계된 특허전략을 수립하고, 이를 구체화하기 위해 특허 Idea 발굴에서 출원 관리, 제품 및 개발과제의 조사/분석과 활용을 위한 라이선싱 등을 효율화하는 논의에 집중해 왔다. 그러나 수립된 특허 전략의 내재화 및 성과를 높이기 위한 기업 고유의 문화를 고려하거나 이를 반영한 특허전략 수립 연구는 매우 부족하였다. 그 결과 기업들은 업종과 조직문화가 고려되지 않은 일류 선진 기업의 특허전략을 자사 전략으로 모방하는 정도에 머물고 있었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 조직문화를 4개의 프레임워크로 구분하는 경쟁가치모형(Competing Value Model)을 바탕으로 기업의 특허전략 모형을 제안한다. 사례 연구를 통해 특허전략 유형을 검증하고 기업의 조직문화에 따른 적합한 특허전략을 제시한다. 본 연구는 특허전략에 대해 새로운 관점인 조직문화 이론을 바탕으로 논의하였다는 점과 실무적 활용성이 높은 전략모형을 제시한다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

Due to sudden transition to intellectual society corresponding with fast technology progress, companies and nations need to focus on development and guarantee of intellectual property. The possession of intellectual property has been the important factor of competition power. In this paper we developed the efficient patent search process with big data analysis tool R. This patent search process consists of 5 steps. We result that at first this process obtain the core patent search key words and search the target patents through search formula using the combination of above patent search key words.

This study intends to examine the effect of research and development (R&D) expenditure effects on firm value through patent and earing persistence. The patent is the representative intangible asset which objectively indicates a typical product of research and development activities to external parties. If a firm has acquired the patent, it receives amicable evaluation from the market compared to the firm which has not acquired patent. Empirical analysis is performed for non-banking firms (1,860 firm-years) listed on Korean Stock Exchange with December fiscal year-end over 2004-2009. Research results are as follows. First, the multiple pricing of patent acquiring firm and earing persistence increased group showed that they have higher prices than the other groups. Second, the multiple pricing of R&D expenditures of earing persistence increased group showed that they have higher prices than the other group. Third, the R&D expenditures of earing persistence increased group is receiving more friendly evaluation from the stock market than the other group.

Now days, firm's technology capability is recognized as important factor to forecast and to evaluate firm's business performance. There are many efforts to develop useful indicators by applying patent information that includes concrete description about technology. Many previous studies analyzed relationship between patent indicators and firm's performance. But they didn't consider time gap between a point of firm's invention activity and a point of firm's performance improvement. They didn't considered a character of industrial fields either. To overcome these limitations, we selected IT industry for target analysis industry. Time-series patent data and financial data from 41 American IT firms between 2000 and 2011 were used to analyze. In this study, We empirically analyzed subsequent effect of patent indicators on firm's business performance by using correlation analysis and regression analysis.

특허의 사적 가치(private value)를 나타내는 특허수명 추정은 오래전부터 연구되었으나 추정과정에서 선형모델에 의존하는 경우가 대부분이었고, 기계학습 방법을 사용하더라도 변수 간 관계에 대한 해석이나 설명이 부족하였다. 본 연구에서는 특허의 생존 기간이 특허의 가치를 대리한다는 기존 연구결과를 바탕으로 특허 등록 이후의 생존 기간(연장횟수) 예측을 통해 특허의 가치를 추정한다. 이를 위해 1996~2017년까지 미국 특허청(USPTO)에 출원하여 등록된 특허 4,033,414개를 수집하였다. 특허수명을 예측하기 위해 기존 연구에서 특허수명에 영향을 미친다고 밝혀진 특허의 특성, 특허의 소유자 특성, 특허의 발명가 특성을 반영할 수 있는 다양한 변수가 사용되었다. 서로 다른 4개의 모델(Ridge Regression, Random Forest, Feed-forward Neural Network, Gradient Boosting Models)을 생성하고, 모델 학습 과정에서는 5-fold Cross Validation으로 초매개변수 조정이 이루어졌다. 이후 생성된 모델의 성능을 평가하고 특허수명을 추정할 수 있는 예측변수의 상대적 중요도를 제시하였다. 또한, 성능이 우수했던 Gradient Boosting Model을 기반으로 Accumulated Local Effects Plot을 제시하여 예측변수와 특허수명 간 관계를 시각적으로 나타내었다. 마지막으로 모델에 의해서 평가된 개별 특허의 평가 근거를 제시하기 위하여 Kernal SHAP(SHapley Additive exPlanations)을 적용하고 특허평가 시스템에의 적용 가능성을 제시한다. 본 연구는 기존에 특허수명을 추정하는 연구에 누적적으로 기여한다는 점 그리고 선형성을 바탕으로 진행된 기존 특허수명 추정 연구들의 한계를 보완하고 복잡한 비선형 관계를 설명가능한 방식으로 제시하였다는 점에서 학문적 의의가 있다. 또한, 개별 특허의 평가 근거를 도출하는 방법을 소개하고 특허평가 시스템에의 적용 가능성을 제시하였다는 점에서 실무적 의의가 있다.

