윤활조건에 따른 기계부품용 소재에서 발생된 마멸입자의 분포 특성 (Distribution Characteristics of Wear Particles from Material of Machine Elements in Lubricant condition)

  • It necessarily follows that wear particles are generated through a friction and wear in a mechanical moving system. The wear particles are relative to the failure and the life of machine elements directly. To analyze the wear particle, its shape characteristics were calculated quantitative values such as diameter, roundness and fractal parameters by digital image processing. In this study, the histograms of shape parameters of wear particles were used for the purpose of analyzing the distribution of wear particles in various conditions. We consider that the histogram of shape parameter can be effectively represented to study a wear mechanism.

  • The spherical nonagglomerated and uniform nanometer-size SiO$_2$particles are synthesized by the injection of TEOS vapor, irons and reaction gas in a furnace. Ions are generated by corona discharge and these ions charge SiO$_2$particles. As a result, spherical, nonagglomerated and ultrafine particles are generated in various conditions. Their morphology, charging portion and size distribution are examined by using TEM, ESP and SMPS. As the applied voltage of electrode changes from 0 to 5.0 kV, it is observed that the melon diameter of SiO$_2$particle decreases from 94 nm to 42 nm.

  • The wear particles are relative to the failure and the life of machine elements directly. But it is not laid down to calculate shape parameters of wear particle. To analyze a variation of distributed characteristics of wear particles on moving conditions, its shape parameters such as diameter and roundness were calculated the quantitative values by digital image processing, and had to be defined the effective method of using those data. Up to the present, the shape parameters have been used simply into the average values. But these values are not effective to analyze a variation of distributed characteristics of occurred wear particles on moving conditions. In this study, the relative histograms of shape parameters of wear particles were used for the purpose of analyzing the distribution of wear particles in various conditions. The results showed that the relative histogram of shape parameters can be effectively represented to study a wear mechanism.

디젤연소가능 청정연료(ULSD, Bio-Diesel, DME)엔진의 극미세입자 정량화 및 촉매 영향 (Characteristics of Nano-particle Emitted by Auto-ignited Engine with ULSD, Bio-diesel and DME Fuel and Effects of Oxidation Catalyst on Its Reduction)

  • In this experimental study, the effects of clean alternative fuels compatible with diesel combustion on nano-sized particle emission characteristics were investigated in a 0.5L auto-ignited single-cylinder engine with a compression ratio of 15. Because the number concentration of nano-sized particles emitted by automotive engine, that are suspected of being hazardous to human health and environment, might increase with engine fuel considerably and recently attracted attention. So a ultra-low sulfur diesel(ULSD), BD100(100% bio-diesel) and Di-Methyl Ether(DME) fuels used for this study. And, as a particle measuring instrument, a fast-response particle spectrometer (DMS 500) with heated sample line was used for continuous measurement of the particle size and number distribution in the size range of 5 to 1000nm (aerodynamic diameter). As this research results, we found that this measurements involving the large proportion of particles under size order of 300nm and number concentration of $4{\times}10^9$ allowed a single or bi-modal distribution to be found at different engine load conditions. Also the influence of oxygen content in fuel and the catalyst could be a dominant factor in controlling the nano-sized particle emissions in auto-ignited engine.

서울 대기 에어로솔의 농도와 광소산에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concentration and Light Extinction of Atmospheric Aerosol in Seoul)

  • This study deals with concentration and light extinction of atmospheric aerosol in Seoul. From the measured aerosol size distribution for particle diameter ranging from 0.01 $\mum \sim 1.0 \mum$, extinction coefficient is calculated using the Mie theory. The results show that the diurnal variation of aerosol concentration, in general, reveals the lowest concentration in early morning and afternoon, while the highest at about 8 O'clock owing to the heavy traffic and accumulation of air pollution in the low atmosphere. However, aerosol concentration and extinction coefficient on April 7 give low values due to the advective wind. On the other hand, high aerosol concentration and extinction coefficenat are recorded on April 10 although solar radiation is weak. From the distribution of extinction coefficient we can find that aerosol particles of 0.1 $\mum \sim 1.0 \mum$ in diameter are highly effective on light extinction.

