  • In this paper, Multistage Adaptive Partial PIC eliminating effectively the multiple access and multipath interference for DS-CDMA based W-CDMA uplink system is designed and its performance is evaluated with computer simulation. By adaptively controlling the slope of the soft limiter with received signals, the efficiency of the soft limiter can be maximized and the better performance is obtained by solving error floor problem using further precise generation of interference signal. As a result, The proposed Multistage Adaptive Partial PIC with simple optimizing method for time-variant channel showed optimum performance at fewer stages. Besides fewer stages, the interference cancellation at the output of the rake receiver considerably reduced system complexity. The Multistage Adaptive Partial PIC with precise generation and efficient cancellation of interference signal can solve error eoor problem, resulted from initial false detection and improve system performance of high data rate system.

  • Preliminary study has been conducted to analyse the co-relation between shallow landslides frequently occurring in rainy seasons and the water infiltration into the slope. The change of stress state due to partial saturation of a soil and hence the reduction of its shear strength have been reviewed. The variation of the safety factor of an infinite planar slope in accordance with various water infiltration scenarios has been estimated by limit equilibrium method to explain the mechanism of shallow slope failure. Numerical analysis under the same condition as those of some models dealt with in the previous method has been carried out by using FLAC, a finite difference program, and the results have been compared with the ones obtained by limit equilibrium method. Both results proved to be identical, which implies the ability of the numerical approach to the problems related to the stability analysis of unsaturated slope with the irregular geometry. Further improvement, however, should be made to apply the present analysis procedure to general slopes since it deals with a simple one.

  • The apparent and partial molal volumes({\phi}\nu$and $V^{\circ}$) of a series of homologous n-alkylamine hydrochlorides $C_nH_{2n+1}NH_3^+Cl^-$, where n varies from zero to four, have been determined by means of a float method at 30$^{\circ}C$ to the fifth decimal place down to 0.01M in aqueous solutions. The experimental results indicate that the partial molal volumes of the salts are almost additive for successive homologues depending on the increment of molecular weight ($CH_2$). It has been observed that the concentration dependence of the ${\Phi}v$ are linear in general and limiting slopes are positive and relatively close to the theoretical values. Anionic partial molal volume of chlorides anion $V^{\circ}_{Cl^-}$ is found to be 18.6 ml $mole^{-1}$, which is in good agreement with the results of other workers. {\phi}\nu$ data also show that in solution the hydrophobic effect of ions are in competition with the charge effect, but the latter, that is, electrostriction seemed to be considerably predominant.

  • The author has studied the collapse of a slope with seepage occuring in sand model with a trapezodial cross section. The primary objective of this study was to examine the failure phenomenon of embankment with respect to change in void pressure at embankment slope. The contents of this experiments are as follows; 1) Determination of exit point by seepage line. 2) Evaluation of partial failure at exit point. 3) The effects of seepage force at embankment.

  • The partial differential equation of the groundwater flow was reduced to an ordinary differential equation by the Boltzmann transformation. Its numerical solutions were obtained by the finite difference method and the new method to get the initial missing slope using the Richardson method and the finite difference equation was proposed. The solutions computed by the newly proposed method were compared with investigator's computations and they showed a satisfactory agreement and that the proposed method is easy and simple to get solutions.

  • The techniques of internally generating waves on a curve in a rectangular grid system are developed using the line source method. Numerical experiments are conducted using the extended mild-slope equations of Suh et al. (1997). For five different types of wave generation layout, numerical experiments are conducted in the cases of the propagation of waves on a flat bottom, and the refraction and shoaling of waves on a plane slope. The fifth type of wave generation, which consists of two parallel lines connected to a semicircle, shows the best solutions especially when the grid size is small enough.

  • In this study basic equations of fiber orientations is cimpared with experimental results. It is found that fiber orientations of short fiber reinforced polymeric composite under compression molding are governed by slope of flow speed in x-y direction. Fiber orientation angle of mold is also found to increase with closure speed and the compression ratio. At the middle of the mold, the slope of flow speed is larger in x-direction than in y-direction. At the wall of the mold, the shope of flow speed in y-direction occurs due to the effect of friction, hence affects the fiber orientation. The effect of partial flow, which incurs y-direction orientation causes to increase the fiber orientation angle at the fore part of the flow.

  • This study was conducted to develop the effects of site environmental factors on estimation of site index function for Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher stands. We derived nonlinear growth equation and the draw site index curves by applying this estimated equation. This study with Chapman-Richards function showed significant P-value which was less then 0.0001 and $R^2$ value 0.5947. This study was conducted to develop the feasible site index equation of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher. For the table, the data of 82 sample areas that were thought to be without errors among the data of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher sample area located on the value-oriented forest location chart were used and estimated. After analyzing the quantification method I based on 13 environmental factors to develop the score table for the site-index estimation of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher, $R^2$ value of the model was 0.7555. It has been analyzed that the scope value of Soil moisture in horizon A was 7.5045, that of total soil depth was 6.3896, that of topography was 5.3471, that of slope was 4.7000 and that of aspect was 3.2038. After analyzing the partial correlation to examine the factors that affected most the site-index of Chamaecyparis obtusa Endlicher, it has been noted that the partial correlation of climatic zone was 0.4987, which was highest, and it was followed by Soil moisture in horizon A (0.4592), slope (0.4537), topography (0.3299) and total soil depth (0.1035). As a result of conducting the significance test for partial correlation, it has been found that topography, climatic zone, parent rock, slope, altitude, aspect, Soil moisture in horizon A, soil hardness in horizon A and total soil depth were recognized significant with 1% of significance level and sedimentary type and soil texture in horizon A were recognized significant with 5% of significance level.

  • The object of this research was to observe the female college 220 students of aged 19-24 for four years and to examine somatotypes distribution; this research intends to contribute to the fitness of clothes by studying the body distribution that affects the clothing structure. The measurement and wearing experiment for somatotypes are done years annually. The average, standard deviation and coefficient of variation was calculated by the SAS program. The research results are as follows: The three somatotypes of side view silhouette (straight type, bend-forward type, lean-back type) showed fairly even distribution. As a result of dressing experiment with the basic bodice pattern, the most influential factor on its suitability was found to be the neck area, shoulder and ease of bodice respectively. The partial body types to observe were categorized as: shoulder(normal, slope, squared), bust(A cup, B cup, C cup), hips (normal, droop, projecting). As for the result for full body type by BMI, normal type was most dominant, and for the categorization by drop, the type A which is with small breasts and large hips was most prevalent.

  • The Soil-nailing installed to the slope or the vertical excavation surface shows reinforce effect using frictional resistance between ground and grout. This friction is showed the more the shape of grout is rough, the more efficient.. This study is about the characteristic behavior of Soil-nailing has partial extension grout made artificially control. In this study, we refer to the new boring machine that can make partially extended grout and perform 3D analysis between of the partial extended grout and the general grout of a cylinder shape using the finite element method for comparing.