Purpose - Corporate patent management refers to an organization belonging to the government or an intergovernmental organization that plays a bigger role in controlling patents. The purpose of the present study is to investigate and suggest brief solutions regarding how companies should manage their patents, maximizing their commercial values. Research design, Data, and methodology - Since the current researcher needed to optimize authenticity, the datasets were used primarily for collecting data from various sources examined by peers. This research used a claim from PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis) to identify prior studies within the limits of the sample. Result - The results revealed that corporate patent management is faced with different problems in the course of its operations. It faces many different critics from the outside world; therefore, a need to solve those problems. This study strongly suggests there are seven solutions to manage companies' patents. Conclusion - The conclusion of this study points out that The prolonged period has given some business organizations a competitive advantage over others especially that belong to industries that have a lower propensity to adopt patent rights. As a result, some business organizations have grown relatively faster than others within the long period they remain as patent rights members.

This paper proposes an approach to analyzing the relationship between technology and services, and to identifying promising service areas for technology-based firms with the analysis of business model (BM) patents. First, BM patents and technology patents are collected and classified into their relevant categories, respectively. Second, patent citation analysis is conducted to analyze the linkage and impacts between each technology and service field at macro level. Third, as a micro level analysis, patent co-classification analysis is employed to identify the interrelationships among specific technology and service areas. Finally, the promising service areas for technology-based firms seeking service areas for diversification is investigated with portfolio analysis. The working of the proposed approach is provided with the help of a case study of IT and mobile services. The proposed approach could guide and help managers of technology-based firms to discover the opportunity of the diversification to new areas in emerging service fields.

지식기반사회에서는 국가 경쟁력은 핵심원천기술의 보유여부가 크게 좌우한다. 국내 기업들이나 국가출연연구원들은 우수특허를 많이 확보하고 있으나 이러한 특허들은 대개 경쟁적인 등록으로 인해 상용화되기 어렵다. 또한 관리대상 특허들이 많아 매년 많은 유지비용을 부담한다. 따라서 체계적인 산업재산권의 관리에 대한 연구의 필요성에 따라 웹상에서 전문평가위원들의 특허 평가와 관리자의 효율적 관리가 가능한 특허관리시스템을 구현하였다.

특허의 피인용 수는 특허의 질적 가치와 기업의 가치와 긍정적인 상관관계가 있으며, 특허의 질적 가치를 나타내는 지표 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 특허의 피인용 수에 영향을 끼치는 주요 요인을 살펴보기 위하여, 국제특허분류코드인 IPC가 다양한 분야인 자동차 산업을 대상으로, 글로벌 상위 자동차 업체 14개사의 미국 특허 47,354건에 대하여 음이항 모델 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과, 출원후 경과년도, 특허의 청구항 수, 특허 패밀리 국가 수, 특허 패밀리 수, IPC 코드의 총 수뿐만 아니라, IPC 다양성 수가 특허의 피인용 수에 긍정적인 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후, 대학, 연구소 및 기업의 기술이전이나 라이선싱을 위한 전략을 세우는 데 있어서, IPC 다양성 지표를 함께 고려할 수 있는 기초적 근거를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

In foreign countries, high-efficiency electric machineries have been developed in view of cost reduction, environmental issues, energy conservation etc. Especially they focus on developing energy conservation measures and demand-side management. Thus, patent application and secure of patent claims are on the rise as important issues in this field. In this paper, we analyzed patent application trends about inverters, ac/dc converters, reactive power control equipments, high-efficiency transformers and electric ballasts among high-efficiency electric machineries. First, we analyzed general technology trends, and constructed patent technology data. Second, we graphed patent application trends in terms of application years, assignees and nations.