DME 연료의 분무 특성에 관한 연구 (Fuel Spray Characteristics of Dimethyl Ether)

  • This paper describes the atomization characteristics, as well as the velocity and size distribution, of DME spray based on common-rail injection system. To analyze the possibility of using DME fuel as an alternative fuel of diesel, spray atomization characteristics were investigated. For this investigation, two-dimensional phase Doppler analyzer system was used to obtain droplet size and velocity distribution simultaneously. Velocity and droplet size measurements were performed at various injection pressures. Results showed that increasing pressure from 25MPa to 50MPa leads to higher spray droplet velocities and smaller droplet diameter but injection pressure above 40MPa, no signifiant reduction was observed. With the droplet velocity and SMD comparison between diesel and DME fuel, it can be observed that DME has smaller SMD and droplet velocity due to its low surface tension.

  • 내경 0.109 m의 유동층에서 다입자경 모래에 대한 압력요동의 표준편차와 유속간의 선형회귀분석을 이용한 최소유동화속도 측정법의 적용성을 조사하였다. 다입자경 모래를 평균입자크기가 같은 Gaussian 분포에서 입자분포의 표준편차에 따른 최소유동화속도를 측정하고, 측정치를 타 연구자들의 식과 비교 검토하였다. 압력요동의 표준편차 값 선형회귀분석법과 층내 압력강하로부터 구한 최소유동화속도를 구하였다. 최소유동화속도 결정에서 유속 범위는 혼합도가 낮은 유속범위와 free bubbling 영역 이상을 제외한 범위값 이어야 하며, 이 유속범위에서 측정위치는 혼합이 양호한 층 중앙이 가장 적절하다.

펄 안료의 입도분포에 미치는 분쇄시간 및 바인더의 영향 (The Influence of Grinding Time & Binder on the Particle Size Distribution of the Pearl Pigments)

  • 메이크업 제품에 있어서 특히 아이섀도나 블러셔와 같은 포인트 메이크업 제품의 제조시 화사함이나 광택을 부여하기 위하여 사용되는 펄 안료에 대하여 분쇄시간에 따른 입도분포 변화와 결합제로 사용되는 바인더의 영향에 따른 입도분포의 변화에 대하여 검토하였다. 고속 회전형 믹서기를 사용하였으며 레이져 회절${\cdot}$산란법을 이용하여 입도분포를 측정하였다. 평균경 5 um의 펄 안료인 경우 120 s간 분쇄하였을시 4.5 um로 입자경의 변화 폭이 작지만, $45{\;}{\mu}m$인 경우 27 um로 현저히 작아지며 그에 따라 본래의 광택감도 떨어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 바인더의 경우, raw material의 입자사이즈에 따라 분쇄시간과의 상관성을 확인하였으며, 바인더 함량에 따라 입자간의 응집에 의하여 발생하는 분립체의 입도분포의 변화에 대해서도 고찰하였다.

디지털 이미지 처리 기법을 이용한 골재의 입도분포곡선 (Gradation Curve of Aggregate using Digital Image Process)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 이미지 처리 기법을 이용하여 2차원 이미지를 3차원으로 변환하기 위하여 형상변환계수 및 등가직경이론을 제안하였고, 이를 이용하여 수정입도분포곡선을 작성하였다. 연구에 이용된 골재는 천연골재(해변자갈) 2종 및 쇄석골재 2종 등 총 4종의 골재를 이용하였다. 4종의 골재에 대한 편평비는 각각 0.30, 0.36, 0.47 및 0.83으로 측정되었다. 형상변환계수는 각각 0.77, 0.78, 0.84 및 0.92로 결정되었다. 형상변환계수에 디지털이미지 처리기법에서 구한 입경을 곱하여 입자의 크기를 보정하였다. 보정된 입자크기를 이용하여 보정된 체적 및 중량을 구하여 수정입도곡선을 작성하였다.
