Unlike domestic railway transportation system in which majority of station are equipped with gate access controller and ticket office, it has been a very common practice in overseas railway transit or railway station that they use a pressure door mat, infrared-sensors or CCTV cameras so as to automatically determine the number of passenger onboard and alight and to reflect the information to their business (i.e., deployment of vehicles and human resources). The data collected by the automatic passenger counting (APC) system provides methods how to obtain the information about the number of passenger using the vehicles on the basis of date, time and stop(station) which enables large-scaled transit company to create profits through effective vehicle deployment and management of their employees. This paper addresses the basic features of the automatic passenger counting system using infrared sensor and describes those of the extended APC system in conjunction with wireless technologies such as GPS, WLAN or Cellular network.

In this paper, the details of electronically controlled CVT is described , which Kia Motor company recently developed in prototype form for hybrid passenger car. This transmission has two input shafts, one for engine and the other for traction motor. The shaft for traction motor is located at rear side which is extended from primary pulley shaft and connected to traction motor through adapter gear box. Adopting two input system, various driving mode is available such as motor alone driving in hybrid vehicle application. As far as electrohydraulic system concerned , this transmission uses two bleed type variable force solenoids for line pressure and ratio control, and one on-off solenoid for clutch control. Another feature for this transmission is that oil pump for transmission is separate from CVT for supplying oil pressure even at vehicle standstill.

The objective of this study is to investigate the cooling characteristics of a heat sink for an LED headlight used in passenger cars. To this end, this study conducts the experimental and numerical analysis of the heat sink heated at constant heat fluxes without air flow applied. In the experiments, heat was transferred at a constant heat flux through the bottom of a heat sink. The measured temperature on pre-selected locations of the heat sink was in good agreement with the numerically predicted one. The experimental and numerical results indicate that the convective heat transfer coefficient for the natural convection mode was decreased by increasing the heat flux applied to the bottom of heat sink, lowering the cooling capabilities.

The virbration characteristics of a passenger car steering column are studied by using a modal test and a finite element (FE) analysis. To verify the FE model and the results, an experiment using the impact exciting method is performed. Two types of the steering column in this study are considered as follows; (ⅰ) the non-tilt type steering column and (ⅱ) the upper-tilt type steering column. The experimental results are compared with those o the FE analysis, and it ti shown that the results agree with each other. The effects of various design parameters such as the bracket thickness, the column diameter on the natural frequencies are also investigated by FE analysis.

This paper gives the information for fault and malfunction of the Elevator for the passenger. For analyzing the fault and malfunction of the elevator equipment we research the report of fault and malfunction which is written by ATP electric director and Elevator maintenance company during recently one year. We analyze the number of fault and malfunction according to classified by month, season, time and classify the kind of fault and malfunction such as stop, fault of door, malfunction of floor indication and so on. And now we research fault and malfunction for the power quality such as Sag, Swell, Interruption, Harmonic, electric voltage rise and so on at elevator equipments and are testing Elevator imitation equipment.

This paper investigates the influence on the aerodynamic performance of a passenger cruising very fast by some specific car body parts such as side mirrors, wheel arches and wheels designed hardly regarding aerodynamics. The magnitude of the contribution of each part is analyzed via on the CFD simulations. YF SONATA, a sedan of Hyundai Motors Company, plays a major role as the baseline car in this research, representing all passenger car. The CFD analysis condition consists of 6 different cases depending on whether each part exists or not. According to the CFD results, there were confirmed that additionally to the body parts' own drag, the car body went through somewhat the consequential increment of the drag by them. Among the 3 parts, wheel is the magnate that not only has the maximal drag but drives the drag of the passenger car to increase most steeply and the next is the side mirror.
The Korean government has been pursuing many supporting programs to enhance the competition of water transportation companies in recent years. To implement the policies effectively, which needs its monitering and evaluates about their business performance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the business performance of water transportation company groups and determine the outranking between the groups using the Integrated Fuzzy AHP-PROMETHEE.. To achieve this purpose, first, the companies were classified into seven alternative company groups and the criteria for their evaluation was extracted Second, the weights of the criteria, by maritime and port expert survey, were calculated using the Fuzzy AHP. This paper, finally, determined the total priority orders of their company groups as the link Fuzzy PROMETHEE II with weights of the criteria and the local priority orders between them using the Fuzzy PROMETHEE I. In the proposal for this model, thus was collected four criteria such as growth ability, beneficial ability, technical ability, and productive ability. Through the result of this evaluation, the other marine transportation services group was determined as the highest outranking but the inland passenger & cargo transportation services group was lowest. Thus, the developing plan of the productive ability for the other marine transportation services group should be reviewed to continue its good performance, and all off the criteria for the inland passenger & cargo transportation services group to raise the performance should be reviewed.

Experimental and numerical analyses were performed to characterize the fatigue behavior of spot welded joints in suspension mounting of a passenger car body. Static and fatigue tests were carried out for the tensile-shear and cross-tension specimens. S-N curve and fatigue strengths were obtained from the fatigue test of various specimens. Nonlinear finite element analysis showed that fatigue behavior of spot welded joints could be well estimated in terms of Von Mises stress at the nugget edge. Fatigue behavior of spot welded joint was represented by Von Mises stress better than the fatigue load.

Structural stress analysis is performed to confirm the safety of the structures before the construction, and stress analysis is performed to evaluate the safety of various components before the ship or vehicle corresponding to the moving structure is manufactured. In this case, the stress analysis work is performed using the stress analysis software of each company. The results of the stress analysis based on the boundary conditions of the applied loads are analyzed to evaluate the safety of the structure, but the results are difficult to verify because most of the stress analysis software possessed by each company is one. In this paper, we were performed the stress analysis of the bracket applied to the bare chassis of the 30-passenger bus under development is performed by HYPERMESH. In order to verify this, the stress analysis is performed using ANSA/META under the same boundary condition. The stress analysis results of ANSA/META and HYPERMESH showed that they had the same stress distribution and the maximum stress occurred at the same location. Taken together, the results of stress analysis using HYPERMESH were reliable.
The purpose of this study was to select market variables that a foodservice company should consider when expanding overseas and to regional market analysis by variables. Twenty-three different variables were derived from 17 previous studies. These were: population, urbanization rate, women employed, enrollment in tertiary education, gross domestic product, value added by service, total number of mobile cellular telephone subscribers, number of internet users, total Asian highway, inward foreign direct investment, total service imports, inflation rate, international tourist arrivals, energy use by industry, growth rates of the food consumer price index, access to urban sanitation, per capita total expenditure on health, male life expectancy at birth, adult literacy rate, contributing women family workers, passenger car, and country risk assessment. The selected variables were collected as secondary data from the UN, Asian Development Bank, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Michigan State University.
